Private houses Twintania and spriggan

Hi,

I think and I hope, I'm not the unique person who is asking this to himself, but why FC has had priority on the housing? Why one person is waiting months, transferin to a new server, to have the house you want, and then they came with this. I think more than 2 weeks is enough to buy a house for a FC. So wich is the reason for not having the private houses available yet? I think it's absurd all this time that has passed. So my question is, someone knows, when private housing will be avaliabe? Because is getting to long, this is absurd, in my opinon.

There was no private housing in the beginning - only FC housing. It is normal to give FCs a chance to grab a plot first before letting personals take over. Normally the waiting time for private housing is 2 - 4 weeks after FC housing was released so it should hit soon.
As Spriggan/Twintania is still new and attracted a lot of new players who created new FCs some still struggle to get enough fonds to buy even a small plot. We, who moved there with our years of experience and our bags of gil, have a hard time understanding the struggle of fresh players and fresh FCs. Personal I think it is fair to give them two or three weeks time to settle in.
I can only talk for Spriggan but last time we checked there still lots of larges, meds and hundreds of smalls left. So even if this will be postponed another two weeks people should still be able to grab good plots (even good large plots) for their personals.

I understand what you say Nanami, but the thing is, the server hasn't been released at the same time of the housing, it has been months ago. The thing is then, the people is gonna start farm gil the same day of the housing release? because they had 2 months to do that. Also I moved to twintania to buy the plot 11 Lavender Beds, and what I see now? I can't do NOTHING, while all the plots get bought from random guilds. So do they had more right to have it? Because I won't leave my FC to create a new one and be able to buy it because I play with my friends on our FC. I think it's no fair to do that, at least it's not fair to see how plots dissapear in your face while you can't do nothing. I think it's not fair to do that like this, because people has had months to farm some gil, and know that housing was gonna come to the server. Why I should wait for a new FC with 5 members, 2 active members, buying the plot I want, and then leaving the house empty for months. This doesn't make sense for me.

FCs benefit more from housing than individuals. Also private housing holds your subscription hostage.. you cant go away longer than 45 days. I understand the sentimental value of it though, I owned one myself. Besides that, you dont gain anything.

You have shown me, that you have no idea. With 2 weeks is more than enough for the FC buy his own house. My particular opinion, I think only 2 hours since opened the housing for FC, ONLY 2 HOURS, after open the housing for all ppl, for two hours the FC have had time to buy the house. If people work, they have class, so on, It isn't my problem, they don't play this video game. Honestly, the FC of 4 people who want to buy a house, I don't give a shit

and one last thing, when they open private houses, FCs of 4 cats (understand cats as people), I do offer (being private) more money, they should give me the opportunity to take away the PLOT

Get ready to buy a good plot from a reseller owning a trash <10member house holder Free Company. One day was more than enough for actual free companies to grab a plot. The more they wait the worse the "flipper" problem will be.
"Those are Free Companies with all the right to buy a plot" people will say or at least those who are blind to the truth or even resellers themselves... but who really knows, right? /shrug

Guess what? They also don't give a shit if you want a house just the same way you don't give a shit for anyone else apparently. I guess everyone now who has a family, has a job and any other kind of obligation is "not playing the game". It is only people who can commit to be online at any hour of the day that are truely playing the game. Yes, that was sarcasm because it's utter nonsense.

I am all for opening housing to individuals now that FCs had their priority time, don't get me wrong. But anymore of these replies of butthurt people who transferred to Twin/Sprig expecting to get a mansion the moment they open housing and I am likely to consider otherwise.

No, it's not. Personal housing doesn't give access to grade 3 buffs, it also doesn't give access to workshops. It also restricts all elements of (limited) housing to a maximum of 4 players per house.

FC housing gives all of the above and opens the potential access to 500 members per FC (depending on FC size and rank hierarchy obviously).

Imagine for 1 second, that we get into a situation where individuals own every single house and no FC gets one, no FC will have grade 3 buffs, there would be no special housing walls such as Odder Otter or Shirogane Castles, there would be no access to mounts, minions and music obtained by Submersible and Airship expeditions and housing would be less accessible to an individual than it is right now. Yes of course this is hypothetical but you have to imagine worst case scenario.

Yes of course there are shell FC's that take the complete piss, I will never dispute this, but it is literally the last housing loophole there is in order to make a quick buck (or to selfishly hold houses hostage) and I believe there should be stricter requirements for FC's buying houses but I couldn't possibly suggest a workable solution that suits the majority.

I'd also like to point out, being a complete obnoxious and petulant manbaby, will not yield the result you are after

To answer the OP, I'd expect personal housing to be available at 5.1.

I repeat again, I don't give a shit about the bufos that FC's have, they have had time, more than enough, to acquire the house.
And if you do not suggest a solution to impose restrictions on purchases of FC houses, do not bother to post (you keep showing me that you waste your time on things you have no idea).
PD: it would be a shame for the management of SE to open the private house on 5.1

Why they have all the right of having the best plots of the server? WHY? Is that a right wich cames with a FC? Because I'm paying the same (at month) as a guy wich a FC house. Why he can has the best plot? And I must be seeing how plots dissapear in my face and I can't do ANYTHING, I'LL REPEAT ANYTHING. There's just 1 possible solution, buying it to a a resseler for 100 million gil? Does it really makes sense? NO. The point is they don't have the right to do this, at least in my opinion there just be a period of 1 week AT LEAST, BUT NO MORE for the chance of a FC to buy a house.

...you gotta love the people complaining about housing in this game... posts like these really make me wonder if instances housing would be accepted after all if we're going from "I cant get a house at all, because there are non on my server" to "I cant get excatly the spot I want because FCs have priority!"

Here are a few points to think about in regards to why FCs have priority:
1) Housing was originally meant for FCs
2) An FC-house - in theory - benefits many people, a personal one doesnt
3) Certain FC-functions are locked behind owning a house

They've had months to earn the money, so they don't have the RIGHT to give them now weeks and weeks to buy a house, 1 week ok, but more? wich is the point dude? there's no point on that. And if you think it has, you are wrong, why? For what i've said, THEY'VE HAD MONTHS TO EARN THAT MONEY.

Shadow - The earliest would of course be at 5.1, which is (I think) in a couple of weeks. I personally think FC housing could have been made available sooner with personal housing following about 2 weeks later but I assume the rollout of the expansion was more of a priority.

I see no issue in FC housing being made available before personal housing, again for the reason that it is more accessible to more players this way. Yes it hurts the individuals who had the desire to own a specific plot, but it was public knowledge that FC housing would come first.

Oh dear lord it's the same topic we've had 10+ pages on the German Forums already.

Short version: FCs had priorities of buying houses over private last time as well, so you should've expected the same for the new servers, no surprise.

FCs need houses for some activities. Private as well for gardening, yes, but FCs benefit a little more. But not all plots will be gone via FCs, so they get to buy first, in most cases there still were enough plots for private after.

In theory.

In actual practice, people have already created shell FCs to buy desirable plots. (Goodbye,all the Shiro 30/60s :D)

Since you only need 4 characters in an FC to purchase a plot,all of which can be your alts.

After purchasing the house, 3 of the remaining characters can go on to buy a house with a 4th and so on and so forth. A single service account can end up owning 8 FC houses per server.

Locking FC content like airships/submarines/workshop behind FC housing was a significant lack of foresight on SE's part, since these generate millions of gil a week when everything is ranked up and running at full steam.

Don't even need FC members for FC crafting. They can be from different servers/trial account characters etc.

The distribution of the benefits of such FC content, comes down to hoping you have good FC leaders/officers for normal FC members.

So I don't buy the argument that FCs should have priority over individuals when often only the FC leader and their inner circle benefit.

Granted,sometimes only the FC leader and a few people are doing all the work.

Even if people don't create shell FCs to flip the houses later on, just the fact that FC houses are significant gil generating assets makes them more valuable than a personal plot.

SE should make gardening available through apartments.

Content like the airships/submarines,workshop should be made available for individual players through the main cities. A few people should not be allowed to monopolize such assets.

Fc's have always had first access to houseing. when it was first introduce i believe they had access to it for like a month before they opened it to private aswell. Its just the fact and fc benefits way more then private and it serves more people then private.

Could there be ways it could be changed. Yeah people have suggested fc only wards before but square likes there little plots. Private owners also have access to apartments to make use of.

You just have to wait and deal with it.

Actually, when housing was released it was supposed to be FC-only. At that time prices compared to the economy were so high that it was very unlikely that one person alone could afford more than a small house, even after weeks of just crafting. Over time inflation set in, more people earned the required money, prices of the houses went down because no one bought them and the first shell FC started to appear.

Personal housing became available about half a year after FC-only housing. Until then many wards had a lot of empty plots - mainly the mansions because no one had the money for those and the small ones because everyone felt they were better off saving a couple million more to get at least a medium house (at that time, small houses didnt had the cellar, it was just the one room, making them only slightly bigger than apartments).

Until seeing this thread I kept my fingers crossed for them to improve the size of apartments and provide people with better instances housing that way, so that everyone would be happy. Looking at this thread though I'm not sure that would work... apparently some people feel that a certain plot (Shirogane 30/60 probably?) is their birthright and that it should be presented to them personally by Yoshi-P with an apology that it took him to long to make sure they finally get what they deserve for paying 13€ a month - which clearly isnt just access to the game as described in the ToS we signed but also the housing plot of your choice and an UWU-clear that you dont have to train for...

mm looking back yeah its so long ago i honestly can't remember clearly i remembering my fc at the time having a small on the beach front we use to all sit on the same bed and chat it was lovely.

But yeah i have hopes that this hinted ishgardian housing might break the mold and be instance but me and my in game partner are saving up hoping for a mansion. But im not gonna be too upset if we don't have the perfect spot.

I was lucky to get the 28 medium in shirogane and i love it. perfer it to the 60/30 one.

I do feel like maybe making multi sized apartments might help with the housing situation.

The private housing should have never been a thing - or been instanced. It just leads to dead neighborhoods without people and that's boring.

One or two weeks for FCs would be enough... under the condition that housing was released after reasonable amount of time. It was released early, the road to 70 buff hasn't even ended yet. Try to earn the money in two months and half while leveling, not to mention without any in-game knowledge. This release schedule is quite harsh for sprouts even if the FCs get priority. It may suck for the people who transferred, but imagine how much work under the sever schedule had the new players manage to actually buy the plots. The money is easy to make once you get to certain point in-game, but you need time to get there.

The Nidhogg extreme pug groups were quite harsh at the time... people wanted to be carried instead of practicing it based on their skill progression and that slowed the progression down for the other party members. Honestly, I think that they should make personal housing instanced (allow improvements to apartments, make them have up to 3 floors, have an area where you can put outdoor furnishings through a door at the back of the ground floor)... then move all personal houses possessions to the caretaker (including the full price of the plot, plus house, and an extra 1m - or however much you get for free transferring), and allow you to put it into an apartment. Make apartments personal only, and houses FC only. Sure, you'll still have shell FCs, but stringentness of that could also be introduced (thinking of RuneScape and their Clan Citadels, different levels of citadel required different levels of member activity in the area), scaling according to the size of the house. Maybe keep it at 4 for a small, going up to maybe 256 for a large? and maybe 32 for a medium? This is unique members visiting the house by the way.

And before anyone claims "Oh it's because you never got a personal house"... had a personal on both Louisoix (which I gave up to be with my at the time partner), and another on Omega which I gave up when I moved to Twintania. They improve apartments to allow outdoor gardening, and I won't need a house.

As I've said elsewhere, this (in my mind) above is literally the only solution to the housing problem. I believe the more tech-savvy players have already said that the burden on servers to simply load up an instanced location (similar to inn and squadron rooms) is next to nothing, whereas entire zones needing to forever be active and glorified graveyards for the sake of vanity is a strain. With this suggestion, it is probably possible for them to finally allow us to have glamour dressers here in the same way we have them in inn's and squadron barracks.

There could also even be an apartment workshop, where everyone can contribute materials (each person has a max contribution per day/craft) and people in the apartment block get rewarded depending on their contribution (tada, a community project).

Also, allow spouses access to their partners apartment, essentially a tenant but predetermined by marriage.

This would free up actual housing for FC's.

Biggest problem we have is, how can they implement this when there are so many personal houses, would they force people to move to apartments (that would be quite chaotic I imagine)? Would they just not allow personal housing in future and if someone loses their house, only FC's can claim it?

To remove shell FC's, or at least limit them, they should implement a rent system whereby FC credits are spent. Small house = 10k credits, medium house = 35k credits, large house = 70k credits. (examples, don't bite me)

It's a bit of a tangent to the point of the thread, but like every other housing thread, it has descended into chaos and irrelevancy so eh, why not touch on some ideas (which I'm not sure has been said anywhere else)
