When can we expect recast timers to be fixed?

As the titles says, how soon? It's getting really annoying now with constant job changing.

Can't the timers be synced to the actual hidden timers? Those obviously work because even when the visible timer says it's ready we're still not able to use the skill because the real timer hasn't reset yet.

Getting tired of restarting client 4-5 times a day. Hoping this isn't a 2.0 thing but my guess is it is >.>

Because SE are worried about cheaters, although I've never seen other MMO's have an issue with this.

Yup, I believe the devs are TOO paranoid about cheaters. Hopefully they will ease it up in the 2.0 client...

Yes, I'd like my second wind recast to not lie to me because the side effects are death, death and destruction.

Hmm, it does sound like that's what they're talking about. It has indeed been a problem for a very long time.

As far as cheating goes, the best defense is a good offense. They should ban/suspend the few that decide to cheat instead of punishing everyone equally. It's obvious they got sick of all the GM calls regarding bots in XI, but that comes with the genre.

It would be AMAZING if this problem truly gets fixed in 1.21a. The game has been almost unbearable for me since 1.20. Almost every time after I've been logged in for about an hour or so, my recast timers slowly get more and more off sync until I'm forced to relog. My timers were actually off by a full 50 seconds yesterday... it has never been that bad up till that point.

Yeah they seem to have a mentality where they'll poison everyone in order to deal with a few "wrong'uns". Hence the god awful lag when trying to use any menus because they're all server side (I literally cannot re-assign actions outside the Ifrit fight for some reason?)

I used to have this "Recast Timers" problem, but not anymore after I installed my FFXIV on my SSD.

That was Tanaka, Yoshi-p seems to be desperately trying to rectify the mess he left behind.

I remember reading in an interview that Tanaka said he didn't have time to play games, which makes me wonder how can someone who develops games get new idea's if he doesn't play other games, at least Yoshi-p is an avid MMO player.

It's the reason I have faith that 2.0 will be good.

So, you didn't fix it. You alleviated it. Don't get me wrong, I appreciate it! a few seconds is a heck of a lot better than when they were off by 10-15 seconds. Now that was pretty annoying.

I think what they're saying is the problem is now the opposite, even if the ability is ready it may still show the recast timer with a few seconds on it, which is a lot better than the other way around.

Oh, I got it now. However, it's the same thing. You're still being told the wrong recast. So, it's not fixed. It's alleviated.

That's good news. I'm assuming you mean that the recast will show "0" for an extended period of time.

Although it's not a complete fix, it's still much better than visible recast timers going faster than the true timers, so I'm happy with this. No more hitting an action and getting "You must wait longer to use that action", hopefully :O

Restarting the client a few times always cured the problem, I have noticed that if the square enix logo took a while to load up when you started the client, then I would shut down again then restart once more, then the logo loaded faster, and my timers would be set again, a lot of the issue with the timers is due to changing classes, which will usually screw em up again, then the restart process would cure it. Only real problem I saw with the timers being jacked up was trying to tank and seeing the skill solid and ready to use, but getting the message, you can not use this skill yet, was most annoying. We shall see how this plays out tonight after we can log back on, but tbh about it even if its longer then the supposed time it'll be like it wasn't even addressed.
