GATE: Leap of Faith - Too many people to perform mechanics easily

After trying Leap of Faith on the weekend... yes I know, bad idea... but...

They need to reduce the number of people in the instance. I don't know what would be a good maximum number so I'll leave that to the community experts. As it is right now, it is very difficult to succeed. It is nothing but a stream of players and seeing the platforms is very difficult, not to mention its almost more laggy than Eureka or the hunts.

Probably because the FFXV event is on and players are trying to get enough MGP for the Regalia. It'll die down when that event cycles out.

Find it easier to turn off the hud . Not seeing names jumping all over makes it a lot easier to see platforms

Limit the number of displayed characters in Character settings will help you a lot. There will be a lot less bodies on screen blocking platforms and the lag goes away too.

Wait to go in until it's been going 7 or 8 minutes. Then after 2 or 3 mins the people who jumped in instantly start getting booted. You get you 10 minutes to attempt it no matter when you start. If you start at 9 mins 59 secs you still get the full 10 minutes of playtime.

Or, sometimes if you click the NPC instantly you get a creepy as f*ck solo instance. I do worse on those than the overcrowded ones myself, and there's no way to guarantee you'll get it, but you can try it.

This one time, someone is shout "You're dress is making it hard to see jumps." I was wearing the Halone Fending Coat which looks like a very poofy dress from the back. So I switched. And like a bunch of other people did to. Then someone else chimed in "You people switching glam is making it hard to see jumps." And that just opened to floodgate of people shouting "X is making it hard to see jumps."

That would be nice if the game actually had such an option, which it doesn't ... well, it has, but only on PC. I don't understand why this isn't an option for PS4 players, as they struggle even more with lag when many players are on scene (as in Eureka).

The one I find the most annoying is that one where 'all' the platforms are small and attached to the statue and you just zig zag your way up until the very top....specially infuriating when there's lots of people *shudder*

what i usually do is wear the tidus outfit since it's so bright and will likely contrast with everything in the surrounding area

I ran the events to obtain the car for both my Machinist and Nashu , I waited until it died down some before my second car attempt due to the madness of not seeing the platform due to crowd turbulence.

I'm pretty sure there used to be separate instances for this and now there are not for whatever reason, meaning everyone now gets crammed into one. The rush is waaaaaay worse than it used to be when this GATE was first introduced.

It'll die down some now that the rush for the car is done.

Still Data center wide instead of server, but down a little.

It'll pick up again during the Make It Rain Campaign.

And then die off until more rewards get added for MGP.

Such is the life cycle of the Gold Saucer.

This has been going on since well before the car event even started, and also before the 2m MGP mount was released, so I'm not counting on it tbh.

Also I tried this too, it doesn't do anything. Even at minimum it still seems to show everyone else in the zone.

IMO everyone in there should be invisible other than anyone you've entered in a party with.

Personally haven't had much problem with it. I feel the extra people are just more obstacles that make the event more challenging and fun, but guess that's just me.

hard targeting yourself might help a bit, you'll get the target Circle underneath you...

I know when I got my super duper hyper car of awesome and action taxi services 2 something weeks ago I loled at how people reacted in leap of fate. All the miqos and au ras jumping fro mhere to there always made me giggle. We always look like kiddos when we do events like that and I can do nothing but laugh. It's great xD

Even if the FFXIV X FFXV event ended, you still have people doing the event for the 2 million MGP mount since it was released.

Nowadays, I just take a little extra time to angle my jumps and focus on getting from one platform to the next. I already got my Golden cactaur collection achievements, so no rush for me on my end.

They didn't make it any more fun trying to do hunts in 2.x (especially back when I was on PS3) and they don't make it any more fun here.

Why should your fellow players just be serving as "obstacles" in an event with zero competitive element? That kind of goes against the spirit of a primarily-cooperative MMO, don't you think?
