Music settings: Loop/Fade out/off, Chocobo on/off etc

I have a request to the devs, which I hope am not the only one:

Could we have (yeah ok, for 2.0 >_>) more music options?
Things like not only setting volume but also make it fade or loop? Turn battle/chocobo theme on/off?
I love FF music, but if I'm on my choco for quiet some while, I tend to turn off the music volume, it just gets boring and too much. Good job is when you're not moving and the chocobo music turns down a little, now can I turn it off completely and instead hear the forest tunes from Tranqil Paths?
Just don't remove it completely of course, just give us a bit more options ^^;

I am a big fan of customization, and was just thinking the other day how cool it would be if they let you customize the music for each zone and certain instances. So for example, if you wanted, you could switch so the gobbue mount music plays while on your chocobo, or set it so the music for Gridania is the music that plays in Ul'dah. Besides turning it on or off, I don't think I have ever heard of an MMo that let you customize the music in this way.

One thing i'm thinking about, is to be able to have the possibilities to set a button for on/off (music button), because i'm usually on mumble, or listening my own music, but when it come to watch a cut-scene i'd like to put the music on.

What I liked from WoW for example was how you could set it so the music plays just once when you entered an area and then faded away, or as a loop, like it's here atm. Fading just makes it less, how can I say, charged? And it's old news that in FF11 you could turn then battle theme on/off. I wish there was a plan for this one too.

Yeah I've seen this request for so long , didn't see any change
and i'm still demand it for the Chocobo's song to fading away after 1 or 2 loop
Since I too want to listen to field BGM while riding the Chocobo.

Great idea, I'm hoping each menu is going to start to form into their widgets with plenty of customization.

Good idea, iv been thinking about it too several times. Chocobo music can be anoying when you listen to it for long period of time. Sometimes the calm music from the woods would be nice indeed, even on the chocobo back! +1

No, no. Don't get me wrong, I was just linking toward the chocobo portion that a rep responded to. I was too tired at the time to elaborate.

Battle music toggle would be pretty gnar too.

I'd really like an option to turn off chocobo music, im getting really fed up of it lol

I fully support an option to turn the Chocobo music off and just hear the normal zone music instead. The chocobo theme was good for a while but it's just a little annoying at this point with the amount I use my chocobo. Plus I really like some of the zone themes.

I wanted to give you guys a quick update. There has been progress with the music toggle feature, but unfortunately it's difficult to do with the current client so we are working on this to be implemented in 2.0.

This is pretty much a let down. HOWEVER, it'll be totally awesome when we have it in 2.0 so we can ride our mounts and listen to all the new zone tracks. :)

I agree with the company chocobo music... It's so awful and annoying! The rental bird's music is pretty good.

FFXI delays, Maintenances extensions, FFXIV delays, FFXIV lag.. all delayed :o

Wish they had more variety of chocobo music...

I kind of like FF Type Zero's chocobo music and the overworld Standing Strong on Ground... only problem if I hear this version while riding chocobo.. I'll end up in walking mode since it goes better... lol

As long as it comes with 2.0 I don't mind. The XIV Chocobo theme is horrible on the ears.

I just switched my goobue music with my chocobo music since I never ride my goobue but I love the song. lol.

FINALLY! I can't say how happy I am to hear that this will indeed be taken care of (even if its still a few months away with 2.0). Can't wait to run all over the place on choco back (and any future added mount for that matter) while listening to the awesome field music. /win

I would really like it if, when the same music is playing after an area change, that the music simply continues playing instead of restarting (especially apparent on a chocobo but happens in other situations as well)

Lovely idea. Yay.... and how about a music player in our rooms to play unlocked themes?

Will the music toggle for mounts disable music all together or will it play the music for your current area? please make it so you it does the current area music.

Wouldnt be so bad if they let you choose which chocobo theme you wanted to play...maybe via the same menu as choosing the barding for your bird.

Really really like the wild west style Chocobo theme more than the Grand Company version.

I dont get why this is a difficult thing.

If a toggle is on, dont play any music when you hop on a mount.

You add mounts in the current system, and you made music to change when you get on mount, so you coded it in, why is it so hard to slap an if statement on that code???

My game has bugged out numerous times and not played music when i get on chocobo so it must be possibles, i think they being lazy!

Chocobo music here is unfortunately rather irritating, especially a couple of months into the game. FFXIII-2 is far less irritating, was actually nice, it had a new relaxing twist to it, not the usual kinda blunt repetitive melody, was much more subtle.

I like the idea of having more options, customize as you will, and until then SE can easily implement an off button where you hear the zone music instead of chocobo, that sounds like a fairly simple quick implementation. Shouldn't need to wait till 2.0

Another good idea is to atleast have more more than one track play, so your head doesnt feel like exploding after several minutes. I'm always finding myself lowering the volume when it comes to chocobo riding. Also i find myself riding Goobue often just for the sake of the music, as inconvenient as it is riding the goobue with the obscured camera view (hope that gets fixed too).

I like my choco music let me have the option to keep it on :(

Dev team should just have the track die out after 2-3 loops of the track, like it did in FFXI, that was nicely done.
