Sinner/ Sin eater job idea [Possible spoiler Warning]
I know this wont be seen by the devs and someone has most likely already thought of it before me but ill put it out there for feedback and improvements.
Sinner/ Sin eater: Pet DPS.
Gimmick; summon sin eater minions while trying to keep the light in check. the stronger the light, the more powerful the abilities however the more danger you put yourself in that can lead being KO'ed. nothing ventured, nothing gained right?
possible pet summon mechanics;
version A) kills of non boss enemies change them into a sin eater for a short time before dying.
version B) abilities that unlock as the light gauge increases. having them on the field hastens light contamination over time in proportion to what sin eaters are summoned. (so it becomes a balancing act between sin eaters to deploy at once at any time)
Light Contamination Gauge;
as mentioned above the main thing you need to be aware of is your light level. as it increases through abilities or summons the more potent your abilities become, however the flip side is the more detrimental effects such as becoming more susceptible to damage, paralysis effects. when it hits max the player transforms [either by ability which leads to death if not unlocked/used or automatic transformation] into a playable warden form for set time that results in instant death at its conclusion.
light contamination depletes over time.
clarification edit(s):
1)unlike sum/sch, sin eater minions can sustain damage and be destroyed.
2)trying to keep spoilers to a minimum, as far as i interpreted the "light contamination" was in check but plausibly still there as long as we remain there. version A of the pet mechanic was thought up to was a mechanically explain away its use (and brief life) in the source though B was more focused more on interesting gameplay over logic
2.5) Spoiler Warining!!!! though the WoL/WoD aether is back in balance and returned to safe levels at the end of the msq they did still absorb every warden into them to break the light's hold on the first. many jobs and their questlines have you drawing in on yourself or something else to conjure various mcguffins or abilities into existence. focusing on the warden side of your aether, the summoning of/ infecting other creatures into becoming sin eaters or relying on light based abilities cause a feedback loop of corrupted light [would be everyone around them but that would just be an excuse just to grief mechanic wise] End of Spoiler Warning!!!!
if the job was ever implemented i would expect it only be started once the expansion's MSQ is completed like every job's 80 quest
3)the way i thought of the playstyle, the whole point of it is normally you shouldn't be aiming to even go beyond 75% as you deploy and dismiss the various minions and abilities. pushing beyond and the transformation is there for a last desperation attack to win a match when nearly all the rest of the party has been wiped and there's around 5-10% of the bosses hp left.
so any thoughts?
