The birds in Eumore. The ones in the sky that "wave" around in a complete immersion breaking way. You can see them from the top floor with the aetheryrte crystal in the sky, from the cafe and the token desks.
Like, what was someone thinking when they put this travesty in? It just smacks of rushed work
Please remove, would rather have an empty sky.
OR they could update them to be well birds and not ornaments stuck on invisible sticks waving in the sky

Yeah, I noticed them, too. It's really jarring once you notice and quite unseeable. They remind me of the fish that were in the river in Sarutabaruta back in Final Fantasy XI. They just sat in place, as well. Kinda expect more from XIV, though.

I dont actually see the problem with it, birds actually do that if the wind is blowing..they just kind of let the drift keep them lifted while they appear to not be moving.

Someone mentioned the waves and... man, I wish the game did more with bodies of water. It's so weird to teleport to Ruby Sea and seeing it be, well, nearly flat. I think there's like, a boat or two, but you always get the impression that they're not so much floating on water as much as being "stuck in" it.
And before someone says anything, yeah, I know how incredibly resource-intensive would be to have realistic fluid dynamics. It's just a wish. -

Seagulls do that motion all the time. The only problem here is there is not the occasional flap of the wings, which they do use to adjust themselves. But the actual swaying motion that's being complained about here is completely realistic.

If the complaint is that the motion could use a longer cycle before it repeats itself, then I guess I can see that. I didn't really notice the interval being so short when in-game, myself, but eh. /shrug -

Yeah I was going to say it's extremely normal for both those birds and the waves. I live like 20 minutes from the Gulf of Mexico and the birds just will kick back and float in the air mainly seagulls (that's when they're not attacking you for food) and with the waves just depending on the tide it can go that quickly.

Oh I thought it was just me, the shadows on the ground by the slums look so fake. They remind me of those birds on strings. I can understand what they were trying to but they could have animated it a bit better.

Its just one of the many mysteries of the FFXIV world. Like that guy who was hanging from the construction works in Ishgard for a number of years. Or the Miqo'te's in Ul'dah who never stop dancing. And all the myriad of NPCs that have been stuck in a perpetual conversation loop since 2.0.
To be honest, it wouldn't be too far fetched for these particular birds to be some kind of magical creatures that have evolved to live off the residual aether in the air, and are quite happy to stay gliding in one spot for all eternity. -

You said that looks like your tides, sometimes, in the gulf, and I'll believe you (never been there lol), but then I'd say a place stuck in perpetual very specific tide water I think is allowed to be called an unexpected visual then (we've got magic on our side so it's not illegal per say- they can do whatever they want :3, but allow me that strange feeling then :P).
It's like if someone freaked out about no (limited) shadows at a certain time of day, it's so weird, but then you found someone whose lived in Hawaii with Lahaina Noon (which sounds like magic to someone not used to that). If this jello foam with low very close water activity (basically just the jello foam moves) and not intense, appearing, winds is normal for some people then it certainly isn't on my beaches and coasts. My closest beach now just being strong winds and freezing cold water O_o;;.
Also on the birds I don't think I've ever seen them do this, but that's because the birds usually around me are lazy and have a million points of sitting (area full of trees, which also probably break up many good quality updraft air streams). I knew birds could hang out in streams for a long time, just that I've never had the opportunity to see it (as when I'm not in my normal area I'm somewhere else for tourism and not to see birds lol). I say that only because it seems like some people want to get rude (not really you), and while I've seen loads of birds I've never seen birds hang for hours, and strangely I also know how to open my door xD. It's almost like people can have different experiences at different times and live in different environments.
I liked that OP said it's "so minor, you probably wouldn't even care" lol, which is why I added my jello foam "problem" here (I've seen that foam like twice in the whole game so far, so minor I almost don't even remember to care- just thought it strange looking water).
