Sorry to hear your leaving, but since I am broke, why not help out someone else!

Maybe all the unsubbing people can give away all their stuff to people in here who volunteer to take it!

I volunteer to take all the Brynhildr stuff from people unsubbing, send to me in game "Hero Prime"

If you are giving away your stuff on your server post it here, maybe someone will need/want it.

Or if you want stuff post here, saying you could use some stuff.

Probably not, but welcome to the forums, where people complain, and complain about complaining, etc... Also it's apparently mind blowing for people to see that others have different opinions and different measures of how to have fun apparently (not directed at you, but at the others).

If people want to stay (just as I'm staying) or unsub (how others are unsubbing), whatever floats their boat. I'm not going to care why people will stay subbed, leave, or how they spend their time in this game. If someone isn't having fun anymore, it's no skin off my back that they're doing what makes them happy (as they should). If they want to leave feedback in a constructive manner, they're free to do that as well.

I will give it that some people are being rather unreasonable in their degree of showing how discontent they are (what with personal attacks and the like).

You let me down man, I thought we were gonna have a complaintathon. So many stages of complaints about complaints that we'd hit breaking points and cause another calamity.

I do agree in essense though- sucks that folk go without what they like, and I hope the other sex variants of the new races get added down the line, despite my lack of interest in playing them.

Why would you even make this thread? There's no point in further antagonizing those who already are upset about what happened. I will admit that some threads/posts got out of hand, but telling people things like "Yeah yeah, just unsub, you'll be back, lol" or "Unsub, we'll be better off without" is absurd. I don't really consider myself to be on either side of the debate, as I'm cool with what happened but wouldn't be against adding the opposite genders to the new races, but telling people "Go away" from an MMO we all play like that just makes me irate.

WoW used to have 12 mil subs back in WotLK days, the last update Bliz gave before they stopped reporting was a little over 5 mil. All those players that were told "cya tomorrow, you'll be back" sure did come back, didn't they? Telling people to go away helps no one. I don't know about you guys, but I enjoy FFXIV and I don't want FFXIV to have it's WoD/BFA expansion where the game starts sucking and the playerbase is so small compared to what it used to be. More people continuing to play helps everyone that is currently playing.

Yeah, I try to see it from all sides. I'm happy for those that got what they wanted, and I can understand the disappointment.

As for complaintception, I'd rather not spiral myself into a hole I can't climb out of. xD

Sorry but i dont remember seeing 7 mil threads about people quitting WoW and I'm sure there were less than 1000 who were told that.
Also WoW was about bad decisions making the game not fun for people they didn't leave because they didn't get a healer since MoP.

I don't think so. This thread brought a grin to my face. The players threatening to quit have simply made me roll my eyes and wish they'd just go rather than ruin the atmosphere for those of us who are excited about the expansion.

That's what unsubscribing is.



And rather than just disappear, which isn't helpful to the devs...
They're posting feedback as to why they feel rhe need to exercise their consumer rights to vote with their wallet.

I actually did already, to my FC members and a few other friends I'll be leaving behind, haha. I imagine anyone who really is quitting would likely prioritize people they know and care for than those trying to take advantage of others on the forums.

Which means nothing, because when 1 is gone another re-subs for the expansion and or pays a hire price for retainers or makes their subscription 15.99 instead of 12.99 to have a alternate character.

Which un-subbing would do nothing, so the whole school comment got shot down, there is always someone to replace the loss of a subscription.

Nobody loses anything unless the unsubbed player had owned a house.

Mostly because Square Enix showed over the Years, that the only way to make them hear their Audience is a Shitstorm big enough to be in the News of Sites like Kotaku, Polygon, and several more.
And if something like this was needed several time, the people will straight jump for this was.
If the only way to make you open your door it to bang at it with force very loud, your friends will not ring the bell anymore and instead bang your door with force every time.

Those are not news sites, they haven't been for years and gamers don't really read those "news sites" .
Instead of providing actual news and good game reviews, they have something else on they plate to push.


But not to derail from the thread, everyone can and should voice their voice to certain limits even with unsubbing which is feedback with the wallet in the end.

Only those that would quit anyway or those for whom this was the final straw. Most of the others are just temporary unsubbing, delaying the preorder or not preordering. It's more like a strike, workers take an action that is supposed to be noticed but they don't drop the job.

For those saying that unsubbing people would be replaced: Nope. Let's make a very simplified example, let's take the natural cycle of FFXIV is very month 10 people leave and 10 join. This month 50 people leave, 10 join. On big number those those 40 will be felt.

Yep, you nailed it. It's alarming how many "final straws" are popping up and it's just tiring to me, I don't have a desire to play or look forward to anything right now. For me the final straw was most definitely Blue Mage, but nothing after has really helped.
For others, the final straw will be those that wanted to experience the expansion as a new race, that didn't want to see the relic weapons in Eureka again, the story being underwhelming leading into Shadowbringers, the lack of a 4th healer to use...you name it, and there's probably more to come.
People who are protesting still care and want to see change, the ones you have to worry about are those who have had their interest completely killed.

Pretty much this. I'm unsubbing till May pretty much because I don't really want to play at the moment, so why pay for something I'm not using? That's just wasting money. But to be fair, when you do unsub you're asked to give a reason for your unsub... and then given a choice of radial button options to press and none of them really give any actual feedback on why you're really leaving. Thus, if you really want to provide feedback as to why you are unsubbing, this is pretty much the best place for it.

I'll re-evaluate my decision in May if I like what I hear from the live letter and decide I feel like playing the expansion. Or perhaps taking a break is what I need to do to feel up to getting and playing the expansion again. I won't lie, I am pretty disappointed with the news I've heard so far. But I'm keeping tabs in case SE can show that my fears and pessimism are wrong or does something that will allow me to overlook them a bit. SE has let me down quite a few times over the past few years, I've learned to keep my expectations fairly low, but am always willing to be happily surprised.

People are free to come to or go from the game as they please. That said, if anyone is feeling generous... I'm just a poor Midlander, from a poor family...

It is not important if the sites are good or bad, but SE showed over the Years, that the only way to make them not ignore everything is to make the outrage spread around the Internet all over the Place.

Otherwise you will see only one reaction from this Company: Ignore and hope the people will forget it.

This became mostly the norm how to make AAA Publishers not stick their Heads into the Sand, as soon as something bad happens.
