they're called "leves"
Not leves like actual fates with better rewards
As long as one of them has you compete against Gilbert in goldsmithing.

Auto correct is crap and can't edit on mobile
How would you suggest such a FATE work to make it different from what we already do for leves? FATEs are combat oriented, even the collection FATEs.
If your issue is leve rewards don't seem significant enough to make them worth doing, wouldn't it be better to fix the leve rewards instead?
Could be all sorts of ideas.
For example, put them in main towns and cities, visible only to crafters, an example being let's say the Goldsmith guild needs help with a big work order. While the Fate is active you can click a box for materials near the NPC and create hq work order items for contribution. Reward could be red scrips and crafter exp, based on number of items handed in.
Or another Fate could be "repair the broken machine" in the open world. You click destination points on the machine, which opens a craft window where completing the craft completes some repairs. So one repair might give "Repair progess 008/100" HQ gives better repair points.
Or a fun one could be an npc group under attack from Garleans and you need to craft cannon balls which they use to repel the attack.
Could even utlize level sync, which makes things more interesting.
A thought I've had: Palace of the Dead, for crafters/gatherers edition
Activities could include:
Repairing gate mechanisms, or bridges, or teleporters, or other devices to advance
Creating items that charge up a mechanism instead
Providing HQ gifts to "troll" type monsters that won't let you through otherwise
Creating a trap or diversion to distract a monster to let you advance
Creating a potion or food item to heal an NPC, which will in some way aid you in advancing (slaying a monster, using a key, etc)
Crafters could make the thing from a supply box, gatherers could get it out of nodes along the walls or from water, etc.
I like both Liam and Risvertasashi's ideas, crafting could definitely use with some truly unique content.
Crafting already have alot of exp gaining methods
leves
2 sets of weekly deliveried
Beast tribes
And GC turn ins
Granted all are limited to some extent
Im sure another way to gain exp so people dont have to rely on grinding would be welcomed but a fate system for crafter isnt the way to go.
He's isn't talking about it for EXP, he's talking about it for materials. Providing more ways of gating challenging items to craft, making some of these items hard to get in difficult open world content. 1.0 had NMs, Eureka has proven SE really doesn't want to bring back NMs so may as well make them FATEs. SE could make it harder to obtain silver and gold rewards in fates, increasing the rewards rarity and value, giving players more reason to join in them and go back to the open world instead of ether that is teleporting instantly into dungeons and raids.
I'm not the only person in our about 20-man fc who is heavily into crafting and gathering. It'd be nice if there was appropriate challenge and reward for crafting and gathering fates, something you could sell on the mb for nice price, which means a rare crafting incredient you couldn't get anywhere else. It'd make the world feel more alive.
As crafting is more than just pressing one button in this game (unless you macro or quick synthesis it) it'd be good to take advantage of that and give crafters something to work for in higher and highest levels.
But, if there were crafter and gatherer fates other than for max level, I'd assume level would be synced and you'd be able to use skills of your synced level only and your gear stats would ofc be synced too. That could make things interesting even with the lower level fates.
DoL/DoH Fates could be cool.
Giving a reason to take your DoH out into the overworld, as well as adding to the depth of the world.
Such as, instead of always fighting bad guys while someone else fixes something, why not use your own expertise to fix something while knights/soldiers protect you. Or go gather materials to help someone study the land (I mean, basically all of HW Mining quests could have just been FATES where you went and dug up all the minerals while the knights protected you from the wildlife)
As far as rewards go, could always give unique materials that can't be found elsewhere, thus improving the MB economy while people trade these materials and/or items crafted with them. This could be in addition to some more standard rewards, like maybe Scrips, Gil and other less unique materials.
