I see the Free fantasia reward for buying a 2month game card.
As a 6month subscriber I should hope anyone who subs 3months+ should also be entitled to it or its a real slap in the face for our loyalty and support.

You can literally buy the 2 month card and add it to your account and just stack it. 2 months, 6 months? You're in it for 8 total anyways. Why not buy it!
Also, to be fair--you're rewarded for your loyalty by paying less per month when you buy a 6 month chunk. So there's no slap in the face. You CAN get your cake and eat it too. Just buy the game cards and add them to your account
its a recurring sub dude its not like 6+2
it would mean I would have to cancel my sub to get the benefit of the 2months!
Question, as someone who's afraid of effing with his reoccurring account because the last time I tried I got locked out for a week, how does one buy 2 months play time without having to edit their existing sub?
You go to the SE online store, purchase the gametime card (checking that it has the additional blurb about the fantasia) and then add the gametime card code via the mogstation. You do not edit/amend your subscription in any way. Your next rebilling date under the existing subscription moves forward by the number of days added by the gametime card.
To encourage people to buy said 60-say-cards? Thats what those deals are for: To encourage specific sales, not to reward the customer.
If you're already paying for a longterm subscription you dont need any further encouragment (at least not as far as a buisness is concerned - they already have your buisness). Someone who only pays for 30 days at a time to unsub afterwards for a certain amount of time (for example unsubbing til the next patch) might end up paying more to get this promotion. Or someone who doesnt usually use cards will now buy one instead of using their usual method (not sure what the benefit for SE is to promote the time cards, though - raising awareness that you dont need a credit card to pay for the game but can actually just pay for your game time at a supermarket with cash and even get a bonus for that?)
And, at the end of the day, as someone pointed out already: someone who already paid for several months of sub might end up paying again for additional time straight away (could, in theroy, look good on their quarters - in reality I'll admit that I doubt that a few extra time cards would matter)...
Bottomline though: Its not a "reward", its an incentive to promote sales. They're a buisness after all.
yes and how many times do u see insurance companies and tv companies giving out the same rewards to existing customers and not just their new customers??? its the norm for them to do that now and we shouldn't just accept that its fine for gaming genre not to follow suit but if people like you just accept it we will never get the same deals
What do you mean "not even out yet"?
The promotion is running from the 1st of august to the 1st of september - so its been running for 3 weeks already and you only have one week left -> https://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodes...b9d53c23f890f8
At this point I'm not sure if you even know what it is you're complaining about - you seem to be under several missconceptions...
Do you really want a Fantasia that bad that you not getting a free one with the subscription choice you made, and you refuse to pay to add 2 months to your current sub amount, makes you this upset?
Is this just entitlement or...?
Promotions come and go, maybe instead of complaining about this one, request a different incentive for those in your shoes? As someone else said, your overall payout is less than someone who pays for shorter time spans so in effect, you can get a free fantasia, or even more, with the saving no?
Historically, those who paid ahead, got the subscription rewards sooner. Admittedly the time needed to subscribe has been slashed nowadays but there was something.
Also, isn't there a button that says "add game time card" and can't people just do this and it just updates your subscription dates accordingly? (I don't actually know and work computer won't let me log into mogstation to verify for myself lol)
You are aware that they dont have to give out any promotions, right? You are not entitled to anything but the actual product you're paying for, which is access to the game and nothing else.
Also... to answer your question... at least in germany you're far more likely to get some kind of promotion if you're a new customer because thats how they get you to sign a contract with their insurance, cable company etc. After that you might get the occassional offer, but its always far less and always tied to extending your contract for several months or years. Its never a "Thank you for being a loyal customer for 6 years!" its always "Hey, how about we give you this thing... all you have to do is agree to pay us for 2 more years at least!"
They dont do those things to give you free stuff - they do those things to make sure you dont take your buisness elsewhere.
If SE isnt worried about longterm players taking their buiness elsewhere, why should they give them free stuff?
Ugh, just complaining.
You don't have to cancel your sub to use it. You just tack it on. That's why I said 6+2. If you could read--you'd understand that. If you had the ambition to just do it--you'd understand that.
Instead, you've chosen to do nothing but complain about it here.
------
Like I said. I LITERALLY DID THIS YESTERDAY. It just tacked on the extra 60 days after my sub. And then after those 60 days--the sub auto renews again. It LITERALLY gives you a confirmation window to make sure that's what you want to happen. And then it gives you an email on top of that letting you know that your sub will renew after the pre-paid days run out.
There is LITERALLY no circumstance where you can't take advantage of this deal. It doesn't matter what sub you have running--you can LITERALLY just tack on your extra days at the end of it. I hate that I had to all-caps type literally so many times. But I just want to pound it into your skull that my words mean exactly what they say.
Its a savings of $2/month to sub for 6 months,Quote:

Its a savings of $5/month (if you will EVER use those fantasias) to buy time cards right now.
I understand where they're coming from, because its a massive savings (comparatively speaking) to use what is a MUCH safer option for payment.
Its a weird incentive.Quote:
I'ts an incentive
I'd get it if this was a campaign to promote them selling physical game cards again, but thats not going to be a thing (even the retailers that claim they carry game time cards just have batches of digital codes to distribute).
I'd get if it was tied to a 3 month subscription for $40, since that would lock the customer into an actual sub, which is (or should be, anyway) reported differently in financial reports than subs through time cards, and encourages retention of the player.
Its really just an odd way to handle it, and seems to be a way to say they're getting 2 months subscriptions out of people who pay month to month or already use timecards (and you want to convert those people to continual, long-term subscriptions and NOT timecards) but want a free fantasia.
Theres no place where it makes sense to do this over adding it onto a 3/6 month recurring plan (specifically 3, since its within a $10 price point and encourages the player to stay on through what should likely be the next major content patch, at which point they would be more likely to renew the subscription).
Or you guys could stick to your character for once without chaning back and forth.
See? No Fantasia needed.
Well, the 60 days time card costs 25,98 €
Right now I'm paying 10,99 € / 30 days = 21,98 €
So the Fantasia is not free, it still costs me 4,00 €. Which, to be fair, is cheaper than the usual 7,00 € but only by 3 €.
I didn't see it mentioned anywhere in this thread, but it's not possible for you to have more than 6 months of game time on your account.
However, the game's timecard don't have to be be used immediately either. As long as adding the extra 60 days won't push you over two months, just add it now (if not hold onto it for future use).
Then when your current paid subscription expires it'll start using the timecard.
However, if you have extra retainers, because they're not covered by the timecard you'll have to go back to the mogstation to manually reactivate them (paying the fee for 60 days of them).
So don't panic if you have extra retainers and one day they stop working, this means it's used your timecard and you just need to manually reactivate them/pay the difference.
This just reminded me of someone in the WoW forums. lol
But anyways, as others have mentioned. You don't need to change your subscription. When you add the game time, it will take place after your current month/cycle has ended, then resume with your subscription after the game time has ended assuming you didn't change your subscription, which you have the option to do so.
Assuming no legacy discount and no mog station sales, the promotion should still save you $5.99 for 2 months of game time and 1 phial of fantasia or $15.97 for 6 months of game time and 3 phials of fantasia at the cheapest subscription tier.
Off topic, but that quote is wrong. It isn't "get your cake and eat it too" It is actually "You cannot have your cake and eat it too" which means you cannot eat your cake but still have it, you need to choose to keep your cake and not eat it, or eat it but in doing so you no longer have it.
It is used for expressing the impossibility of having something both ways, if those two ways conflict. XD
I took advantage of this, added 2 months game time to my account. I had the fantasia itch, and switched my alt. Only thing I hate is the SE store. I apparently had the wrong password for my account, so it locked me out, but my actual account was my ffxiv account, and then it let me log in. I was extremely confused. In the end it worked, but it was a big runaround.
you can't be like oh I bought something and now I want something that goes with it, if it worked like that I could probably go to gamestop and be like oh I bought my ps4 pro and it didn't come with a game I should be able to get last of us 2 since you are offering it now as part of the deal.
I would get laughed at.
Not that it wouldn't be a great thing, I would of liked that also free fantasia with all my game cards I buy but oh well.
Quick question: Do they ship an actual physical gametime card, or do you get the gametime code via email? I can't find any info on that in the store.
