Hi there !
Like the title says, id'l like SE to allow us to glam wands and sceptres over staff for both WHM and BLM.
Some of those wands are really cute but passed lvl15 they become totally useless :/

Are you not able to? Is it a matter of 1-hand vs 2-hand?
Not only are some really cute, some actually cost money even though they become totally useless.

You're not, not sure why to be honest. You can glamour 1-slot items over 2-slot ones in other circumstances.
I'd really appreciate an option like this too, but I don't know how they'd handle the shield slot.
I would like to have wand and shield glam as well. I miss the little wooden shield my CNJ had when starting the game :/
One solution would be to make all staves and rods simply just "Conjurer's Arm"/"Thuamaturge's Arm". There doesn't need to be a distinction between two-handed and one-handed. Drop the shield stats (at least for post-50 shields, which don't currently exist for CNJ/THM), so that people can decide for themselves whether they want a staff/rod or wand/scepter, and whether they want a shield glamour. The animations don't change when you're using a staff/rod vs a wand/scepter+noshield vs a wand/scepter+shield, so it shouldn't be such a big deal to go this route and let people go the full range (even staff/rod with shield if they want).
Wands are a relic of 1.0 and the Devs actions clearly show that they want you to forget they were a thing in the first place. So I doubt anything will come of this
We have been asking for this since ARR and they wont even give us an answer. I would frankly like them to just convert all wands into staffs like they did with primal weapons and give wands to a job all of their own.
It's been a really long time since I've leveled anything pre-50, but I know it hasn't been as long since they implemented the glamour system for pre-50's. When leveling my DRK I definitely remember glamouring over the tin can armor with the Wild Rose set. What happened though was since the body disables the head slot, and the legs disable the feet slot, those two sections remained bare on my character, but the armor did take on the appearance of the body and legs.
I don't know if this has been changed. If not, then I would imagine it would work for wands and scepters as well. You just won't be able to add a shield. Don't hold me to that but definitely worth a try if any of you have not already.
It *seems* like it should work the same, and I had the same thought to begin with, but I've realised there's a difference.
It seems the "glamour items of the same category" rule runs off the labels under the icon in the item stats window. You can glamour the Wild Rose cuirass over the tincan armour because they're both 'body' items. (The hat gets ignored because there's no item in that slot for the glamour to "stick" to.)
Wands and staffs are a different case though, because their item categories are 'one-handed conjurer's arm' and 'two-handed conjurer's arm', thus they are different item types (with different permissions for equipping shields, and animations for stowing your weapon) and aren't able to be glamoured over one another. You might as well be wanting to glamour a sword over it, as far as the program can comprehend.
They technically did. All ARR content that dropped a wand (twintania, garuda, moggle mog etc.) now have staff alternatives that can be exchanged for. They didn't want wands removed outright because of glamour complaints, but they made sure that every bit of content dropped a staff, to push the idea that staffs were the caster weapon outright.
Its messy, but most things 1.0 related are, and theres not a lot that can be done about it (look at the recent discussion about the design of the gunbreaker weapon, gunblade designs are a relic of 1.0 that Yoshi P doesn't like either).
The weathered scepter is still my favorite Black Mage weapon...
The real solution? Let’s bring back mage shields.
