First let me say this. For me, stormblood was generally a letdown for me. We get the same formula they give to us constantly, i wasn't even expecting something "new" from the game. Also the fact that eureka exists didn't help either. There were less dungeons, less story quests, less things that was actually new. What we got in SB was a reskin of HW. Gazelskin maps, crafter & dungeon gears etc.
But i actually started to think, with the recent fanfest, developers actually listen to the community. Pagos was an absolutely nightmare, i didn't enjoy any of it. It had made me unsub for 2 months after that, because i was that burned out and tbh, i had started to believe this game was going in a wrong direction for me. Also giving the news FFXV was also a disappointment for me and recently director of FFXV resigned made me think like "SE isn't doing well".
Well the fact that i somehow enjoyed pyros started to make me rethink things. Eureka is still a mess, but still devs improved A LOT in pyros. And i don't think it was possible if there was no feedback from players, or if they just ignored us. I am still in doubt about haydatos but i hope they learn from their mistakes, which pyros started to make me think they do.
Also with the recent fanfest and liveletter, they are actually trying to make this game more enjoyable for everyone. World visit is a really nice idea if it is executed well. They are trying to solve the server issues somewhat with new servers and server redistribution. New game + looks awesome if it won't effect my current gameplay because i love the story. Trust system idk about but it can't be a negative thing either Haurcefaunt besides me. Also Viera, Blue mage. Gunblade. Ishargdian housing and DoH end game and possibly 1-2 more new jobs.
But all i see is people complaining about EVERYTHING.
1. They complain BLU is garbage already. It is a waste of development and content whatever.
2. They complain limited jobs are a bad idea (which SE said BLU is the first one so we might possibly see more jobs like this)
3. They are complaining about TP being removed.
4. They are complaining about Viera might not be the style they want.
(They are mostly complaining about BLU).
I mean we are probably getting a new tank and healer. If we don't count BLU as a regular dps, we might be getting a regular dps too. Like in HW launch, we got ninja in 2.5 but we got 3 jobs in HW launch. Even if we didn't get any other job except BLU, we got 15 jobs in this game. There are 15 jobs you can raid, run stuff and do stuff whatever. I am kinda glad blue mage will be different. I am glad there is diversity in actions. There is exploration and probably expoiliting weaknesses. I am glad it won't be a set of actions i will learn through quests and it will be same for everyone. It is a fresh thing in this game.
And there was a possibility devs wouldn't be bothered with BLU. It isn't really fit for the design of this game. You cannot possibly balance it with the current system we have. So devs might just said like "meh, why bother". I mean they are already making tons of money. They will continue that no matter you guys complain or not. The game is a success no matter what. They could have just left BLU out and just introduce regular jobs. But they are trying something new, because community wanted BLU so much. But all i see is "it is a disappointment, it is garbage, it is not good, you are making a mistake here" etc.
In the end, i feel like complainers on the forums cannot be satisfied ever. If BLU was a regular job with set skills, they would complain about that too. If Viera won't be FFXII style, they will complain. They complain about stuff they didn't even see in action yet. What if BLU isn't a regular job? You still got 15 jobs atm to satisfy yourself. Go and stay positive for one second.
I am all in for criticising the game but acting like you could do so much better while balancing everything and somehow trying to please most of the community, do so and make a better blue mage then.
Anyway, i like the BLU as it will be. It is new and not formulated as the other jobs. It allows exploration and stuff. It would be better to use it in duties ofc, but it is not the end of the world or a development waste if we do not. I will still enjoy it.

I complain because I genuinely care about the FF series and come from playing it since I was 9. I don’t like that this game tries to stray from the fact it is a ff game at its core. Take pride in the series you are coming from instead of cash grabbing from other genres and games with no substance.
I complain about tp mostly because of the term and lore. I’m big on lore -

yes this Blue mage on its own could be Fun but its locked to like 30% of the game learning spells and Doing 5 year old content we have already done before will lose its gimmick REAL quick.
people have wanted Viera for ages and of course they are more worried they wont like how they look and people are also worried how much the game will change with TP being removed some dont like how the game got simplified with SB and butchering classes. -

Which to me is a disgrace to blue mage and final fantasy. I most definitely will not be playing blue mage in its current idea. I think limited jobs should be scrapped. Especially since you can't main them. They should instead of being called jobs they should be called side quests.

I am reserving my personal judgement on BLU until its release, but I can understand why people are upset about it.
I have been waiting for Dancer in FFXIV since 1.0, and I am still holding out hope that it is coming as a ShB job because I want to main it. I prefer it being a healer since that is the role I enjoy most. This is just my personal wants though.
From my point of view if they had released Dancer and made it a limited job where I can't main it? I'd be pissed considering the above and how long I have waited to see it in this game since it would be locked out of almost all the content I personally enjoy doing.
Picking a job to be your main means you want to use it in almost all content....BLU being a limited job makes it so people cannot main it and I am sure there are quite a few players who wanted to main BLU.
If you enjoy anything end game be it 24 man raids, savage raids, dungeons, MSQ, trials, extremes, PVP, Eureka, PoTD/HoH, and anything else I haven't listed that BLU can't participate in normally then you are sol for this job. This is inevitably going to piss some people off, it just wasn't avoidable with how they decided to do this.
Yes, if they had done BLU in a way that wasn't true to how FF BLU is supposed to be it may have pissed off other people too, so it is a no win situation of simply not being able to please everyone and I acknowledge that part of it.
Just yeah...I feel people have the right to voice disappointment as paying customers even if I am not really hopping on the complain train myself about BLU I can at least look at it from another PoV, especially as I would have been in the same boat if they had done that to my personal highly anticipated job: Dancer.
You have to kind of put yourself into their shoes and imagine if there was a job you really were excited for and waiting for for a long time and they added it and you can't main it in all the content you enjoy. Just thinking about it from my perspective if they had done that to Dancer....sigh it would suck. -

Imagine for a moment that bard did not exist. Then in 4.5 bard was released as a limited job, it can only use the perform action and by learning different songs in perform you apply various buffs and damage, because for some arbitrary reason bard is special and must stay true to its source material, but this is hard to balance because people might be bad at music, so its locked out the df and locked at level 50. If bard was your favourite class this would be a kick in the teeth, why couldnt bard say, use a bow, or have songs set to abilities to make it fit in with the other classes, why does bard need to be this red headed step child. This what BLU fans are currently feeling.

For every surge of complaints, you have to keep in mind that for each issue, that was in fact someone's "thing" they were carrying and meant a lot to them. It's not a nice feeling and complaints from hurt people are to be expected. Those on either side laughing at misery and taunting them, or just fanning the flames are the problem.
Thank you for the empathy even if it's not something that you particularly identify with. There are certainly complainers for the sake of complaining, and people who feel it's their job to shut down anyone who has an opinion on something, but between these two extremes are people who agree and disagree yet are willing to hear each-other out and make compromises. -

For TP people are right to wonder why they are removing it. They are also right in fearing that the classes that now uses both TP and MP will be gimped when they first introduce this system to the servers.
To me removing TP feels more like a change for the sake of change. It makes no sense. -

Plus, both Tactician and Refresh are enmity reducers. They'd have to completely rebalance PLD if they didn't do this, and 1, 2, 3 combos practically may as well be free already. Eureka is a prime example. Your gear gets synched to a low item level, so it's basically complete useless. There are too many different systems, too much niche content and you are too often synched down or have to level again, wich makes character progression kinda pointless. They should streamline the game, so everyone sits in the same boat and creating parties becomes easier. But instead they keep adding more new game systems without a clear direction.
We also have 3 different systems to save glamour gear: Glamour dresser, Calamity Salvager and the Armoire. Why?
Then they add systems wich never get updated, like the Egi glamour or (my personal gripe) spearfishing... -
