Should this even be possible? It had been only three days...
I have not played many hours since patch, and I already have two jobs with full AF. And more than half of a third...

it's not supposed to be a challenge...
I only have 2 AF, and only want 2 AFs. Bard is giving us problems. DRG, WHM and BLM are easy with a good party that has communication. ( mumble, vent ) Haven't done WAR. I saw monk wasn't so hard. Story was sick though.
It's not suppose to be "cut my nuts off hard" but rather enjoyable. I'm liking the fights, they aren't boring at all. I've done BLM fight a couple of times now to get everyone we know their full set. All wins after a few losses.
Hello,
The series of quests you refer to are not meant to be challenging for someone who is Level 50. Yes, they were completed quickly, but do keep in mind that it was completed by people who are already level 50 in all their classes.
Should anyone who is not level 50 already (including all new adventurers and those who have yet to train those classes), then such a feat is not possible, as it would require them to level from 30 to 50 as well.
If one keeps in mind one can only progress every 5 levels, then it is not a 'fast' feat that is easily accomplished.
Fortunately, for those who still seek challenges, there are many out there. Of course, most challenges can be solved by throwing as many BLM as you can find at the problem. But if you choose to not take that route, then a challenge shall await you.
AF was challenging in XI? lul
My LS and I are quite enjoying the difficulty/design of these quests. Almost all of the final battles have been really fun.
Only complaint I have is the final BLM fight requiring several BLM and the fact that you can wipe/the fight can spiral out of control and become unwinnable within seconds. Should be able to be done with a balanced party IMO.
First of all, while allowing us to switch classes for the last Job quests is nice to one extent, it would certainly be more 'interesting' and thus 'challenging' if this wasn't possible.
Oh, and
Extremely challenging content that's been beaten less than 48 hours after patch? {Hmmm.}Quote:
Cutter's Cry is an extremely challenging instanced raid meant for full parties of eight adventurers, consisting of Disciples of War and Magic at level 45 or higher.
Neither CC nor AV's mechanics are overly challenging to figure out at all but the execution for completion is not a cake walk. No one has even scratched the surface of SR5C for either instance which is where the bulk of the /airquotes extreme difficulty lies.
The armor is not supposed to be a huge challenge. It does sound like the AF weapons will be the prestige items, though. ^^
On a side note, from now until 2.0 is basically a promotional period with the exclusive content. They probably want to make sure most people who stick through it and pay can experience most off the stuff since some of it will be going away. ;)
Yeah I agree.
I was totally hoping I'd have to grind a rare item with a 0.01% drop rate off of level 60 mobs for one piece of gear, and fight four Ifrits in one arena to get my 15 minute skill.
Damn developers have no clue what they are doing we need more tedious content since it only takes about 3-4 hours to complete a job quest if you're already 50.
Quitting right now.
Now adays it is almost impossible to create a video game that WONT be beaten hours after patch/release. Honestly its a loose loose situation. Make it too hard and people complain its tedious and not fair, make it not hard enough and people whine its to easy. The point is these raids are fun, give us something to do...and not EVERYONE is beating them(Af armor missions included) 8 hours or 3 days after the fact. MOST players have an average learning curve.
You want challenge wait for AF2 lol
Difficulty was perfect and I love these quests. If it is too fast for you, do not play through 24 hours.
I also agree with the above coment, difficulty was perfect!!!
It has solo parts, it has party parts and you get some deaths here and there.
There is no point in doing something 1000 times to succeed, I only want to have fun.
If you dont want this to end quickly dont play 24/7, read the damn story texts and watch the cutscenes.
Took me 7 hours to get full Monk and I am taking my time with the rest of them, its not like next patch is tomorrow...
When I started my first job quest straight after the servers came back up I thought "no, SE why? Not just farming those damned NM's we've all solo'd a million times again!"
Then it became a bit more challenging and I was happy. Cutters cry was a nightmare until we figured out how to get around properly. Soe of the boss fights took five or six attempts before we figured out a strategy, which I think is about the right level of difficulty for af quests.
I'm fairly pleased, I think SE got this one right.
Oh look, it's this topic again.
Do us all a favor and post in the other five and stop wasting space on the forum.
AF is for higher levels.... I think that's where OP is getting at, the af shouldn't be so easy to obtain. I agree.
>walk up chest get af
>walk up chest get af
>walk up chest get af
>get 4-8 random people
>walk up chest get af
>walk up chest get af
I for one do NOT miss the old

System
its part of the level progression from now on not some endgame content, its a prerequisite for you being efficient at your job, don't expect AF to be the best gear for your job, its just an awesome looking stepping stone in your gear progression as time goes by and cap will go up.
and of course its easier when the whole server jumps on it at once.
doing the quests at the appropriate level and not getting groups handed to you on a silver platter like now will turn the challenge up quite a notch for future players
It's just artifact gear. The game is really unfinished I think
Oh gosh someone just raise the idea that it's easy because you have 50s class.
Think about new players and face it.
Just think about FFXI.. if you there's no AF quest and all you have todo is to lv to 75
then one day they add AF quest... and you can do it without any problem... that's wasn't SE's fault.
I love the way it is.. FFXI is sometime too much.
Well, AF in XI wasn't exactly a challenge to get either unless u count hours of farming for a key drop as hard. AF quests are not supposed to be challenging, it's not like we're fighting some epic boss battle for them.
The af was designed to be done at the level of the quest, think for a moment if you did af quests on FFXI at the level it was impossible solo, you needed help. But if a 75 came they could solo it all.
People are just rushing through on 50s, go do them at 30,35,40,45 then see if they are that easy.
I dunno, it just goes to hell so stupidly fast. After mulling it over though, it is an easy fight when you figure out what to do and DDing saving TP for AOE ws spam probably works just as well, so I don't really have any issue with the fight anymore. It was late and i was cranky =P
The AT quests had just the right amount of challenge and entertainment to them in my opinion. Each job had thoroughly detailed lore as well as an engaging quest storyline. The fights for the higher level quests as well as entering dungeons, both new and old, for some pieces was very fun as we did it as an LS and had a blast.
Many times during our running around post patch we thought of how much fun these would be for players new and levelling up - how much motivation they had to level.
The challenge for the AF is well balanced with their stats. On the other hand, I really look forward to getting some darklight gear.
no doubt at all on the existing af quests challenges everything was balanced.
Lol 40 hours of the 48 hours after the patch was spent trying to beat CC. When we did beat it we got 1 chest... So I guess you think its quite easy so I'm sure you are already getting 5 chests. Anways what Tsubaki says its true...could be a while before someone learns how to speed run and 5 chest it. The challenge is there all right...
