Too bad we aren’t on the same data Center, you’d have a tough time with your marketboard... :P
Oh, sorry. Couldn't hear you over the sounds of the undercutting war.Buyers and sellers teleportation DC wide and all.
Honestly impressed with how smoothly it works and how effortless it is. Definitely a step up from before when it comes to seeing people you know from other servers and visiting them for random reasons.
Oh yes! I'm looking forward greatly to new crafting mat markets! I'm pretty stocked at the moment in terms of selling so it'll have to wait a while. Right now I'm just hoping that I get a wider audience to sell to lol! Some of my food isn't all that popular on Jenova.
Where's the bargain server for Siren's DC? I love me some bargains!
I think the implementation is good for worlds with low populations and people get to move around. But world(s) with highly populated ones are not good, people are starting to congregate to those world because of cheaper prices and not going back to their own world which will lead to congestion when 5.0 hits. I really hope they stop world visit in the first few weeks of shadowbringer release to ease the traffic first. Else, prepare to queue for 1hr to login.
I was very impressed as to how fast and easy it was. It would have been nice to do it from anywhere at all (not just the main city aetherytes), but hey that's just nitpicking. As-is it's great, thank you!
Balmung is doing Balmung :3

Also weird to log in to see nearly all my items sell in a row lol.
I imagine after some buying side of things equalize SE will make the market boards data center wide, that'd keep prices very competitive to the gil SE gives you naturally. Besides luxury items (items with very very very low drop rates) which will be a massive LOL WOT expensive.
A top concern for people on Balmung has been: will I be able to get back to this congested world?
The answer is yes - instantly - even if everyone else on the DC is visiting Balmung.
That's good to know in advance of Shadowbringers.
Airship/submarine crafting is a lot more affordable and cheaper (if buying mats be it by gatherer and GC seal mats).
Its a really nice feature, so far I am seeing a lot of full limsa's.
Err, do you have the reference where it states that the system prioritizes people from home world over those visiting? Because neither the patch notes nor the guide stated that. I mean if players from other world have already parked their character in a congested world and players who are from that congested world wants to login, they still has to queue because those players who are visiting are not leaving.
They stated at a Fan Fest that any player currently on another world will revert back to their home world when they log in.
Q: If I enter a duty while visiting another World, where will my character be sent when the duty is over?
A: Your character will be returned to the World you are visiting.
Q: What happens if I log out while visiting another World?
A: You will return to that World when you log back in.

Added another link that states exactly what was said before also.

We understand there are some concerns with this system causing congestion on your home Worlds, but please do not worry. We have a system in place that will allow us to monitor activity, set the ratio of how many visitors can travel to the world based on population, and a system to prioritize players accessing their home world. However, please note that login queues will continue to exist for Worlds that have reached the maximum number of players allowed at any given time.
I'm almost suspicious as to how smoothly it works. Definitely an impressive feat, but still curious as to how well the stress test will go with the new system.
Hopefully in the future it might turn into a Data Center visit System in the future. Prolly might happen in 6.xx, if not in ShB.
*Logs on* Oh look, queue, neat *plays as usual*
It's actually quite fun seeing new people on Balmung again. We get it so rarely.
I have one piece of feedback.. given the restrictions on what you can do as a Wanderer... it's much better for peeps to remain on their home world... so for someone porting back to their home world from a visited world... give them priority in the queue over those going to visit... I've got a friend on Ragnarok who's 13 places behind me trying to get to Ragnarok (I'm on Omega, she's visited here)... shouldn't she be allowed in before me?
Found a character that only had one job at lvl 20 spending over 5 million gil on 4 items to sell back on their home world.
They were clearly gaming the system to get to a certain level to allow them to use retainers.
For the people talking about the market boards, within a month or two at most, prices will average out regardless of where you are. The effect of that will make it not all that practical to jump around fellow servers for that purpose (unless your hunting specifically for very rare mats/glamours/etc). Also I imagine at some point in time, someone will get clever enough to create something that can see market board averages and post that on a website for people to reference.
Get it while its good, cause I dont think world visit for market board shenanigans is gonna be huge in a few months.
Well I can say on siren I am getting a waiting list to get in. Get out of my house!
Price normalization isn't good if the prices are so low that the only people pulling in decent profits are bot farmers who gather/craft 24/7 using alts or while they're asleep.
I feel like it's just a matter of time, honestly.
The prices on infusions on most servers are already disproportionately low for how annoying farming aethersands is (Crafted food almost always commands higher prices despite generally being easier to make).
Worst case scenario is that the economy erupts into a cross-server war between the bot farmers and they keep undercutting each other constantly (Which isn't that unrealistic if Mogboard becomes mainstream).
it's actually helping me identify worlds that are in the same pace as me on MSQ, i came back after a long break but the world server i'm on is way ahead of where i am at, it does make catching up a little hard.
One of my FC mates got a glamour set on another world for 400k that cost 1 to 1.5 million on ours. I have a feeling our market is gonna crash badly... though it will really depend on laziness vs want to save money.
Exactly. When a low pop world has the reigns on a market board and you offer a way to visit a high pop world where the prices will be more affordable, it's a no brainer.
I was finally able to get a mount I've wanted on a different world as my main one has it jacked up by almost 3 Mil more then the others.
Best feature in a long time really. Although some of that was luck in the crystal shuffle.
There is so much good in this World Visit system. Normalizing of economies aside, I've spent the past few days playing with friends I haven't played with in years. There's a shift in the Duty Finder as well. The sense of camaraderie usually reserved for people of the same server has now extended to the Data Center. It's made the playground bigger. So those people you encounter in random duties are not necessarily someone you'll never meet again as much as potential friends.
