Um.. I dont turbo craft.. i actually sit there and hit a button.
So wth? after x amount of spamming 1 synth to level i have to make something else? for how long do i need to make something else before i can go back to the same thing i was making before?
This is gonna get reaaaaal interesting.
Most bots automatically go back to crafting if not in the crafting state.
uh..I think I was told that once....
Only going to take some minor changes to fix :( Should just have GM's actually do stuff.
itl probly just make you stand up, thus interupting your crafting process if you arent there to re-enter position of synthing
itl basicaly take a good 5 extra seconds every X ammount of synths out of your day
and id say a fair number to set the bar at is 10-20, i say 10 cuz of leves(which are same synth over and over) capping out at 7
Bit silly tho still, cuse you can get around it.
Move window so you can see your guy, hot key crafting button on ur gamepad (xpadder), then watch a movie or something with ur turbo on and when he goes up from interruption, u just hit ur recraft hotkey, char crafts again.
Wasted + Pointless work SE have done, will just annoy people who dont bot/turbo.
I doubt it'll be as short as 5-10 synths. I would guess about 50.
And it's obvious this is meant to deter people from "taping" down a turbo button and going to sleep/work all day, and not actual bots.
Just ban the botters and be done with it. Can't stand them.
catching them is the problem
id be seriously curious if they are adding other hidden protocols with this
such as something that detects enter spamming when NOT in synth stance(which would of course happen when people got interupted and their controls/programs are still running) to detect who is using them
Not going to ban someone for spamming enter because they aren't crafting. That's OLD SE salvage dupe ban strategy! They had some kind of flag system in FFXI for speed hacks but people still got away with rampant flee hacking and walking through walls in sea/sky/wherever all the time.
You can't trust an automized system to ban people, there will ALWAYS be exceptions and you cannot underestimate the dedication some people have... You could go and say that everyone with a Luminary is a botter but I know for certain there are people that do 7-8 hour crafting sessions themselves, at the computer the entire time.
Hell I've fished for more than 6 hours straight once. It can happen.
if it's this low it's just going to be more of an annoyance to people that are actually there crafting.
i'd prefer if they just went back to requested items instead of recipe to get rid of the turbo controller bots and have a higher limit. i'm not saying 500, but i would prefer it to be closer to 100. if you think of that 3k synth grind that's 30 times to stand up if you synth non stop. to me it stops the go to work or go to sleep people, but at least gives people a decent grind before having to stand up.
Speed hacking and tele hacks were not tolerated at all, at least on Sylph. The only problem was they had to catch them in the act. I've gotten a few RMT banned for this when I still played. Funny how their buddies all hated on me so bad afterwards XD
eugitaf >.>
XD
and thats 2 hours between each check a turbo crafter has to do to see if hes standing up
a standard spammer does 50-60 synths an hour, just think about that fact right there, and base what should happen on it
100 synths is like saying you can go 2 hours straight without moving with your bot before you have to go check on it and restart it....thats too long
set it low, 20, 30 even, thats 20 to 30 minutes tops right there, which whilew it may seem inconvenient, isnt as bad as you think
I will say that as long as it isn't some ridiculously low number, it probably isn't going to bother me.
I'm not sure this is the way to combat botting though. Seems like just another jab at RMT that turns players into casualties of war with silly, convoluted systems. None of the other methods that followed this pattern worked so not sure why they think this one will.
In any case, I'll reserve any further judgment on this one until I actually experience it.
this is the german version.Quote:
[dev1310] Wenn man ein einziges Rezept mehrmals hintereinander ausführt, wird die Synthese nach bestimmter Zeit einmal abgebrochen.
same deal, but it says that it will be interrupted only once.
whatever that means, it's not a bot prevention.
they can just stand up/sit down after a set amount of crafts and keep on going.
or switch the craft when the limit is reached.
in the long run this will punish honest players rather than botters.
rather hire some useful GMs with the money we pay to prevent botting than this.i can't support such decisions if they were merely made to prevent botting...
Dunno how many times I had to go warp2 people who got stuck in whitegate fountain, only one ever got a warning. Alexander server people never got banned, JP/NA running as fast as me while on PLD/BLM/WHM while I'm on NIN with AF boots to tiamat/cerberus/khim etc.
Getting slightly offtopic but to get back on topic, I doubt there any real concern from them about craft botting cause it's mostly a gil/time sink anyway!
I don't think it was presumptuos at all. I was just talking about automated bans in general, as they tend to never really work out perfectly.
I'm in agreement with the people that say they should just hire more GMs, but I doubt that's very high on their list of priorities right now.
I didn't say anything about Luminary tools. I didn't say or imply people who have them are x y and z. I didn't say or not say people craft for several hours a day.
Sorry pal, it was presumptuous in just about every way, formulating my conclusion with a bunch of crap I didn't say or imply in even the slightest way. yet somehow you came up with all that tripe from my two - very short - sentences.
Right.
I'm willing to bet it wall be an amount to last similar to the crafting buff we get from food or the NPC.
50-100 synths (30min - 1hour)
Eh, this is pretty annoying. I usually watch TV or read a book whilst tapping X. I'm not botting, I'm not even using turbo, not sure why I am being punished. I'm going to have to come back and check my PC every few minutes now. Well, with any luck it will kick in around 50 synths rather than say...10...
Maybe if SE actually had a crafting system that wasn't grindtacular and boring as all hell I would actually play properly instead of half-assing it just to get the benefits of having a crafting class levelled.
You still have to watch your PC while crafting, and can't just let it run all night while you're asleep. Not wasted nor pointless work in the slightest.
Also, some people here need to keep in mind that less turbo crafters means your DoH will be more valuable. Yes, it might make your crafting life a bit more tedious, but at least the effort will actually be worth something.
Ok so I'm going to use my usb controller and 50 extensions so I can walk into the kitchen and make food while pressing X. BAN WORTHY?
You guys are getting a little ridiculous with all this "AMG UR A TOS BREAKER".
