Could be Heavy...
But isn't Heavy only reduce movement speed?....
Adding a Slow would make Gravity incredibly powerful actually. But I have a feeling it would never happen, since tanks already have Arm's Length. But I certainly wouldn't mind an additional effect on Gravity. Not sure how fitting it would be, but it could also increase the damage taken by the enemies by 3% for some seconds or something like that? With diminishing returns, obviously.
This is actually a very good idea, it would bring Gravity a little utility akin to Holy and would help to reduce the needed heal output for AST during large pulls. It might even be more useful than the old CO stun we used to have.
Don't let my negativity fool you though! I would LOVE to have Slow on Gravity. It would make sense. It would make the spell really powerful. Not as apowerful as Holy, since you'd only be slowing down the rate of damage taken by the tank and not completely stopping it for 6-7 seconds. That would be perfectly fine by me. And it might actually make Nocturnal Sect useful for dungeon pulls?
It would be really helpful for both tank and astros to have some kind of CC with gravity.
I personally like to pop divination and sleeve draw lady/lord for the DPS to burn those big pulls. Would really help me to breathe if we got it.
Kinda funny how Urianger has a Gravity spell he casts that inflicts Heavy and Slow. Really makes those big pulls you can do as Tank go easier.
I mean when you think about it, that would actually make perfect sense.
Actually, this does sound like a great idea. Gravity having a slow effect would be pretty cool, it would help with healing and even mitigation for Tanks in larger pulls dungeon wise. I don't think it has DR either, so it wouldn't effect tanks ability to use Arms Length on their own. Not Heavy though, save that for maybe a effect for PVP.
I kinda like the idea xD
will it help if we overbuff astro again like in SB ? hell yeah, but not for poor whm ... how about no ?
you can't erase pain in 2 last expanions so easy, I will fight for WHM to don't get this pain again
its better for me if whm stay strong at least one expanion, SCH and ASTRO had thier time
well SCH is strong as ever too in terms of healing and numbers
like I said that before, after SB I lost all my patience ...
Nothing in that live letter said that. All they said was that they're going to keep the current card ast system for now. Theres ways besides changing cards back to their sb versions they can buff ast, such as buffing their personal dps. And to be honest, once they got ED back scholar got what they needed, the only thing I can think of at this point is to fix the bugs with pet responsiveness.
Wasnt speaking about the live letter friend, somebody was complaining that gravity having slow would make AST too op, this person also complains any time SCH/AST get any improvement that they needed. They complained after AST got potency boosts, that they desperstely needed to do their job.
AST AoE has range.
SCH AoE is PBAoE but instant cast.
WHM AoE is PBAoE but has stun.
Tradeoffs.
I would love if they give CO stun back instead or maybe slow on CO huh.
the range hardly helps though, SCH can weave in 2 abilities with each AoW and WHM stuns leading to enemies doing no damage. AST has to completely stop and heal. Giving them a slow to help them mitigate some damage so they can heal a little less and dps a little more hardly comes off as OP.
Honestly, the fact that it is a targeted cast the worst part for me.
"Oh boy, my cast of Gravity is almost done! I cant wait to see the big damage~!"
"Oh no, the BRD killed it before my cast finished, now it just looks like Ive been sitting around not doing anything."
I have the same problem with the three magical DPS jobs too. I vastly prefer WHM and SCH AoE spells because of it.
The Cast for any AoE magic spell should be able to finish without a Target. I realize it's a coding issue but being able to finish casting an AoE dps spell on any mage class after the target has died would be a serious Quality of Life upgrade. Gravity did see a minor buff with the cast time reduction that I really appreciated. Now they can weave one ability in per cast which was a huge improvement. I can't wait for the next update to see if they are going to really dig in to improving the healers because so far this Role as a whole has been kind of lackluster in this expansion.
It should have been there from the start.
The spell is Gravity. The thing that weighs other things down.
I do agree, slow would be a great effect to put onto Gravity. It wouldn't solve ALL my problems with AST's current state, but I would be tempted to try it out again if my main AOE DPS spell had some extra utility (a'la WHM).
I wouldn't mind, but it'd never happen. SCH and WHM have to stand close to do their AoE, while us AST can cast AoE from a distance.
