Yes, so we won't get nonsense such as Viera's ears sticking out of hats. -_-
Or at least put ALL races + genders as a preview.
We need this.
And let us preview event/MogStation furnishings along with everything else in housing. I see no reason why we shouldn't be able to.
Funny that every game with a cash shop BUT XIV has this. Yes please. Many a time I've regretted a purchase because hair clipping.
That'd be pretty cool :D.
Sort of sitting in some really rough draft state in a text file, but I had thought it would be really cool if we had a physical Mognet station, where the post moogles hang out, some new moogle quests, and of course get to check out the store in game. Adding a level of immersion to the idea, and some other features of course. A fancy moogle theme'd area, befiting the store, the game, and can give some nice areas to check out the appearance of certain clothes, objects, and mounts. Plus I just want an excuse to see more moogle stuff and really liked the Mognet idea in FFIX :3. Though I wanted to bundle that concept of new moogle content with some other stuff like being able to use moogle flute like FFIX to call out a buddy for some retainer-lite/minor shopping features (at this point our branch fairy fits in that theme too though).
I'd rather keep MogStation out of the game. As a compromise, I'd like some sort of something that lets you preview any gear, and has it say where you get it. This would include MogStation gear, but also includes dungeon, contest, and other gear you can't preview from a marketboard.
The best workaround for now is to ask if someone can link the item for you - occasionally I've even set up a PF ad if I can't get it from a friend.
You can try on some of the seasonal gear at the Calamity Salvager and Recompense Officer.
No please do not put Mogstation in the game. One of the big reasons I switched from ESO to FF is because there is no shop in the game. Even WoW has a shop in the game and it makes it feel less premium. The UI in ESO has marketing all over it that yanks from immersion and eventually they added advertising as you log in to go check out the store as you play, and glistening icon for store and crates. Final fantasy is the only MMO where optional items are available on a separate website and I love it that way. If they add a preview system they should do so for the mogstation website itself as you view the listing, not embedded in the game.
I don't think OP's request was to put an actual cash shop in-game, they just want a boutique/dressing room option; so it could be an NPC that allows you to view items from the MogStation to try on but not actually purchase them (you'd have to go to the website for that).
I'm not against it, for the sole purpose of seeing if a gear suits you.
That being said, I usually find someone else with said gear, examine them, and 'try on' the gear they have if I'm interested. Might be a bit of a pain to find someone thought lol
Wait what? I buy things on day 1 because I like them. Buying a 9$ online item is not an achievement, so how would one even show off with that? You know, the world is always a mirror of yourself, so your perception that people only buy it to show off probably gives away more about you than it does about them :P
I do not trust any video game company to put anything related to a cash shop in a game and NOT make it a distracting, gaudy spectacle. You put something like a "MogStation Boutique" in the game, even if it doesn't start out horrible, it WILL turn into an unsightly spectacle with moogles blaring horns, a light from above shining down on it, and a choir of frikkin angels that sing anytime you get near it. It won't stop there. Then there will be a boutique right smack next to every major town's Aetherrite. Then it'll pop up when you log in.
No. Do not give a video company an inch on these matters. My alternative removes the cash shop as the focus, and has other uses. It just so happens to include MogStation things and will say you get them there, much like the music rolls.
In-Game Store isn't the only option for that ( would be great i must say, the best option imo ), but SQEX can allow us to use our Character model in Mogstation to check cosmetic stuff on them, i don't think it's a hard stuff to do.
You are essentially asking for a glamour catalogue which is unlikely to happen (at least no time soon), that's why we have the glamour dresser. A reason MogStation items are requested to be viewable in-game (at an NPC/menu etc) is because of the additional real cost applied to purchasing them. People like to try things on before buying (just like feel life) which is kinda fair, and it's not always easy to find others that actually own the item(s) as a method to try at the moment so a consistent alternative is preferable.
You are being dramatic about the rest of the stuff though. If enough players request something and they are happy to have their subscription going towards such things then they can give every inch they like.
It has already been said, but you can view some seasonal items right now in game via Calamity Salvager on top of convert items. All of which are on Mog Station. Your argument holds little weight when it's already halfway there. Yes they were in game for free for a time, but them being on Mog Station remains fact.
They aren't there for the purpose of being viewed though. It's more that they happen to be there from old trade-in token mechanisms, and it hasn't been updated in years. You can't even see full sets of some things - eg. you can try on the Valentione dress/shirt and skirt/pants but not the gender-neutral shoes and hat.
