you can still use grid and LL inn's
They said the Inn's in Gridania and Limsa are not effected.
Sure will be glad when people stop huddling in Uldah all the time. Uldah's Inns are the only one's that are restricted for now, Gridania's and Lim-Lom's are still up and fine.
Crisis mode because they're stuck in Uldah, see? This is why people need to stop Hubbing!
BACK IN MY DAY WE HAD TO DOBLYN UPHILL BOTH WAYS IN THE SNOW FOR MAYBE 70 SP AND WE LOVED IT >:C
:x I just came here to see what was going on when I couldn't get into Ul'dah's inn. Didn't wanna make a thread about it so I came to see if there already was one. XD
Had to go stop in Gridania's inn instead. Slight inconvenience, no real problem though. :3
If they made airship pass or some way to make airship cost cheaper by completing quest or w/e I wouldn't mind going to Limsa every time.
5k/trip after a while isn't cheap lol
+ if they made chat channel system where you can listen to shouts say in Uldah while in Limsa or Gridania would be nice also.
I'm rather enjoying my Gridanian accommodations.
Greetings,
I wanted to update all of you that Ul’dah’s inn will be re-instated in patch 1.21a!
On top of that, here are a few changes that are planned for inns.
We plan on adding the following features in patch 1.22:
• Players will be able to use “Return” to get back to inns
• Players will be able to store seasonal event items/achievement reward items/job-specific armor/etc. in the memorabilia bin (temp name) in the room
Also, in response to the question regarding the maximum limit of the resting bonus, players will reach the maximum limit within a week or so. Unfortunately, we don’t have a good answer to provide yet for those asking to be able to sleep in the bed, but we are looking into a way to implement this.
Too late! Kabutos have no place in my inventory! mwahahaha *returns to Ul'dah and crashes to death... Twice*
I see SE has a good response time on fixing this issue
Great news:
Also just another thought. Can we store Beastmen Coins in here too? As of right now, they have no place in the game, but the Dev team has yet to tell us that they will for sure never have a place. Therefore, many of us have been hanging onto them 'just in case' But as there are several different beastmen tribes AND each tribe has different types of coins, it can clog up your inventory fast.
That or can we just have a NPC who collects them like FFXI had?
Thanks ;)
Let's face it. Once Ishgard get's released, it's going to be the Mega-hub of all Eorzea. It's gonna be the Jeuno of XIV.
I love the Limsa Inn i like the smell of sea salt in the air
i have a suggestion about the inns also, can we have retainers reside there if they're not in the MW; we can also have them doing random things like sitting at a desk reading or sitting on the bed too!!
basically have our retainers live in our inns
I can't blame it. Ul'dah is a trade city after all. Only makes sense that there so many of us there.
I find alot of people complaining about it being a hub. You shout for parties there too as well, I'm sure.
...Ishgard...
SE purposely broke Uldah inn so people would move to the other cities. Otherwise the Inn would already be back up by now.
Return to inn should be pretty nice (really nice actually). Other feedback huh?
Please put the Ul'dah wards into maintenance for a week. City balance! Ci...
*is impaled by a unicorn*
We have finalized the plans for being able to return to inns and we wanted to share them with you:
- It won’t be possible to “Teleport” to an inn
- Players can choose to “Return” to inns, in addition to their currently set home point
- Only one inn can be set at a time
That said, we still want to hear your feedback and will pass it along to the team!
As you are using the Return function I would imagine that you will exit to the city that the inn is located in. My question is will we be able to set the inn we want as we can set our home points?
As for the problem of overcrowding in Ul'Dah I do not forsee this problem being fully resolved until Ver 2.0. At that time we will have new servers and game machanics that will allow for linking the Market Wards allowing players to better utilize all 3 cities.....at least til they open up Ishgard <Jueno>. Thyen the fun begins again.
inns are useless untill the level cap is raised, for me at least. But i will be happy to have home point at uldah and limsa.
Hmmm, while I really like the ability to return to an Inn, I have to admit, I can't say I like the direction this and a few other things are going in. It's not something so simple as saying "I don't like this feature" or "I don't like that feature". Rather, the general direction of "complexity" worries me. As a UI designer myself (though I work primarily in web page design) all of these special cases really bother me. We just keep getting more and more complex special cases; which in turn require more and more complex interfaces to support them. "You can set a regular home point, but also an Inn return point, but only on one at a time, and to return to one, select return, then where you want to return to...".
It's not a huge hassle by itself, but it's one of a growing number of little special cases that lead to top-heavy, unweildly UIs. Just look at our Attributes menu, with it's pages and pages of separate information for, frankly, not much correlated content. They could have made it so that you set the Inn as your home point and avoided the need to at least add another button, probably another entire menu.
To be fair to both sides, I do understand that they may have done this because of the way the "Return" system works; adding a new one may have just taken less time than reworking the current one. In which case, it can be streamlined easily in 2.0. I'm just starting to get more and more worried about the UI bloat we have been seeing recently. They did a good job cutting it down 3-4 patches ago, I just don't want to see them take three steps back now.
Favorable. Most people prefer to always have their HP in a town, but are tempted to change it to easily access repeat content (Ifrit and Moogle come to mind). With this change, no one has to choose between keeping Ul'dah HP and quickly obtaining more of Ifrit's dark matter!
I often set my HP at Camp Broken Water when running Ifrit runs, and when I'm not it's commonly set as Ul'dah. With this plan in place I think I might just keep Gridania set as my Inn return point (I really like the inn at Gridania more) and switch off as needed for the other. I can see the reason they probably don't allow "Teleport" is the fact that everyone in your party receives a teleport request. It'd be cool teleporting everyone to your room but may likely cause problems. The only biggest downfall I really see of this is everyone will set their inn location as the Quicksand (Ul'dah) and just leave it that way. At least until the rooms are locked from use again if they aren't already by the time this feature goes live.
Also might it be possible to get information about setting inns as a favored spot for "Return"? Will it cost gil to set a room? Will we need to complete any additional quests? And will the 15-minute delay timer apply to using either Return point? Meaning if I Return to my room, will I be locked out of using Return again to travel to a say Turning Leaf if my Return point is set there?
