rants about rmt, gm's and the new stats requirement

today as all of north america felt it...

SE did a massive swoop on RMT and botters..... 7500 account "banned" and we got rewarded with 2 hours of living hell and endless queues to get back in the game...

you know what was the first thing i saw when i logged back in the game? advertisement for 4kgolds and pvpbank... and that was what... 20 minutes after the DDOS occured then i saw 8 man army in north shroud follwing each other happyly while porting all the same time and vanishing at the same time.

As far as i am concerned i dont give a buttcrak about them. But if SE and "LGM GM" are so motivated to remove RMT and botters... they should simply stop showing off that they closed an account and actually BANNING THE CREDIT CARD NUMBER tyed to the account instead. to make sure that the botters and RMT are actually removed from the game... its like putting a band aid on a broken leg.. makes no sense!


also with SHB, as i was not introduced long enough in the SB content to feel the raid and ex mode, came a new stats trend.. crit hit and det..... seriously...... tanks are squishyer than in 2.0 since they have no mitigation stats and are turned into heavy armor dpser an turning healers into dpser.... because excuses excuses excuses all revolving around not enough dps on a tank or healer.... YOU'RE A TANK FOR MOGGLES SAKE! your job is to live through the hits you take and keep monsters away from the healer and dps.... not be 5th place dps and spend your time playing world star yoyo with your health bar!!!!!

healers i cant say much as i main all 3 and ironicly they have almost the same stats as dps: crit and det or crit hit depending on how badly you dream of being a dps that relies entirely on your 5 cooldowns during fights to heal( aka 1 heal every 2 minutes more or less)

would be about time that the so called "elite" went to the math class and knocked down some number for mitigation so we actually have a tank that can live through tank busters. instead of doing everything in their power to turn the game into a dps race, because it's too complicated to math down number for survival instead, like in many other mmos that are dieing.

ALSO regarding the god freakking 30 minutes penalty...

if i queue up for duty roulette or specific duty and i have to answer irl, go to the toilet, take care of my kid and miss the call... WHY THE HELL ARE WE TREATED LIKE WE ABANDONNED A DUTY!?!??! we arent even in it.
i wouldn't complain if we were in the duty and abandonned it willintg fine.
but if i have to change a diaper, feed my baby answer the phone or take a dump.... im not going to tell my kid : hey STHU!!!! im busy your diaper and milk bottle can wait. with so many tanks healer and so many freakking dpser out there right now its not like someones going to complain if you kick you me off the queue list and put another player who queued for the same role in my place!~!!!!!!!!! and im not going to crap my pants to get in the duty and tell my group: guys give me 25 minutes! i need to go to the toilet finish taking my crap i started in my pants 10 minutes while waiting for the queue to start and then take a shower cuz that crap is all over my butt and my boxers......a little common sense here please SE?

You talk as if hitting oGCD mitigation cooldowns while doing a rotation is the hardest thing in the world...

You do know that RMTs use stolen credit cards to avoid having any impact whatsoever if the credit card number is banned right?

Also, Tanks have an innate 20% damage mitigation, and bonus HP increase, built into them for being Tanks. All that was removed from them was the DPS nerf they took for having their aggro stance on. The only tank specific stat is Tenacity which is rather weak. Especially in comparison to Crit/DH/Det which improves your recovery for tanks with lifesteal hits (WAR), self heal on hit (GNB/DRK), or Healing spells (PLD).

Healers got their DPS nerfed (except for WHM) and homogenized. Their specific stat is Piety which is prioritized before Crit/Det/DH until you hit a point where you are comfortable in your MP income. Keep in mind that Crit and Det both directly increase the amount healed. Note that SE actually tried to make healers have to heal more... which means mobs and bosses hit tanks harder to give the healers something to do.

if i had to choose between crit stacking and tenacity stacking where ever its medlable and stackable on gear. if we can reach 3200 crit on a tank im pretty sure we can reach a number of tena that should be around the same

and of course usa banks will allow credit card thieves to go unpunished....american express, mastercard, visa, discovery ...all american credit card companies.... and we all know that you cant have more temper tantrum than an american losing money.....the last one being JCB bringing 62.7B usd..... to the us government..... i doubt it would go unpunished by the us government so please stop using its tolen credit card.... everything in the usa tied to credit card theft has a legal penalty for breaking the law

The hell you talking about? Tanks have gotten it easy since ShB release.
We haven't gotten squishier at all, and we no longer need to worry about aggro at all.

We get flat 20% mitigation, an HP buff, and a damage buff AT LEVEL 1.

On the RMT side, I wonder who they're actually banning. I personally know people that bot and rmt, they've been doing this since like the end of 2.5 without getting caught at all. I wonder if the program they use is just that good.

If you have a kid, plan around the kid. You know your kid eats at x time or you know your kid poops around x hours after eating. The world doesn't stop because you decided to ruin your life, I mean have a kid.

The problem is that Tenacity as a stat requires considerably more then any other stat in order to actually provide much of a bonus. 3200 tenacity provides less then 3200 crit, DH, or even Det when it comes to improving sustain. It is why Tenacity is considered to be a noob trap of a stat. It tries to do too much in one stat which makes it require a lot of it to function which in turn makes it undesirable due to how stat requirements scaling work.

im not blaming everything on the game but common things called LOGIC would actualyl to kick me out of queue and send the next in line in my place and so on. im ot in the group or abandoning my duty. im just not able to do it at the moment the queue procs.

lemme ask you a question for good measure because obviously your anser tends to show you didnt have kids or someone else took care of them:

you feed your kids... he goes to sleep or so he pretends to and throws up the food he hasnt digested....

A- let him gag on his vomit to not miss queue?

thats just one of the bazillions possibilites of having kids and irl issues

What healers are you playing that have “1 [oGCD] heal every 2 minutes more or less”?

WHM: Assize—45s; Tetra—60s; Asylum—90s; Benediction—180s. This isn’t counting the lilies, which generate during active combat and are instant cast. And you actually want to use these after your oGCDs are exhausted.

SCH: Lustrate—3s recast; Indomitability—30s; Sacred Soil—30s; Excogitation—45s; Recitation—90s. This isn’t counting fairy abilities, such as Whispering Dawn (60s) and Seraph’s abilities (120s). Yeah, some are dependent on Aetherflow, but Aetherflow is up every 60s and you should use it on CD. Plus, you have Dissipation every 180s to grant you a full three stacks in a pinch.

AST: Celestial Intersection—30s; Essential Dignity—2 charges, 40s; Earthly Star—60s; Horoscope—60s; Collective Unconsious—90s; Celestial Opposition—120s. Yeah, some of these need potency buffs (AST needs potency buffs in general), but they’re still there for you to use.


Again, I don’t know what healers you’re playing that have only 1 oGCD heal every 2 minutes. Sounds like you aren’t using your toolkit to its most effectiveness.

You don't get a penalty for not accepting the queue unless it happens 3 times. Maybe don't queue into dungeons again and again when you're busy or about to do other stuff? :confused:

Because Piety stacks poorly at 80, to the point it's a near worthless stat in spite of most 80 gear having it pasted on. Crit is essential for SCH's on the other hand because our shields rely on the stat to be the most affective. Same thing with Determination. It increases damage done yes, but it also increases HEALING done and is probably one of the most essential stats for all healers. You want Piety to matter? Make SE fix it so that it actually gives good returns, because people /have/ crunched the numbers and it's just not worth it.

As for tanks not lasting, it has more to do with people not having overpowered gear and forgetting that things hit HARD at the start of every expansion. The same thing happened back in Stormblood and it tapered off by the time 4.2 rolled around.

I'm fully melded with direct hit and tank just fine while consistently putting out 6-6.5k DPS, so I don't get what your problem is, I've never had a healer complain at me.

30 minutes isn't huge. Nobody likes people ditching instances. You will survive. It's all wasted time anyway.

They aren't going to block a source of revenue. They ban the bots only for them to buy the game again and resub. They also couldn't boast their high player base numbers if they permanently got rid of the botters and rmt peddlers.

The bots does not "buy" the game though, they use stolen credit card information which leads to refunds.

It takes 3 times before you incur the penalty. If you are having to go afk that frequently, maybe stop queueing when it is around the time your baby may need something. Yes, there will be emergencies, but as a parent myself... I can 100% guarantee that feeds and diaper changes are rarely random.

Banning the credit card won't work. Most RMT places use corporate credit card systems. You can generate a new card number linked to your account pretty quickly. Also, I'm sure SE would rather get paid those huge amounts of 1 month subs every month that they can legit ban and keep the cash rather than prevent altogether. Of course there's also just using stolen CCs.
Can't ban the IP, they just use VPN to get around that.
Could ban names like Askdjla Jsdijal but then they'd just start taking up names you might want.

What could they do to fix it for real?
Hire a team of 10 to 12 people paid minimum wage, 4 people to an 8 hour shift. Have them log into the game, and go to each city on each server. Easily identify RMT people blatantly breaking the rules. Ban them. Rotate through each server throughout your 8 hour shift. This is by far the most profitable property SE has right now. If they can't afford that, they are full of it. Would it have an immediate noticeable impact? Most definitely.

This might actually be what they already do, and the reason you still see so many RMT in-game is because they wait and ban tons at once. Waiting allows them to track the accounts and follow patterns so they can catch more accounts to ban at a time. However it leaves the playerbase with the perception nothing is being done.

Even if they did this properly, it would likely just increase the market in account selling. It also doesn't do much to stop the mercenary groups that use discord to get people to RMT for EX fight clears. Same groups doing it in Roulette PF for damn near a year.

From what I am seeing the 33 tenacity for 0.1% dmg potency and dmg reduction seems to be fairly accurate. So 330 for 1% is about right.


If it was 140 per 1% my pld I am leveling atm would have nearly 20% dmg reduction with food, which it 100% does not.



Tenacity is the lowest in terms of dmg boost a tank can get when comparing all the materia. But the trade off it adds more defense which the others do not.
So tanks need to decide is a 3-4% dmg loss worth 6-7% more dmg reduction. Most endgame people will say no actually because you do not need the defense to clear the content so with all things FFXIV DPS > All due to DPS checks.

U know SE isnt gnna bann the credit card. Banning 7k accounts makes them more money, imagine 7k accounts rebuying a cd key for 40$ + a new $15 monthly. Every other month.

Exactly. Even as a person without kids, if I know I'm going to be busy or simply know I could be at a moment's notice I typically avoid queues that can take anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour depending on the content and/or group. I wouldn't necessarily call children inconveniences though, as much as they can potentially cause quite a few. It's all about planning around what life has to throw at you. I have no doubt it can be even crazier for someone with kids, but...the OP needs to realize that, well, sometimes life happens, and it takes priority over any game. An in game penalty, and a temporary one at that, since they can hop right back into queue, is trivial at best. I've come across many people through my MMO years that have been able to play their game and manage their RL just fine, even with kids.
