Unless you're able to upgrade the tome Bow to i400, it's actually inferior to Suzaku's due to it lacking Crit. I wouldn't bother with it until you've purchased everything else that is BRD bis. And even then...

What content do you want to do? Or rather: Are you doing Savage or not?
If you arent doing Savage... it doesnt really matter, to be honest.
So, if you arent raiding: Get the Suzaku-Bow and spend your tomes on something else. It has better substats - Crit and DH - and is only 5 ilvl lower than the Scaevan Magitek Bow. If you're not raiding you wont get the chance to upgrade that bow to ilvl400 and are probably better served with a bow that has nice substats and only loses out on 5 ilvl.
If you are raiding and have a shot at upgrading the Scaevan Bow in the near future, I'd save up for that - specially because you should have the tomestones anyways, considering that only the gloves, belt, shoes, earrings and rings are actually nice for bard. -

Yea I haven't looked recently, last I heard MCH had to sub some crafted pieces to make up for raid weapon skill speed. Either way, the only difference is BRD gets more dps from crit procs while MCH rotation is only slightly screwed over by skill speed. 6 of one, half dozen of the other. My only point was BRD is not the only job dealing with this conundrum. Personally I have to put MCH on the back burner since WAR is my main, I totally farmed up the Suzaku totems before I realized MCH weapon was garbage lol. Will be awhile before I can get tome weapon for it

My original point has been that BRD is a strange job that has already consistently sacrificed main stat for a substat (Sigmascape BiS sacrificed several points of DEX for a couple hundred points of Critical Hit), and now they’re willingly sacrificing weapon damage for Critical Hit (most BRDs won’t touch the i400 bow because of the lack of Crit—fun fact: the UwU/Diamond bow is actually considered better than the i380 crafted bow because the crafted bow doesn’t have Crit on it, and you cannot pentameld enough Crit on it to match the value of the UwU/Diamond Bow).Quote:

It's more than "I don't want skill speed", too much will entirely cuck MCH rotation. It's not an opinion, it's fact. Just like BRD getting more DPS from crit procs is a fact and not opinion. At the end of the day, I just blame SE's poor quality control xD
