Patch notes: Is that a ....!?

Looking through the patch note, new furniture has been added! And my, my .. is that a LOFT I SPY!? And, perhaps a ...glamour dresser on it???????? :eek::rolleyes:

I'm so excited for this! It's great with how often people have been trying to make their own lofts and how irritating it is to do. I'm so happy to see this implemented!!! Not to mention GLAMOUR DRESSERS if that's what it is. (It HAS to be, right??)

What do you guys think? Excited for it? Will you be making use of the loft? :D

I absolutely love it!!! if not for the fact i just finish my housing last week...
making loft using the glitch for i dunno how many hour stress out the furniture limit cause making loft alone using like 40 items...
gonna try out the loft though... but i do like.mu current house... but... but... eugh...

I am SO VERY EXCITED for this! I wonder if this all is just ONE item? The two differend height "stages" and the stairs on it? :D Ohhhh my god, I can't express my happiness enough. xD
But it's very likely no glamour dresser, since they talked about it not long ago, that they didn't plan on giving it to us as a housing item yet (they had some issues, I think, and they said they wanted to expand the item store limit in it before).
I think it's just a shelf with shiny stones in it, for like goldsmiths, kinda. Like the first shelf looks to me like designed for a weaver. and so on.. :)

But I LOVE that pile of thrown plushies xD I just love everything on that picture. :D

Why does the loft have unlevel flooring? Thats rather irritating to me.

This is a great addition. I am totally going to use it. :)

Might be two items, alternatively if floor items can sit on it the difference in height looks about the right size that placing a regular stage on the lower section might level it out.

That's not a glamour dresser, it's a "gem" display case, I think. I'd rather have the little square shadowbox for gems that I see at vendors (it looks more realistic) but I'll take it. Likely will require something like... 1 topaz, 1 star ruby, 1 sapphire, etc to craft. Like the bread rack.

Bit disappointed that none of the actual issues is resolved yet, eg. max housing items for particulary large house and to an extend medium as well.... but one can hope... I mean it is not like we still should suffer from PS3 lowgrade stuff?

It looks like 2 separate lofts with a half partition? the partition has a different grey color than the lofts.

Definitely some sort of display case and not a glamour dresser. Looks like most of the tabletop furnishings in that screenshot are intended for players who have their houses setup as shops.

I will be very happy if that case requires all the level 50 raw gems to craft. I'm still sitting on a bunch on my alt from when she was leveling her retainers.

I wouldn't expect to see those types of major "fixes" to the housing system until 5.0, if they're even coming. Getting the fix for interactive items this patch was a pleasant surprise.

I'm assuming there are 2 lofts, one with stairs and one without, that they merged together to show them off.

I like that's it's thinner than the stage. Maybe I won't get stuck in the middle of it when I inevitably start jumping around. I still want advanced placement options that negate placement labels and let me specify the location/angles of an object though. I'm tired of the 'tricks' and I want to stop eating up time shifting wall shelving units all over the place, getting things stuck on objects while placing others, etc. The information is already stored, we just need an advanced menu with access to the placement numerical values and limit the values so we can't place things clear out of the house (but still in the walls a bit in case we're trying to hide window, replace plillars, etc).

I'm guessing this is a Table furnishing. I doubt it's Wall-mounted, since the pillars would likely cause issues. It does appear to be one solid piece, which is a bit odd since it limits decorating options. Maybe they'll introduce multiple versions, like one that doesn't have the lower outcropping.

Quite a few people are speculating that it's 2 different pieces (4 if you count that people are guessing the stairs are a set of 5 stairs, so the 10 shown are 2 sets). Basically like how we got the garden partitions in a corner and just a straight piece, we would get loft and loft with the (quarter partition?) railing. It could basically be like a huge wall shelf which would give it table properties without actually being a table. SE doesn't normally use glitches in their shots of new items, so it's probably wall mounted.

I don't buy it. Like I said, I really don't think it could be Wall-mounted, since the pillars would cause issues, which means it would have to be a Table, and Tables have to touch the ground (like stairs are in the sample image). If they were separate items, the "bottom" of them would always be free-floating space. Also that middle bit that connects the two platforms would seem like an odd choice to include as a separate furnishing.

Though I'm basing this on how furnishings have worked up until now, and they're definitely doing a bit of an overhaul to furnishings with this patch, so who knows!

I'm totally going to redecorate my bedroom area with this loft - I don't care if it's all one piece or not. So hyped!

I also think the loft is just one whole piece and therefore a "table" item. And I don't mind that. Would even be awesome, so all the loft + stairs only uses one item slot. ^-^ Like that big round table with all those chairs around it, that I never used. xD

But I still hope there will be a second type of loft, smaller maybe but then not with two different heights.

Being that the stairs are a specific height does make it a bit more likely. It would be so much better if they had the stairs as an item (about half to a 3rd of the height shown in the picture), the flat panel and the small vertical panel all as separate wall mounted items so people can set the height they want and use them as lego pieces where the creativity of use is more so on the player.

After zooming in properly and anylizing for half an hour, I think now maybe it is more parts, too... the stairs look in the middle (so after 5 steps) a little different in between the steps, than on the others... so it might be 2x 5 steps? oO Well guess we find out soon anyway, but I am really curious. :D

I think you all are right about it being a gem case, actually. Darn, I was too excited for it. Haha. Oh well, in the future then. :p

As Jojoya said, I think they would address that in 5.0. But I do agree, the amount is far too limited for the space. In the meantime, I'd recommend closing off sections of the house. It's kind of fun doing this, actually! You can get a really unique layout and you can pad it out a lot more since the space is smaller. I have a plan to do a design in my medium house where I only make use of the main floor and I think it's going to look really awesome. :)

I do wonder how the loft will function. A table item would be likely if the stairs are attached. If not, I wonder how it would work since if it were wall mounted, you can place it at any height and that may make it difficult to place stairs. Can the stairs stack on top of each other maybe? Hm. Guess we'll have to wait and see! I do think that laying the troupe stage on top of it (if you can) may be a good way to deal with the unleveled flooring for those who dislike it. Hmm. Can't wait to see! I'm just praying it doesn't require airship mats. (The bane of my existence... Honestly, really can't stand when things require airship/submarine items......)

Pillars don't cause issues with wall mounted objects unless you try to place the center of those objects over the pillars. I've got a pair of Grade 3 Picture Frames overlapping a pillar in my alt's FC room to create the appearance of square mirrors on each side of it.

The loft itself is likely be 2 wall mounted lofts with a tabletop railing.

The staircase does look like 2 separate pieces used to make a longer stair because of the awkward gap between the 5th and 6th steps that doesn't exist between the others. It could be a wall mounted item as long as the anchor point is the second step from the top, though it would mean we'd have to use the floating trick if we wanted the stairs going the other direction (not a big deal).

If it is a single item, I hope they have it classified as a table for simplicity's sake (not to mention the chance to display tabletop items on it).

This is excellent... the Dev team finally listened to our clamourings for those spiffy bits of furniture one could only procure by glitching.

*cough* Well the patch just became downloadable, so a lot of discord channels are ablaze with random info. ;)

That random info would seem to indicate I can get samples of all the new crafted housing items made and screenshots posted fairly quickly once servers come up. SE is definitely looking out for casual crafters again with this new batch. The script items will take a bit longer as I've been using up my script lately so I'll have to gets some collectibles gathered/made and turned in.

lol, my bad. Game is live now though, and I was definitely wrong! The Wooden Loft, Wooden Beam and Wooden Steps are all separate, wall-mounted furnishings.

The new floating platform is a wall mounted item, easy craft too by the way

That is as low as the platform will go with gridsnap.

Perfect, will be easy to get regular furniture to sit on it correctly as well considering it's wall mounted. Can adjust it up and down to suit rather than glitching and re-glitching stuff until it lines up.

My loft spa can become reality :o

It should be noted that the loft platform is recoginized by the game as a table top - so non tabletop furnishings can't be normally placed on it unless using the floating glitches.

Has anyone managed to get the wood loft steps to mount to a wall going the opposite direction? I can only seem to get them to attach to a partition or a wall with the high end on the left - the only way they seem to go right is if you create a hallway with a partition! :(

Unfortunately it does look like they only attach on their right side (facing left). However, if you use a partition and then float them it'll probably work just fine.

Can confirm. Dropping them on a partition and moving accordingly to float as normal works just fine. They're not even hard to line up. :)
