Opinions on Seraph abilities

1. Anybody wish that whispering dawn and fey illumination were stronger when used by the Seraph? They are literally the same ability/effect just replaced by a different icon and name. Not going to lie at first I thought they were stronger but it was all a lie! ;- ;

2. Consolation is great, on demand instant succor with 2 charges no problem there.

3. I really really wish you could manually choose who the Seraph would "Embrace" I forgot the Seraph's version of it. Sometimes I feel like you only get 2 GCD heals off the fairy. 20 seconds seems pretty short to me lol

4. Make Fey Covenant and illumination separate again lol Idc if the potency is how they are now, just sucks being forced to use both at the same time.

What are your thoughts?

I thought all her skills would be more powerful than Eos/Selene ones too ^^' even just a bit but it's not the case.

Imo Seraph isn't so useful right now, mostly for a lv80 skill and behind a 120sec cooldown i thought it would be more "awsome", animations are cool but well...i'm not really impressed by her skills.

We have lots of aoe it's a good point for sure but i have a feeling of uncomplete gameplay in general concerning the SCH anyway.

Is it safe to say that Seraph has the same stat scaling as Eos? In which case... why are Whispering Dawn and Fey Illumination the exact same? Seraph is supposed to be our Ultimate, but she only adds shields to her heals and a AoE heal that shields. I've yet to reach 80 on Scholar, but I'd like to have seen her abilities be a bit more... powerful.

SCH at 80 is underwhelming. I could forgive the Seraph versions of Whispering Dawn and Fey Covenant if the abilities were separate, like I could pop one and then the other once she leaves. On paper SCH seems okay, but our resources are a mess; Aetherflow, MP, Fey Gauge, Pet skills all are a jumble. Oh and just like at the begining of SB, they nerfed some our heals but gave us no adjustments in other places. I understand the faerie is "free" healing, but honestly the way she is now she's not as helpful since Embrace is really low. Plus the other skills all cost a resource, so how is that any different from the other healers. When SCHs get another spammable heal that isnt the lackluster Physick or Succor then we'll talk about being OP. But until then you cant nerf the faerie into oblivion if she's supposed to make up for the lack of those skills.

She's not terrible with her effective 400pot single target heal and the effective 600pot consolations you get... But she honestly just feels somewhat like the 3.x fairy. Like our whole Cooldown is to slightly un-nerf our fairy.

It's visually stunning but practically underwhelming for a 2min cd that only lasts 20 seconds. I'd rather she be like 1.5min and eat some fairy gauge. Or last longer.

By the time she appears and does her animation its already been 5 seconds of your 20 LOL. The fact that Whispering Dawn and Fey illumination have different names/icons of the Seraphs yet use the same CD timer is incredibly stupid. She'd be SO GOOD if they didn't share the same timer as EOS'.

She's really weak for such an important ability / CD.

In addition to the shielding on her embrace, Seraph's major benefit is Consolation, which is a 300 potency heal with 100% shield that she can use twice. This is almost the equivalent of two free deployment tactics adloquiums, which is also a 300 potency with a 125% shield. So the shield is a little weaker (and can't be recitation'd), but that's still pretty powerful. The whispering dawn and illumination equivalents are just there because Eos had them, and Selene is just a skin-suit she sometimes wears so Seraph might as well have Eos's abilities.

Not sure about this for all cases but I've noticed that if seraph is casting seraphic veil on a target near the end of her time and you try to get in a fairy ability or consolation you more than likely lose the ability as her desummoning animation takes priority but the ability goes on cooldown after the press. Not ideal when you need the regen and then seraph decides to clock out and take it with her only for the other fairy to come back and shrug at you while you decide what to do with your life.

Though you can instantly queue her ability after you clicked your Seraph summon skill. She'll do it before the animation is over.

Pet Potency is less than Player Potency, it's 2/3. So that 300 potency goes down to 200 in actual use. It's still a good ability but it's not Adlo level, it is about the same as another Succor.

I'd have been happier if Seraph simply replaced Eos altogether. Shes not all that powerful on her own as a 2 minute cooldown.
Temperence and Neutral Sect are far more powerful than what Seraph offers for the same durations and cooldowns.

Then we'd just have Selene/Eos/Seraph options for visual effects. Would give us more opportunity to apply DPS with the mini shields going out.

Forgive me if I'm wrong here, but wasn't that because the Maim and Mend traits didn't apply to the fairy in previous expansions? The tooltip in Shadowbringers specifically states that it also applies to pets now, which it didn't in Stormsblood. I had thought this was something they were to address as part of making pet skills into player actions.

I will test potency values when I'm home, but given the pet is no longer really a pet I'll be disappointed if it's still true.

The only "good" thing is that if we use Seraph, she doesn't take away from our kit. Fey Blessing is basically replaced with Consolation, so yay?. But this is the issue with Dissipation. Temperance and Neutral Sect are pure buffs, with a bit of a side benefit. Dissipation, offers Aetherflow and a healing buff, but at the expense of half our kit. I know it wont happen soon but in addition to removing Dissipation, I hope they put Seraph in its place. She's a bit underwhelming now, but if moved to 60 Seraph would make a decent cap skill.

Also could you please fix the Summon Eos/Summon Selene skills. As they are now, they are the same skill. Could we please just replace them with a Summon Lily skill, you know the faerie's actual name, and use the Egi glamour system to choose which appearance we like. Then maybe we could get another skill, maybe?

I checked Embrace before and after expansion and they were still 2/3. And checking just now ingame, my Adlo averages 9352 at Player Potency 300, Consolation averages 6459 at Pet Potency 300, which still puts it at that same 2/3 potency area.

I wish Seraph didn't have her own versions of Whispering Dawn and Fey Illumination because it's just a wasted tooltip. It would make sense if summoning her reset the timers for Fey Illumination and Whispering Dawn so that she was truly a Cap Skill worth having but she doesn't... All the glorious animations don't make her feel any more impactful. The fairy glitches that keep making my abilities go on cool down without being used are atrocious. I'm also getting tired of my fairy being killed by every cut scene. Checking to see if the fairy placement bar is available to be sure she's summoned is annoying. Scholar has a hundred ways to heal and annoy you. The Aetherflow lock out outside combat, bland DPS, super expensive Art of War, and the laziest Selene rework possible make it feel like the Devs don't actually like Scholar. I'm only glad they didn't nerf every healing potency like they did Astro. Both Healers are the worst classes hands down in Shadow ringers for satisfaction.

I'd make 3 changes:
Aetherpact now makes fairy cast a mid/high potency heal costing 10 fairy gauge. ( Rather than the tether that locks skills away when its active.)

Seraph is no longer on a CD, but can only be summoned when on 100 fairy gauge. She consumes fairy gauge at a rate of 10 per 2 seconds. She can be dismissed whenever you want after summoning her. (She still consumes a base tick just for summoning her)

Fairy Charge is a new Aetherflow dump skill. Spend 1 AF stack to give your fairy 20% healing power for 5 seconds and charge the fairy gauge by 20.

Actually, given fairy stats, I'm not even sure it's better than 1 deployed Adlo. Assuming no crits...

You're spreading a 300 x 1.25 potency shield (375). Now fairy stats have been hit and their actual healing is really weak. At i436, an Adloquium does about 9.5k which translates to an 11,875 shield. Consolation heals for 6.5k that's a 6500 x 2 (since you can use it twice) shield or a 13,000 shield. However, let's keep in mind that Adlo is a spell, so it benefits from buffs to healing and heals more for Warriors. But for arguments sake, Consolation, if used twice is SLIGHTLY stronger than one deploy Adlo.

Seraph is overall underwhelming. Her versions of illumination and whisper are exactly the same. Seraphic Veil is a marginally better, but single target Succur. Not to mention, the buff does not stack, so using Consolation in double succession does not yet double shield. The only way to maximize consolation is to cast on top of succor or adlo for stacking shields.

She's a bit underwheilming, while her embrace is great you can't choose her target so there will be times when she will heal someone who doesn't need to be healed, Consolation is great too but I don't see the reason why it has 2 charges, seraph only last 15s (20-5 of summon animation) I dont see why would I want to heal twice in those 15s since the shields dont stack with themselves, her whispering dawn and fey illumination are the same as Eos so those skills doesn't give me a reason to summon her and she has a 120s cooldown which is way too high for what she brings to battle.

They're too weak for a capstone 2 min CD.

Pop a consolation as soon as you Summon her and you'll cancel that animation and make her start healing faster.

It's basically a better version of Rouse tbh. It's still stronger heals and the Seraphic Veil shields still stack with your own. It may not be as broken good as you want it to be but it's still good to have access to.

Underwhelming but not useless.
Only really shines in situations where she can get out the two AOE heals and have them be meaningful, but it's kinda hard to find those situations.
I guess just throwing her pre-pull just to keep the tank topped while you focus on DPSing during your opener isn't a bad idea.
