Is the new dialog window supposed to be an improvement?

For me it's a massive regression:

• The overall style is completely different from the style used for the speech bubbles, which makes the dialog window look really odd in comparison, like someone copied the dialog window from a game like 5-10 years ago
• Why does it have to be a whole bar across the width of the screen, and not just a small box around the dialog options?

I love the new Style. Overall the whole SHB Expansion feels like one of the old Final Fantasy RPG Games (I sometimes get some FF12/13 and FF8 feelings).

I like the new style. It screams... choices!

I've read (but not confirmed) that one reason we may not be able to replay some cutscenes in the inn is because of dialog options. If true, I suspect this change may have been a means of addressing that.

I think this style is a huge improvement. It's so much better than a generic choice box covering my character's face. It looks more like a proper dialogue system now.

It shouldn't be just a text bubble. More a thought bubble, because the MC is still thinking about the answer instead of saying it.

i like the new way. It feels more RPG-sh, which is obviously something they were trying to do. this expansions story feels way more like a RPG then ever before imo

When in fact there aren't any. Sure some of the NPC responses are cute.

Anyway, it's just a graphic change, and neither the original nor this look anything like the "speech bubbles".

I like it, reminds me of old KOTOR dialogue options.

I like the new style but that being said, it doesn't really match the current style for text bubbles and, visually speaking, it is strange to read a text bubble with a certain font/background/etc and then get to that dialogue wheel. Easier to read but, for a game that was always so top notch when it comes to art direction, I find it very weird.

Yeah, the new style works, but it looks out of place and overall I prefer the old style of dialong boxes.

I love the new style. Gives me much more of a single player Final Fantasy feel, which is nice for the MSQ part of things.

I really like the change, giving us more option and its way clear and better.

I like the new dialogue window. It looks more modern and does not pop right into the middle of the screen, often hiding my characters face.

It's probably an improvement over the old gray default menu appearance they used to use, but it also looks a little weird.

It feels like the gamepad main menu type, but you can choose not to use that if you want.

I thought about this before, in RPG Maker.
Speech bubbles look weird, as it seems like someone is speaking to you.
a tinted box looks like a dark voice is speaking to you
and a full screen, or box that goes to the screens edge (like in the pic) feels more like a 4th wall breaking inner decision.

So i actually agree with SE on this. it feels 'more' accurate.
