A/S rank Hunts need a level sync like fates

Or scale to how many people are in the zone.

It's to the point now that lvl 50 S-rank hunts die before you can even get a 3rd hit in, sometimes can't even get 2 hits in. Yes I know being in a party will get you much higher or full credit but that's not the point here.

This will only get worse as the max character level goes in in 5.0.

Agreed. I don't bother with hunts especially after cross server world visiting. I imagine they are working on changes to that system to make it more like Eureka.

So? You can get allied seals from A ranks or BLU weeklies and kills for the achievements from the SB S ranks. If you want the ARR S ranks, don't announce their spawn.

But sharing is good
Then come up with a better solution than syncing.

Eureka suffers from performance issues and it caps at 144 players. Viable tactics in Eureka include putting people between you and the boss so attacks don't affect you (because attacks can only hit so many players at once) and unsyncing if you're in danger of dying.

Maybe they go in the opposite direction and only allow the party that tags the hunt to attack it. Would eliminate any issues with crowding.

How about just do an item level sync rather than a character sync, so you get to keep your full attack rotation but just limit your damage potential.

I rarely try to make S ranks anymore because even if you port the second they are announced loading takes forever because everyone is trying to load in. They are almost always dead before you get there.

You really like making other people upset don't you? The second choice will just cause the first person there to attack it then be "trade me X gil and I'll invite you to the me party!"

My concern is when people get level 80 and geared up they will be able to 1-shot old ARR hunts. Some Red Mage could just be the first and only person to hit the hunt even if there are 50 people standing there waiting.

Buff all the Hunts A/S ranks so they're as strong and tanky as the Stormblood A/S ranks.

They should also change the weekly solo Hunt mark that gives 100 Seals and change it to a Daily lol.

Why is this a concern? There are 17 ARR S ranks, 6 HW S ranks and 6 SB S ranks. If they have even 5 zones in ShB, that'll be 34 S ranks. Now multiply that by 8 to account for all servers. There were 17 S ranks max in ARR. Why do players need to be able to get credit for all 270+ S ranks once ShB releases?

Because it will be the beginning of all out aggression toward people in the community. It's generally good right now with a few rare bad apple already being selfish and killing then without announcing them. Some are going as far as marking them killed on tracking websites just to be toxic.

Maybe you don't know but there are achievements for killing these that award a nice mount. I'm not doing it myself but I'm adult enough to care about others doing them and don't like to be a selfish prick.

A level Scale would be really Great but may I add something which could help as of now?

You mentioned like 2/3 Hits but if you are in a Party it's better to do 1 Hit only and then work on the Enmity. Cause Enmity = Full Credit

Best is to go either as a Paladin or as a Whitemage: As a Pally you do one 1 like Shieldlob or Autoattack and then spam Flash. As a WHM you do 1 Hit and spam Med II/Med/Cure III
And other Jobs can do one Hit and you dont need to do anything else till it's dead.

This can help the S Rank to die slower and with that more people have a chance to get the Credit. ^^

Could give the hunt a 10-15 seconds invincibility window when hit if it's not current content, and remove the contribution thing so everyone that hits it during that invincibility window gets max credit

wouldn't stop them insta dying when someone finds one, but would make it easier for groups to all tag it when one is announced

Yes I know all this.. The part of my message you clipped out was "Yes I know being in a party will get you much higher or full credit but that's not the point here." I also go in on a tank (PLD) and spam flash as it does no damage. Getting full credit isn't the problem, it's the people still trickling in, you know those PS4 users. ARR S-ranks use to last at least 10 seconds. Now you hardly get in 2 global cooldowns. If they lasted 30 seconds that would be enough for the tail end people to still get there and smack it once.

The "killing marks without announcing" is frustrating, sure, but you should want them to update the tracking website to say so. The alternative is that other people waste their time looking for the monster which hasn't been marked as killed.

People mark then DEAD when they haven't been killed. People TROLL the websites.

Hunt is dead to me until SE change it for the better. It's always a waste of time to follow calls for A or S, because everytime they are already killed when I arrive.
Since nobody is obligated by anything to wait for anyone, everyone just rush to the kill.
And this problem will get worse every new expansion, because everyone will just hitkill low level hunts. It hurts the MMO community/social feeling. If I wanted to solo thing I would play a single player, I'm here to play with people.

Well that's completely different, but the way you phrased it didn't make that clear - it seemed to be building on the first sentence and talking about a sub-group of the people you were already talking about.

Don't expect to have SE do anything about it.

We had the same problem in FF11 where high level players would camp certain NMs 24/7, so it turned into a competition of who could pull it first. SE never changed it ASAIK (haven't played since they raised the 75 cap)

This honestly makes me curious. Do people actually train ARR and HW A ranks these days? Whenever I'm out doing things in old areas (maps, gathering, etc) I see As all the time and usually just kill them then and there. I do a shout when I see a HW A and occasionally someone joins me in the 4ish minutes it take me to kill it, but usually not. Having I been messing up trains all this time? Seems unlikely to me considering I have seen exactly zero HW train PFs in the past couple of years.

SE answered, in response to a question at a live letter Q&A, that they explored many options including increasing HP. They seemed to have leaned toward trying to make them FATEs, but discovered that FATEs have no spawn condition system and it would be too much work to give them one until after 5.0 is done. If the pressure is kept up they will probably make them FATEs sometime during 5.x.

I prefer upping the level of all A and S ranks over making them FATEs right now. It would revitalize a lot of the older zones once again, which is always helpful. I would miss being able to solo old world hunts, but honestly I already miss that now that world transfers are a thing and it has become more difficult to chart NM times.

The whole hunt reward point system needs re-evaluated too.

That would be nice. I don't waste time trying to keep up with all the people doing hunts so being able to get seals for the B ranks more than once a week would be useful.

Trains no, unless a new clan mark log was just released that week.

HW A's have some relevance for the 40 Centurio, which can go towards Peerless Clan Mark logs, so if you put a shout out or a call in a ls with 4-5 minutes for players to get there then that's plenty. It's also generally appreciated if you mark the kill on Ariyala if you kill an old A solo.
