Your reply reminds me a Nat video about the Windows report error button.

Pretty much
You are literally the only person to ever submit one, so I think they just don't like you.

Maybe they still busy configuring outlook...
They'll fix it in 2.0....
I'm still impressed with the amount of people who have been definitively been able to figure out who is botting and who is not. Usually my rationale is if I send a tell to them and they don't respond, they must be botting! Also if they are crafting in the same place for more than 30 minutes, they are botting for sure! Who could stand that much monotony for more than 30 minutes???
Hey now.. some of us work for a living.. and bring our laptops in.... and have laid back jobs where we can play a game while we work....
The only thing i've really done is level my miner to 30 to get the gobbue mount.. which meant hitting points for hours on end. It was boring, but it gave me something to do while talking to clients/doing support tickets. And sadly was more fun than doing the same leve's or grinding endlessly :(.
Though no one ever sent me a tell ; ;..
I got emoted at once.. said hi, and they laughed and ran off. My online experience with xiv has been less social than playing fallout sadly. Probably why my "month without logging in" is comming up soon :(. No point to log in if you're playing a single player game.
Just because you report someone does not mean they are guilty
You as a player do not determine wether or not someone is a bot, or if they are an rmt, or anything for that matter
For all you know you are falsely accusing someone
As someone above said, just because someone crafts alot doesnt make them a bot(i know i crafty 10 hours a day at least and im not) maybe they just enjoy it more then you?
Just because someone has a stupid name(yeah i know, not likely but still) doesnt mean they are rmt either, maybe they are just idiots trying to be funny with the name?
Just because someone doesnt reply to you doesnt mean they arent there, hey who knows maybe they dont want to respond to you because they have no obligation to?
Yes there are bots out there, yes something is being done(ive had a few disappear that ive reported myself) and yes we know it isnt being done fast enough. The reason is simple, just because you report them doesnt mean they are guilty! When investigating people(something they have to do, they cant just take you at your word) it is very possible that they investigate during times they player is playing legit, and thats unfortunately gonna go in their favor.
I've reported suspected bots on many occasions only to never see them again. Sometimes it takes a little bit but they do get rid of the obvious ones from what I've seen.
Actually started on wutai, though when my friends all left after launch i sorta floated around. Rerolled on selbina as it had the highest population... granted they are all level 50 so its like playing on an empty server.
Fishing is what i did in ffxi and always got called a bot as i was in the same spot more of less 9-5 for weeks at a time. It's hilarious how many people ran up and would start ranting about bots, only to have me say "Yeah, bots are lame... you do realize i'm not a bot". That usually ended with a "lol, my bad". Though you did occasionally have the zealots that said i was botting, just watching the screen constantly.. no pleasing some people. Actually called gm's for a few people harassing me.
I'd do that in this game.. but i don't see a point. After mining 30 levels (just to get my gobboue mount as i didn't know how to get a chocobo and refused to read up on it), and then trying to go back to playing lnc... I don't enjoy playing battle classes... so i'm not even wasting my time. So netflix it is.
The utter lack of any sense of accomplishment in this game makes me sad. I can understand why people would bot.. as you just do the same thing over and over. Mining especially, i could tell you as soon as i went up to a point what it was, and where to hit it... whats the point if you already know and are just going through the motions? This game is nothing more than a carrot on a stick, and it tries to keep you playing with the hope that it gets better... But that's what 2.0 is for... right?
Battle is the same way, hit a few times, spam a combo.. next.. The more i play this game, and the more i read on here and lodestone to more i realize this is turning into a "here's your trophy" game, and i wasted money buying something with SE's name on it.. again.
I still dream of the day when my gladiator(warrior) can use whatever weapon he wants to use.. but i think the dumbed down system is here to stay :(.
People can bot and be at the keyboard... people were complaining about turbo controllers being used to craft. Its all the same really. Its just a difference if someone is there or not.
I had a sort of strange friend in ffxi.. for some reason he could never kill maat as a taru blackmage (he tried at least 15 times as i was always going with him to get testi's). So he spent all his time gardening (with 15 mules) and crafting. He wrote a script that he would run when windy was in first and he could buy mythril ore at the airship vendor and craft them into ingots. He'd do that and chat (as he had everything mouse driven), or watch movies.
He got the idea to do that after he saw me and my fiancee(at the time) playing wow in a "break" from ffxi. You could queue your crafts up, and go do something else.. So when i asked why he was arguably botting, he said he just added a feature that should of been in the game... guess i couldn't argue.
I mean, someone in a ls i was in ls chat that they were botting a craft and going afk. I called a gm and reported it to task force just to see if they would do... anything.... Result was weeks of said char bot crafting @ repair npc.
I'm more interested in the reason we have a support section ingame.
The only answer I ever got from them is to visit the support site outside the game - why not just write it into the help section? It's ridiculous we have to report anything outside the game while support GMs spend their time ingame copy pasting the same answer to every question instead of porting to the player and poking the bot themselves.
I have said it 100 times before and I will say it again, while there are people that are suspicious you cannot definitivly say they are botting without investigating.
SE has 2 options, wait on account suspention pending an investigation, this looks like they arent doing anything and people complain.
Option 2 they get a report of botting and instantly suspend accounts while they investigate, this shows they are doing something, but innocent accounts can be suspended for weeks just because they decided to craft, people complain.
SE are in a no win scenario, people will complain ether way, they might as well not make innocent people suffer because of it.
My linkshell have an afk/crafting spot some craft alot like 3-10 hours, this can look like botting when they are constantly in the same spot crafting and some of these would get affected but i know they are not botting.
Yeah because one would totally love to play a character named adgöfjf psatiepo. I see so many parties of people enjoying that unique namestyle, but since other players seem to not understand the charm of such names, they have no choice but to only level through leves with likeminded people like ouowek ohjals or aifjiuer oseöl.
rofl yeah rmt names are so easy to spot. they could just ban china ISP =P make it a lot easier../hides =X
I'd imagine though atm their task force is small and they are busy focusing on reshaping the game >.<..
they will get back to you in 2.0 XD
I know this thread stopped being serious a while back, but with regard to RMT...
The reason RMT get banned is for Real Money Trading...which brings me to a point I've heard in a few of these threads about RMT not getting banned: WHO THE !"£$% WOULD BUY GIL IN THIS GAME RIGHT NOW? I can choco from Ul'dah and farm some mobs for two hours, come back, and sell 100k worth of crap. ¬_¬
When 2.0 hits and new players start coming who can QQ about not having enough time to make money while doing the exciting content of FFXIV 2.0 (and/or the economy is fixed), the RMT will start trading, and SE will hopefully already have them on a "watchlist" so that when Relleslig Ahldskyf sends 100k to Idgaf Sottubhsams, who sends it to Ima Noob that just started 5 hours before, the STF can go, "Hmmmm..." and make a conclusion.
Right now the only evidence that anyone can come up with is that they have funny names and friends with funny names, and they're hoarding gil. Since names can be as funny as you like and us normal players are basically hoarding gil as well, we have to wait for them to start trading to say that they're trading money for real life money. Right now, they're mostly being completely legal.
well legal up to the point where 3rd party software is used
Special task force is special. That is all
I reported a bot not that long ago. The guy, and all his other characters, recently disappeared from his 24/7 camping spot.
Could be a coincidence, but I like to think that they did their investigation and banned all the accounts in question. So, no, I don't think they are ignoring all reports.
STF. We can't even get a GM to answer us ingame.
i reported a newly found bot today, will see how long it lasts
