*Laughs in Nier raid ideas*

I'll get to the point. The one thing I want above all else from the Nier raid is a flight unit mount. It seems highly unlikely that it would happen but I'm praying nonetheless. The more I thought about it the more excited I got. From a dev standpoint its very possible to make. You can slap the fligh unit assets onto the cruise chaser skeleleton which has its own transformation animation that the flight unit can use.
I know its not that simple but the recipe is there without needing to create all new assets. That besides the point while drooling over this idea, another popped into my head. I think it'd be pretty fun to have a sequence in one of the raids where we jump into flight units and have a bit of fun akin to the praetorium sequence when we pilot the reaper.
Wouldn't be impossible to make either since we already have a system in place for rival wings that lets us pilot the cruise chaser. It'd be nice to see again since we haven't had anything like that SINCE the praetorium to begin with.

But Really what do you all wanna see in the raid? The same run to boss A to Boss B with mobs in between or something a bit different? I just want the mount.

Every boss named Faust.

Initially I wanted a pod minion... but personally I think I'd like a pod mount instead. I think it would be unique since it would be small mount.

I know the other 24-mans haven't had them, but I desperately want weapon glamours. Automata has a lot of beautiful, sleek designs.

Knowing Yoko Taro, the reward for completing the raid itself would be a butt slider.

You know what I want from the new raid as a mechanic? If possible, I want a mechanic much like the old school Galaga games they did in the latest Nier Automata. ^^

Legit, part 3 of raid should have:

1st Boss: Koji
2nd Boss: Soken
3rd Boss: Yoko Taro and Yosuke Saito
Final Boss: Yoshi-P

EDIT: derp forgot raids have 4 bosses...

The events of Automata happened thousands of years after Nier Gestalt/Replicant, but I'm hoping they have some throwbacks from that game too. More people probably played Automata though overall so I guess I won't be surprised if they ship Automata from start to finish.

I expect a fetch quest involving a mackerel at some point

Speaking of changing formula, I'd like it if we no longer use the alliance system as it is. Keep healers as they are, move all tanks to one of the alliance only and redistribute the DPS to replace the tanks that moved and don't have any more separate adds.

That sounds like pure chaos and would give tanks less of a a reason to queue seeing as the one saving grace is that tank drops are undisputed and literally the only other reason most tanks queue as tanks after getting their weekly token, which then results in even longer dps and healer queues because most will be disinclined to fight for tank look when they can just dps. Let's not forget tank queues are instant for a reason and the last thing you wanna do is give tanks less of a reason to queue as tank.

I'm not convinced having loot competition would drastically change the number of tanks who will queue for alliance raid. And if you need to gear up tank, queueing for healer/DPS is not the way to go regardless of competition because you'll be locked out of that "need" ability.

We need only look to the time the devs tried to make looting in 24 mans greed only for all jobs and the backlash it caused to see that even at a lesser degree it'll damage the delicate balance of tank queues. I understand you may not belive it now but when you take an incentive like undispuited looting that has been a luxury tanks have been able to enjoy since the release of heavensward for one of the most clearly unappealing (to the MAJORITY! look at the queues) roles in mmos in general you run the risk of lessening the pool of people with incentive to queue. I'm all for change but that's just a bit much.

Aside from all that, putting role specific jobs into their own "alliance" would just make console healers lives a living hell.

The risk is certainly there, I just don't think it'd be similar to the greed-only issue.

I'm curious if it will focus entirely on Automata or if, like Return to Ivalice mixed in FF XII and Tactics (if the latter more so), or if it will cross in some Nier stuff too.

I could see the Tower from Automata maybe being the final raid. But the weapon factory from Nier could also be fun location.

Yeah Alliance raids haven't given weapons before but I really hope this happens. They can also draw on the original Nier or even Drakengard. Grimoire Weiss and Noire for sch/smn tomes for starters...
