Needs to be 16 light instead of 31, basically half of what it is now.
1 light for first step
5 lights for 2nd
10 + Louhi Ice for third.
Also, every mob above 30 needs to give some form of light so you can solo if you want to.
Absolutely 31 is just to much.
They need to buff nm light with more than feeble and gentile. The light grind was significantly improved when they buffed it last time but it's still the worst part of getting a pagos relic. I've done a few and would do more but that grind does take a bit of effort. I just did it recently on my alt Talea and she now has the BLM Hydratos relic in addition to her WHM.
I doubt they'll reduce the number but they can certainly make it easier to get 31 like they did with Crystal Sands for example giving everyone a 2 for 1 payback. I have friends holding on to frosted flakes hoping for a nerf in the number but I doubt it will happen.
The sad part is Pagos has been repeatedly nerfed already.
I hate to think what it'll be like once shb comes out if they don't nerf it somehow. It's already tedious enough as it is. Imagine what it'll be like with only a handful of people.
Sadly will become impossible since you can't solo mobs or you can but it will be very very long
The light grind is fine while you're leveling, but once you hit 35 it's such a slog. Which is sad since it's been nerfed twice already. I don't think it would be so bad if you could work on the weapon at an earlier level. With ShB coming out hopefully they make it easier to not even level, but also to progress on the weapon with less people. Heck I have a full stack of pagos crystals and then some and that's just working on one weapon and trying to level high enough to get places even on foot on Pyros.
pagos is the reason i only have one weapon completed. Couldn't stand doing it a second time
I'd like to see Pagos light nerfed more myself. I've done it for 2 relics (BRD and AST), and despite me wanting to do at least 6 other relics (PLD, DRK, WAR, WHM, SCH, and RDM), the light farm through Pagos is what stops me every time. I'd propose reducing the required Frosted Protean Crystals by half for each of the steps. That would be a good start.
I'm going for my third and I want to do more but to but Pagos it's a big turn off for me. For the Mr Happy techniques it's look like a exploit in my opinion. I don't want get ban for a ligth farm lol
I haven't even finished my first eureka relic because I hated Pagos that much. I didn't even bother finishing Pagos until about a week or two after Hydatos launched. Pyros was fine minus the large number of chokepoints. So mark me down as another individual who would like to see the light nerfed one more time in Pagos.
I don't even like Eureka that much but I'd rather deal with pyros/hydatos multiple times than pagos multiple times.
The frequency of light procs--and this can be extended to Pyros as well--needs to be increased like nine months ago. The amount of light needed to finish a weapon in Pagos does, indeed, need to be halved. Pagos is awful, as I pointed out to some degree in a long topic opener I made the weekend before Pyros came out, and the "nerfs" barely made some of it tolerable, at all, not that I have any plans to go back into that frozen Hel-scape. What it is now is still kinda bad for what it should have been on Pagos's release.
Let's not even discuss the abhorrent NM item drops for additional magicites, either, as that's another can of worms. Good gods, SE. Locking desired items behind layers of rng does not make bad design better. -.-
Light frequency and gain need to be increased, or reduce the amount of frosted protean crystals required. It takes a really long time as is in order to get one weapon done, compared to the other steps where it takes almost next to no time to get that step done.
The problem with Eureka relic is that it cannot follow the previous relic's pattern, because it heavily relies on group content and instances. I'm not againt a grindy step in relics like Light or sand for Anima. The problem is that Eureka is most likely dead comes 2nd of July. All the nerfs in the world cannot help someone solo getting anything there.
I'm not sure more magicite makes it that easier. I was reading through Eureka Discord and it seems a full Eureka armour and more amgicites still won't allow you to solo Anubis in Pagos for instance.
They would need to nerf mobs potencies to the ground, buff eureka effect / magia potency, introduce logos on all zones, and make logos shard easier to get... A lot of work. :)
Didn't Yoshi say they were going to continue to nerf it? I was expecting a nerf in one of the last patches... surprised we didn't get one. It really does need it.
He said something about nerfing Pagos in 4.5 launch (which happened) and then maybe progressively along 4.5.
I'm thinking about something similar to what happened to Anima weapons in late 3.5 (3.57 in mid April 2017, two months before Stormblood). So I guess, we'll get an overall nerf to relic obtention (lowering the amount of mats needed for instance)
While we're at it.. please allow players to use logos actions in Anemos and Pagos
Yea I wanted to do another relic buttttt that light grind in Pagos is unbearable lol I literally went from 0 crystals to 500 wayyyy before I even had enough light for the second step...while you’re leveling it’s no biggie because your done by time you’re 35 but at max level it’s soooo freaking slow

I remember I finished my Pagos relic, I kid you not, the night before its first nerf. I stayed up late and managed to finish my light grind a little bit before the servers went down and then the next day I was told it was nerfed. Made me wish I'd waited a couple more weeks to dive into that.
Pagos was really the only zone of Eureka I hated. Some of it's been addressed now. The NW and NE Aetherytes unlocking at 30 and 32 was ludicrous, but they thankfully nerfed these to appropriate levels...several patches later. I hear the light grind is very nerfed but as I said above I finished it before the first nerf to it so IDK how big of an impact it made. Then you have things like the sleeping dragons you have to tiptoe past all around the zone....the central ravine used to be a nightmare though with the aetheryte level nerfs I suppose it's not as much of an issue anymore, but the zone was just an all around pain.
Pyros was a much more pleasant experience than Pagos, and Hydatos was ironically the easiest of the four zones I think. Even Anemos had more 'choke points' that I recall in the map that could make traversal through specific areas a pain but Hydatos was mercifully open. I'm sure BA is brutally difficult and all but Hydatos was surprisingly forgiving.
That also, Example Skoll Claw. It is close to impossible to get those because of the requirement of weather and then need to get lucky over 144 person. This so damn frustrating. The Cassie earing is another example. Why put such a nice item if only 5 % of the community will ever be able to get it. At that point remove it. In Hydatos I don't event see yet any of the Item and anyway the spawn rate for the left side of the map is low that I Will never bother. You can buy those item in MB, but honestly who will 20 million for a Skoll claw when in 4 month it will be no longer usefull.
Pagos felt bad the first time (because it was), but the last relic I did took me ~2 days.
Spent more time than that farming light in pyros to make its hydatos relic usable. Because that's a thing they decided to do.
I agree. it is still currently much easier to gather pagos crystals and louhi ice. so it would be nice to see that balanced out a bit, instead of having enough crystals and ice for like 4 weapons and the light is dragging itself behind.
personally I would like you to be able to trade pagos/pyros crystals for their respected light forged crystals, along with zuzu drops able to trade for light as well
OMG yes I have a stack and a third of pagos crystals which would be fine if light gathering didn't go at a snail's pace. It would also be nice if when you turn in your light it didn't deplete the bar.
I would love to get 5 relics in total (Brd, Ast, Whm, Smn, and Nin) and possibly more. But the pagos light grind has made me change to only completing 1 relic for now (brd). It doesn't take to horribly long, but it is so tedious farming light. You either have to hope you get a good NM train going where you get lucky with gentle < Bright lights, or hope to get in on a forge party that doesn't dissolve after 30 mins.
I think it took me close to 10 lock outs to get enough light for my first relic from pagos. In my opinion it should only take 3-4 lockouts total for 1 relic light grind.
While they are at it they can adjust Icezuzu as well. Getting light in pagos is tedius yes but you could wait a week for that dude to spawn.
While i do agree the light grind needs to be adjusted can i ask why you are farming Forge for light?Contrary to common belief the light gain there is well to be honest quite awful.
Marlboro's from experience tend to give quite more and is more productive as it can prep Cassie spawn.
Uhmm maybe because its such a strong item in the first place.Why would they just be giving everyone in Eureka easy to get OP items?
They are meant to be really rare for a reason.a 6th or 7th element bonus in Eureka is rediculously strong.Not to mention how unkilleable the +100 stat items make tanks and the kind of extra dps a blm can get from them.
It's called Provinence watcher and there is clearly an additional trigger to the spawn which we dont know for it.
If it was just kill x amount of mobs it would be spawning more regularly as parties spend all day just grinding the obscure logos killing the Claws there.

I agree that is strong. But the drop rate should be at least better for Skoll since he is the hardest one to spawn in term of timing.
If we're talking about Hydatos here, IMO it feels like they changed the formula a little for NMs there to avoid the whole "prep things then wait for it to spawn" that started back in anemos. The monsters in hydatos feel more like chance force pops after a shorter cooldown when it actually pops. Things seemed to literally pop non stop when it was new and everyone was killing things just to do logs or get exp. When a majority of the instances started becoming NM/bunny parties with far less people killing trash the rate of NM appearances felt like it slowed drastically.
All NM should give at least 1 full light bar.
I beat pagos in four days. I only had to que less than ten times. Its not bad anymore.
