I've finished up the MSQ recently, but the whole Scions situation is unresolved.
I'm also at a loss for what to do in game, since all I've been doing so far is MSQ stuff.
I guess I need to try gathering and crafting.

hildebrand
side quests and trials
leveling other classes
gathering and crafting with leves
there is a lot to do if all you have done is msq. yes it left off in a cliffhanger, yes we will have to wait for shadowbringers.
Shadowbringer? Oh you mean Stormblood part 2.
If you've only done MSQ, there's loads of other stuff for you to do.
8 man and 24 man raids.
Beast tribe quests.
Hildebrand.
Other job quests.
Eureka.
And they all have significant story content.
If you haven't already, make sure you do the Crystal Tower raids! The first quest is picked up in Revenant's Toll.
Did you do crystal tower side questline or any side questlines?
If you havent done crystal tower I highly suggest that as it is a crucial plot point for Shadowbringers.
Unlock all the non MSQ dungeons.
there will be no more MSQ
There is always stuff that is unresolved.
This last patch felt short MSQ wise, I feel like I needed more :/ I was expecting more
That's not entirely accurate.
ARR's main storyline thrust was finished upon completion of 2.0. The 2.x content meandered around for a bit and then started pushing toward Heavensward, but was definitely distinct from the main conflict of 2.0. Heavensward's main storyline thrust was finished upon completion of the Dragonsong War at the end of 3.3. The content for 3.4 on began pushing toward Stormblood. Stormblood's main storyline quest... hasn't really ended. We've had a few detours before getting back to the main conflict, but the issues surrounding the Warriors of Darkness, Zenos, and the Ascians (specifically relating to their involvement with Garlemald) have essentially taken center stage for over two years now, and look slated to continue into Shadowbringers.
So it's far, far more appropriate to call Shadowbringers 'Stormblood part 2' than it is to make that claim about any previous expansions.
The ascians ties to garlemald have been a plot point since 2.0, as lahabrea was using gaius with Ultima. Warriors of darkness was a 3.0 plot point. The liberation of Ala mhigo and Doma has been talked about since late 2.0, when yugiri showed up. The ishgard plot has been around since 1.0. I was able to stand at the gates and look at ishgard 5 years before the expansion launched.
Stormblood's main story line has ended IMO.
Just like Heavensward's main story was about ending the Dragonsong War, the story of Stormblood was about the liberation of Ala Mhigo and Dhoma - and that story ended with Castrum Fluminis.
Everything involving Ascians, Warriors of Darkness, etc is part of the game's overarching storyline rather than beloning to the main storyline of any expansion
The thing is, it's one thing to have a plot point, and using it, or else it's just world building information. Without the trailers and fanfests specifically telling us we'd be going to the First and become a warrior of darkness (the selling point of the expansion), we'd have no idea what ShB would be about, aside maybe fighting more Garleans...which....we spent all SB doing. If anything, it'd lead people to believe we're going to Garlemald instead.
Yeah, I agree. We don't have a lot of reason to trust the Enigmatic Guy, and right now it really does seem like the Garleans and Zenos are the most pressing issues. Yeah, the comatose Scions deal is a bummer, but the Garleans are the clear and present danger.
"You've taken the souls of my friends, and now you're telling me that I need to go to the First Shard? Minfilia's already on the job there, and even if I was nuts enough to trust you, if I DID go to the First Shard, the Garleans would make sure I have nothing left to return home to. No thanks."
Another patch? Yes. More MSQ? Nope.
So no one even mentions coil but hildebrand? Really?
Coil still has a better story also hildebrand is not easy its painful and seriously irritating. :p
Also i never stated coil would be faceroll...well thanks to the unsync option it mostly is.
I know that most people are already overwhelmed by coil mechanics but thats still not a reason to not mention it because the person that asks could like a little challenge and a great storyline! :p
I feel like Coil is "off the radar" for me because it is so hard to get into, if you're not into the extra-tough battles. At the point when it should be done, story-wise, you have to forget about it until you're well overleveled and can join an unsynched party for it.
Thanks.
Finally got access to the hunts (Major pain finding the required quests, but there's some decent gil from them.
Resuming leveling my mining (now 50)
Hildebrand? Haven't heard of it. Google - Sounds interesting, or will be if I can find where to start the chain.
I assume this is it: https://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodes...t/ee0ea475af7/
