Please let us exit a MSQ cutscene without skipping it

Just had my roulette queue pop at the start of a MSQ cutscene and I was on a different class so I couldn't accept without "Skip cutscene?". I don't want to skip story cutscenes so had no choice but to miss my roulette pop, gaining me one strike withdrawal for the day, as well as putting me back at the end of the queue. Role Waiting Number: After #50.

Please, can we have the option to "Exit cutscene" that will reset the quest back to the start? For situations where we need to exit watching cutscenes but don't want to skip them.

Popping in here to give my approval for this. I took quite a few hits in duty finder during ShB as I refused to skip those cutscenes.

You can always rewatch them in your inn room (or your house or apartment if you have the housing item).

It kind of sucks that people make you feel like you have to skip them. Although usually nobody says anything. The fact that everybody is rushing makes you feel like you don't have a lot of choice. Although you can watch them in your room. Its not the same as watching them when they are actually happening.

At least those cutscenes that are triggered by talking to an NPC or interacting with a location, if you enter a duty while watching, you will be placed back to the moment before you started the cutscene, when you return. The quest objective won't mark as complete until the cutscene is either skipped or completely watched. Not sure what happens if it's one of those cutscenes that are triggered by merely walking to a location, but those are a rarity.

If you're on a different job when DF pops, then yeah, you're kinda boned. It's just a strike though; I get those all the time but only once have I actually been struck out.

If you plan on doing something cutscene-laden while in DF I would advise not changing classes if you can help it.

A lot of cutscenes aren't in the Unending Journey. Like, the past 3 times I went to look for a cutscene I had to skip, none of them were there.

The problem the OP is having though is that they've changed to a different job from what they entered the DF queue with, meaning they are unable to accept the DF ping while in the cutscene, and they aren't able to change back to the queued class without skipping the cutscene.

Either not all of them or they only show up in there after completing a certain amount of stuff after it.
A friend had this exact thing happen a few days ago and couldn't find it in the inn room and had to find it on youtube, and it's a thing I've had happen to me in the past too.

I really don't know why this isn't an option.
It's easy to brush it off with "then just don't queue for stuff when you're doing the msq" but if your queue estimate is around half an hour or something what do you expect to happen.

OP is referring to quest cutscenes, not in-dungeon. Y'know. Queue up a duty and run some quests while you wait.

Correct me if I'm mistaken, but doesn't accepting a queue in the middle of a cutscene cancel the cutscene and therefor being able to watch it from the start once back again?
I'm sure I have some faint memory if used to be like that.

I've had this as well. There is at least 1 MSQ cutscene that you can not watch again... so if you skip it (like I did), the only way to view it is to find it on youtube. There likely are others as well that do not show up (either MSQ or job/role/side quest). Otherwise if it is viewable in the inn, you still have to finish the quest before it will show up for re-watching

I realize that . But my comment was a nitpik on the fact that in dungeons you feel the need to skip cutscenes. Sorry for straying from the original subject.

I was on a different class. To have accepted the queue, I would have had to exit/skip the cutscene to change jobs.

While watching them at the Inn is a nice backup, as many people have said, not all of the cutscenes are avaliabe and certainly nearly none of the flavour text. Plus, this new expansions story is so fantastic I want to experience it as its happening, not at my FC house.

I never do msq when i'm in queue, that way i don't have to withdraw or lose a CS. I do other things and continue msq after my queue.

Another solution may the opposite: if queue pops up, give us all the interface (not only the df one) so we can change job and accept.

Can we also maybe have a pause button? For those times when we have to step away for a second. I have a kid like many folks do, and sometimes we just a need a sec to deal with them. Meanwhile there goes my cs playing in the background despite hitting esc and hoping it'd pause, but nope it plays away with the "skip cutscene yes/cancel" overtop.

I know this might not be the best solution, but if you don't want to go back to the Inn right after the duty to re-watch it, and you really want to see the cut scene; you could just abandon the quest and start from the beginning of it.

I know that sucks if it was a long quest or a difficult one, but there is that option too.

Yes it does, but you can’t accept the queue when you are in different class of your queuing, not switching class in middle of cut scene

Like I run MSQ with 1 job but I usually do my daily with other job, I have to either skip the cut scene and rewatch it in inn(I am not sure if I still got to choice my dialog) or I have to let the queue timer ran out

I may have missed it but I didn't find a way to abandon a MS quest. The cutscene wasn't in the inn at least before turning in the quest. Had to watch it on YouTube.

Huh? I've had queues pop mid cutscene and I can go into the duty and restart the cutscene later because it never regisered my quest progress.

I've accepted ques while in a cutscene and it never skipped it just restarted it from the beginning when I got out of the dungeon

It's been said a few times already, but this doesn't work if you're doing the cutscene on a different job. You have to skip cs, change job and then accept queue.

Actually for some reason, some cutscenes don't even allow you to cancel them to go into a duty, even if you're in the same class as you queued with.

I had to skip one of the cutscenes with the Exarch in the tower because I thought I'd be fine with going into a roulette mid+cutscene when to my surprise, the button to go in wasn't doing anything and giving out an error sound. I had to skip the cutscene and watch it again later after finishing that roulette and quest (cutscenes for a certain quest only show up on the Unending Journey after you finish that quest)

Not before you completed the quest without knowing what was happened in the cut scene.

Can't believe this has not been implemented yet.

I hardly post on these threads but for once I will agree. The penalty we get by not being able to accept queues while in cut scenes we cannot participate in as being another job is a bit ridiculous and unacceptable, they should really implement something to remove this punishment.

You didnt need to necro a 5 year old thread, but well whatever. This issue has been adressed already. You can accept quests and your progression will be reseted to the previous checkpoint. There are also multiple warnings, that lengthy cutscenes are about to happen.
