Well if you had no real reason to hold onto them other than "just in-case" why not just discard them? If it's not on the list it's very likely it's not to be traded in or I'm pretty sure they'd have added it to the already lengthy list.
Yeah i guess.. I really dont care to discard lol . But it would be nice to say well at least i can get x amonut of seals if it drops again jaja
The dev. team will be looking into whether or not they will allow Ifrit and Moogle weapons to be traded for Grand Company seals.
Thank you for the suggestion! :D
Weren't the moogle weapons supposed to be enhanced so that the MP return effect procs for spells? What happened to this?
After the amount of time it takes to get these weapons, there is no way i will discard them until there is something worth trading for.
It would be nice to be able to trade in duplicates of the primal weapons. At least I wouldn't feel it's a total waste when I get 5 CNJ/WHM weapons when I have no plans on playing that class/job.
Can you make it so we can trade back grand company gear for a partial refund as well please?
I was sitting on 13 moogle weapons until I noticed they weren't on the list of tradeable items for seals. Now that i've seen this thread, i wish I had not discarded my extras yet.
I agree - trading of Ifrit and Moogle weapons may increase the number of available parties forming (company seal farming) for those of us who haven't had many opportunities yet. :)
I think that it's a bad idea to make them trade-able for seals.. These are unique weapons forge of Gods. Let alone it takes a great deal to obtain one. With that in mind not every one can get it. You need to be about 45/50 just to get the quest and you need to shout and wait hours just for a good party. ( not every one has a good linkshell like you). I beat Ifirit about 7 times and I never got a single drop. You know the saying there are some things money can't buy? Well there should be some things seals can buy :).
Hello,
Not sure if there is misunderstanding, but the idea is for adventurers to give up an Iffy weapon to their Grand Company, who will then pay the adventurer seals. Not the other way around.
This is good if you get Ifrit weapons you do not need (like all the Ifrit Claws I had). And it encourages/rewards people to keep doing Ifrit quests for some more tangible reward other than Dark Matter (although that is my main reason for going).
It further encourages people who are highly experienced at doing Ifrit/Moogy to keep going, and this will make it easier for non-experienced people to tag along and have a chance to win.
All in all, I think this is a great idea, and was actually kind of expecting it with this patch (did not think it would be limited to DH/Tok-Tok and NMs only).
THAT being said.... I hope there is a better way of managing the details of farming for a weapon and getting a duplicate of one you do not want to trade in rather than one you do.
For example, I would get rid of all weapons that I could not use, go in, have only 3/7, hoping I'll get any of the other 4 to trade in for seals, and.... get one of the existing 3 I have. Perhaps we can have a 'status' placed on us, so if a duplicate falls we can choose to send it to the Grand Company (if we are still not allowed to trade it with others in our party).
Thanks Rukkirii!
Here's what I thought when considering implementing trading in Ifrit and Moogle weapons. And maybe even Shposhae gear too.
But for the Ifrit and Moogle weapons I was figuring a trade in value of 10,000 Grand Company seals per weapon drop.
Shposhae can be 50 or below, since they're relatively easy to collect. No greater than 80-100 I'd say.
But the good thing about making these rare primal weapons trade-able is that for the people who basically already have all the weapons, they can go back and help set up more frequent primal parties for people who are new or who haven't had the time to participate as much, like me, and be able to join more frequent, experienced, primal parties.
And it's another great incentive and way to encourage people to replay the content for great rewards and great fun to help others get the weapons they want to keep or trade in if they already have it.
Heya everyone. ^^
The dev. team decided to add Ifrit weapons to the list of items that can be turned in for Grand Company seals from Expeditionary Missions in the upcoming 1.22b patch!
We'll continue to evaluate adding more primal-related weapons to the list of items that can be traded in the future!
YUSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!
1.22b = inventory + 9
i do note the lack of moogle weapons there but if needs be ill spirit bond them and trade in ifrits :)
-.- GDI -.- ....................
got crap materia for the ones i turned already ><
Just a tip for anyone who hadn't thought of it.
You can store your ifrit weapons on a retainer and get more as drops. Should help with turning them into seals.
They should remove unique from them so we can hold multiples.
Thats nice but also it was mentioned in another topic which I am too lazy to find about a GC Item buy back cause most of the items Ihave on me are ueless and taking up space and the only option is to discard so my question is thus will a buy back option be implemented even if its 1/10 of the buy price it's better than discarding it.
What about the items from CC and AV? I've been holding onto those forever waiting to turn those into GC seals.
^^^ I hope so, Spiked Armguards suuuccccck. I've just been NPCing them since they are worth several K and drop all the damn time.
They should make the Ifrit and Moogle fights drop a charm for every battle you beat, the same as Garuda does. I'm sick of the sight of dark matter...
^^ agreed ~
I've lost almost all respect for the dev's of this game currently they know of all the probliems & B/S & do nothing about it, then everyones says 2.0 will be better but if you think about it NO it wont as they have proven time & time again by not fixing the current probliems which are so easy to sort out.
Hmm I find just 1 problem with this, and that would be the low drop rate. That means that it would be very inefficient to even bother farming those weapons for seals. Even if the dev's decided to increase the seals for these weapons, it still would not be worth the time or effort that would be put into it.
Dead horses apparently bring out the abusive nature in people, because it's about to get beaten to a pulp, yet again.
I am superbly underwhelmed about this news. This is just rewarding the lucky, yet again.
I usually just treat news like this with a ambivalent "meh, whatever"... But seriously, this is news that is just adding to one of the biggest gripes among the community.
My luck-
Shitfrit: 0/40+ on a weapon & 1/40+ on totem
Froogle: 0/50+ on a weapon & 1/50+ on nut
*And I'm not even close to the unluckiest of the community; I'm just sick of hearing how much worse everyone else's luck is and dread having to get to 100+ wins and realizing that I have wasted my time, like them.
Fix drop-rate or make totem/nut 100% on win. It's done for Garuda; and that is the new content... Why is old content still so abysmal to attain? I, for one, am sick to death of the primals. I will stick to my Grand Company weapons which I can farm seals for easily and are perfectly sufficient for any content at this stage.
Is it not blatantly obvious that this is bass-akwards? Guaranteed items (through, time invested not luck) are not able to be traded (get your stuff and never have to do the content again, eventually rendering it pointless)... But, you make the old weapons good for seals when some people have't even seen a weapon or a totem/nut in tons of runs.
"But-but... You can pass the totems/nuts that don't seem to drop, ever."
I cannot fathom how this is something that the devs refuse to deal with, but put out news like this and expect it to impress anyone but the lucky.
Dead. Horse. Beaten.
^^ i fell your pain.
Yay! now if only i could get primal weapons to drop. On second thought i'll pass, i'll wait to see if they will adjust it to make it where don't have to spam the same fight over and over and over and over just to get a totem or even maybe a weapon!
That question might be noobish but what will those Seals for ??
They edited that from Ifrit and Moogle weapons to just Ifrit and maybe other primal weapons...
