Awesome anime thread, what anime do you recommend?

This is General Discussion so we can discuss stuff? Maybe, it's not allowed idk.

Anyways, after a full day of killing monsters I like to relax and watch some anime (sometimes when I am grinding DoL also), so I was wondering if you guys had any great anime's you would recommend for me? ;)

I have watched a lot but, always willing to hear about anime's so:

Any animes you would recommend for me to watch while finishing of leveling my DoL?

The one about being reincarnated as a slime has been surprisingly entertaining this year.

Erm... If you play or know about Pokémon, then I would suggest watching the anime. I really enjoyed the Alola series, which is much more interesting than previous series, as they depart a little from the traditional story-telling formula.

Idk if they would be to your taste or not but Ergo Proxy, Natsume's Book of Friends/Natsume Yuujinchou, Death Parade, Beast Player Erin/Kemono no Souja Erin, The Heroic Legend of Arslan/Arslan Senki, Puella Magi Madoka Magica, and Claymore are some favorites of mine. Of those, Beast Player Erin is probably the closest to FFXIV tonally? Gorgeously animated and deserves more attention than it gets imo.

If you're looking for thematically similar, I haven't watched or read yet but from what I've heard Goblin Slayer actually has some themes that remind me a lot of the Edda Pureheart/Blackbosom story in the sense of adventurers go into a situation, grossly underestimate it, tragedy ensues. Goblin Slayer just deals with super heavy, R-Rated subject matter so if you're not comfortable with that might not be a great choice.

Boogiepop Phantom if you want something a little different, a little dark and a whole lot of interesting
Magic Users Club if you want something so ridiculous that its good. Teenage witches vs high tech space aliens with a lot of adult humor, I mean come on. So dumb its hysterical
Grave of the Fireflies if you wanna cry, I mean sob, I mean just dehydrate from the tears

Bunny Girl Senpai was surprisingly really good. Ignore bunny girl click bait and you might just be in for a treat.

Mob 100 Season 2

It's not technically anime, but I highly, HIGHLY recommend Thunderbolt Fantasy. Especially if you're into DnD too, as I'd basically describe it as a wuxia DnD campaign (it's not actually a DnD show like Critical Role, but the world setup, characters that sort of adhere to the alignment wheel concept, and writing evokes that kind of feeling). It's an anime-ish Taiwanese puppet show, but there are official English subs available too.

The series has incredible writing and some of the most fun characters I've ever seen ('Vape Wizard' and the Bard in season 2 especially), and it's fairly easy to binge and catch up on since there's only 2 seasons of 12 episodes each thus far.

If you are into post apocalypse and Showa era, I recommend Mospeada.

Kobayashi San Chi no Maid Dragon - So good, it's a shame there's only one season of it. Kanna-chan best chan ♥

RWBY is pretty awesome too, if having some western influences. Just get past the unique animation and then it's a great watch!

Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood is basically obligatory watching, it's just too good (Just be careful, one of the earlier episodes is super sad... If you can get past it then it's super fun to watch)

Fairy Tail is quite enjoyable imo.

One Piece is decent. If it has some awkward arcs at times.

Those have been my highlights so far. I need to get around to watching more stuff though...

Death Parade, very positivie surprise for me.
And the Castlevania anime made by Netflix too. I was scared at first because of the adaptation but it works really well

Slayers for hilarious fantasy and Record of the Lodoss War for more serious fantasy.
Excell Saga for 4th Wall breaking weirdness.

I, too, recommend Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood. Also My Hero Academia/Boku no Hero Academia, and the Tales of the Abyss Anime is pretty good as well.

I would recommend "Happy sugar life" and "School-Live!"

Yeah! It has been!

I would suggest: Bride of the Ancient Magus, Kakuriyo -Bed & Breakfast for Spirits, The Morose Mononokean, and xxxholic all really good in my opinion.

OH and if you like cute guys of all flavors: Touken Ranbu: Hanamaru, based on a browser based card game I really wish we could get here in the west!

I'd also recommend "Seishun Buta Yarou wa Bunny Girl Senpai no Yume wo Minai" (in NA it's titled "Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai")- opening by the excellent gyaru band The Peggies.

Love Live: School Idol Project series is good, and the more recent Ban-G Dreams :cool:

edit: If you like slice-of-life/romantic comedy anime then I'd add "Tora Dora" (or the light novels- they're really well written)

FMA: Brotherhood is indeed a classic, and I have been enjoying My Hero Academia so far. I also recently went back and watched some of the older Gundam series, including the original.

This season? Go for Mob Psycho and Promised Neverland (The source material is pretty good recommend reading).

Jojo is previous season but I recommend, the source material is good, have some nitpicking with the animation studio style though.

Any MMO player owes it to themselves to watch "Konosuba: God's Blessing on this Wonderful World".

It features:
- A tank who invests everything into defense and doesn't care about DPS
- A mage who only cares about big damage and has no sustainability
- A healer who doesn't care much about healing and specs all kinds of worthless skills instead
- The sole competent party member, who is saddled with a non-meta class

It's not actually about MMO's, but the way is skewers so many MMO tropes CAN'T be coincidence. XD
