Joke on them, I never finished Pagos. B)
Too bad I didn’t get into Pagos when it was new. Now I’m too far behind I think..
I'm sure it'll be a blast for all twelve of the people that bothered to suffer through Pagos.
Someday I hope we get to meet the dartboard that designed Eureka.
They said the same lies when they promised more content with SB and the reduction of the number of dungeons.
What we got? Same re-skinned things.
Anemos was ok but we had too much fun for YP it seems so they had to destroy it somehow.
If Eureka #3 ends up the same or worse than Pagos then it means they are butchering the game with an intention and not due to incompetence.
They really didn’t learn from Diadem.............
Glad I decided not to waste time on Pagos after the dumpster fire that was its launch. Sucks, since I actually enjoyed Anemos, and wanted to give Eureka a chance. Maybe I’ll do it in 5.0 when it’s been nerfed into the ground.
I doubt I'll even complete my relic in Pagos, so I won't have to care about Pyros's relic (but I want the hairstyle that might drop in Pyros; at the very least, I should level up and complete the story quest).
I'm leveled but that's about as much as I'm going to do. Got all Anemos weapons but I have zero Pagos weapons.
10/10 content. I'm actually playing other games instead.
Hmm yes yes very good, rng secondary stats, may I suggest the devs also copy titan forged weapons from WoW? There should definitely be a chance that once you upgrade your relic it can be 10-15 ilvls higher than normal. Just a small chance though!
Since they introduced the challenge log for Eureka, I enjoyed Anemos. I jump in for an hour or so once a week still as I slowly upgrade stuff for my level 70 jobs. Likewise Pagos. Run with friends for a hour most nights, nearly lvl 35 now, have one Pagos weapon and very much enjoying this content. Beautiful zones, great music, and I get to cap my tomes without having to go near the toxic folks that seem to inhabit the DF these days. Very much looking forward to Pyros.
I appreciate that I'm apparently in a tiny minority ( it is more than a minority of one since my friends agree with me but still) and I'd prefer if no one got aggressive with me for expressing my opinion. But yeah, meet someone who LIKES Eureka
I had just gotten to 20 in Anemos...already tentative about essentially starting all over again in Pagos and having to deal with RNG at the end of it with light. Now we're getting even more RNG with the relic weapons, on top of probably not having access to our mounts and feeling like we're starting over yet again if we're going by Pagos.
Yeah, this is probably going to be a skip for me as well. Ridiculous. As is tradition, I'm curious how our JP counterparts are viewing Pyros.
Pyros... great name for the next relic... . PYROS - the next grind will be so FIERY, it will leave you BURNED OUT.
Hahaha, they still don't know wtf they're doing. Rerolling on a relic? Brilliant! Ugh.
Pyros could be amazing content, but we need to get through Pagos first. I don't know about everyone else, but if they don't change the mob-grind style of Pagos I'm not stepping foot in there.
"We've nerfed Pagos, you now only need to grind 1500 mobs instead of 2000" won't cut it. I refuse to pay money to force myself through content I'm not enjoying. The only real fix I can see that would salvage it is to make it so all NM's give a reasonable amount of light. By all means make grinding still more time efficient, but at least let there be the option.
Well no matter how good the last one might be, I wont set foot into this..so much work for a copy of a failed content..and instead of at least getting some truly new ideas for the relic weapons, we are forced into one content if we want to, still have to farm Light and drops and now have to even deal with more RNG..
Do they even learn from past mistakes? Its like...*has no words for that*
Where was this discussed?? Did I miss a live letter? Anyone with a source/article, I would just like to read through myself. This may be the end of it for me, I have a Pagos relic finished but I will not work on something that has to be retooled to the RNG gods for suitable secondaries.....this is absurd!
For one is not forced content it's optional. The funny thing is no matter how much we complain people still do it. Also if you looked into the way feed back is being submitted on the last Producer letter http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/threads/374760 they are listening to suggestions. Some of us do Like Eureka even though it could be hell sometimes. As for relic it's just an easy way to catch up who did not do previous along with gear. More updates will be coming and sadly those who have the same perspective of " I won't set foot into this..." always end up doing so sooner or later.
I am good with it if it comes close to Anemos. I am also good with the stats because to me it won't matter in the end. The weapon will be relegated to glamour by this time next year if indications of an expansion release are right.
Welp, looks like my relic is just going to be for glamour, I really don't feel like grinding for RNG any more than I have to.
Anemos was reasonable. Pagos has too much RNG. I'll keep doing Eureka, I'm not as big a hater as others, but Pagos is a big step down from Anemos.

I don't really understand the dev's fixation with needless RNG. After a certain point, it just becomes randomness for the sake of randomness.
Rng secondary stats.. wow they seriously learn nothing.
They're gonna make it another light grind where you have to farm a certain amount in order to reroll your stats. If you don't get the stats you want you'll have to do the grind all over again but you have to farm more and more light for each reroll you do.
Lasting Content™
Because it's a lazy way of making content more "long-lasting"... Or it would be, if players actually wanted to put up with that. I don't see what's wrong with having a set, fixed goal point. I don't mind a grind, but only as long as I can see where I'm going, how close I am to reaching the goal, and actually be able to plan things out. It's an entirely different thing when you have to rely on RNGesus with no real rhyme or reason to what you're doing.
Are they seriously doubling down on the loathsome "RNG for your BIS" shit they've done in the "smash hit" content that was Diadem 2.0?
Am I reading this correctly?
If so, then oh wow, Eureka really IS another Diadem.
Is this how Yoshida going to roll for every final patch of the expansion? Baiting people into repeating snorefest content for stuff that will not benefit them in any meaningful way unless they do content that 95% of the people don't do, or use a parser, thing that Yoshida himself doesn't like, and will be immediately obsolete the moment next expansion rolls by.
Much good those i280(or was it 285?) RNG Diadumb weapons did for people who got them, bet it meant a lot to them in their sub-level 65 dungeon runs.
Absolutely amazing.
I love how progression has nothing to do with the effort you put in but whether RNG decides to play nice. That's always such compelling and interesting gameplay!
It pretty much screams they have nothing to keep people occupied outside the usual. At this point, unless something drastically changes, I'll be skipping the relic entirely for Stormblood. I've already barely touched Pagos. RNG stats aren't fun, Yoshida. How difficult is this for you to understand?
afaik, Fan translation of JP Developer Blog on the Lodestone
That being said, I'm interested in the Logos system right now... so I'll reserve judgement til then.
From what it sounds like, Logos system will feature Cross-ROLE skills... allowing for non-traditional (for FFXIV) setups like DPS Tanks and DPS Healers. Which piques my interest... but will it be fun?! Also what are the impacts on Tanks and Healers proper, are they gonna get full ham DPS skills?
Our relic weapons have always given us a step where we can chose what secondary stats to apply. Doesn't sound like there's any RNG involved in this step either.Quote:
The main feature of the third upgrade of the Eureka weapons is that you can push secondary attributes such as spell speed to their maximum limit. It'll be a feature where players can create and attach the stats they would like to. -Yoshi P
Except thats what a lot of people, including me, have been saying about Eureka ever since they showed us Anemos on a Livestream. “Its going to be Diadem 3.0/4.0 but with Relic so it wont die in a few weeks”. Everyone shot it down as “Doom Calling” yet lo and behold its another Diadem.
As it is now the content is suffering with Pyros’ activity being questioned given how many people have been pushed away with the Pagos and you need to wonder why the Devs are so insistent on keeping “Dino Island” content as the crowning jewel of this expansion. I wouldn’t be amazed if the way to roll the stats is in the form of an Emergency Mission that is map wide akin to Diadem’s final iteration.
(Side Note: To everyone who blames FFXI players for Eureka remember this isn’t a response to their call but rather and insistence to keep the Island farm that was prevalent since the original Diadem, FFXI systems are their attempt at prolonging this.)
Way to kill the relic for many of us, development team! Congratulations! Heck, you might have even dealt a crippling blow to Pyros too, making it an even more hated place than Pagos, and Pagos is terrible!
You have most certainly made me lose interest on Pyros, that is for sure. Seriously, stop Eureka now. Kill the content now because its just going to die on its own anyway. Binding the relic to that place will not save it as too many people are needed to get things done.
No more Diadem. No more Eureka.
It's clearly catering to the crowd of rng grinders, wether those people like it or just put up with.
And that's my issue with the latter. Whenever someone ingame mentions that they don't like Eureka but they wanna grab a couple of people to spend some time in it, it basically skews metric perception because unlike some other parts of the game that demands mandatory participation, this one's very optional. So naturally, devs go "well they say they don't like it...but they do it anyways. And they can avoid the content or stop progressing through it but they come back anyways. Must be the glam. Let's keep putting nice glams in it to justify our stay on course".
Here's the ultimate question about rerolling...what will it cost us? If we have Anemos NM spawn rates and it takes the equivalent of 2 gold rank NMs to pay for it, I will accept that. If the price is steep and we're talking Pagos level spawns, I'm out, period. I refuse to do this relic if that's the BS they want us to do. I've done 3 of every relic since ARR, but I will walk right out the damned door.
Even if the gameplay is Pyros is super amazing (ha!) a lot of us will never see it because we gave up with Pagos.
