TV's in houses maybe?

Can we add TV's for houses in the future expansions etc?
Record your journey or raids and put them in your tv for everyone to watch it?

Can they add fridge's, toilets, and working sinks same time.

They won't put streaming video into a furnishing due to technical hurdles to overcome but things like TVs and refrigerators also messes with their lore, they aren't doing contemporary appliances like that. I can't remember the exact quote, Yoshida once said something like if you think you can solve putting compressed video streaming into an mmo then go apply for a job at S-E. I don't think it's likely or something they are actively trying implement, he was just responding to a question.

The problem is, the role gameplay and lore wise such a device could take is already taken by the non-technological Unending Journey and Duty Recorder, which are effectively journals you've written of your past adventures, and the playback is literally your character's reliving the events in their head. Although there are some display-like devices seen in Eorzea (most notably the machines for Lord of Verminion in Gold Saucer), I suspect they work somewhat like a more advanced camera obscura and not actually a TV.

Scripted objects that allow you to play video streams from external sources through the object would be possible. That would work for people who have twitch or youtube content. Some kind of Allagan steampunk CRT would probably fit in. The problem would be keeping things within the game's content rating and there could possibly be issues with copyrighted content.

With Cid and all the technology he comes up with you would think some type of video device and refrigerator would be a piece of cake.

We have a mobile phone (allagan tomestone) in game starting from 4.4, so future possibilities are unlimited!

The Garleans already have things like security cameras and display monitors, so maybe we'll see more high-tech furnishings in 5.x.

And don’t the Garleans have some kind of video screen on their airship?

Still, I don’t like the idea of personal TVs myself. I feel like having one on a high-tech battleship is a lot less jarring than the prospect of them being common items that go in people’s houses.

And then there’s the question of what can be shown on them, at a practical rather than idealistic level. If we can’t put our own screenshots as pictures in our house, I doubt we’d be able to save and replay our own video.

They already have. It's called Eureka Pagos =D

All I want is a proper toilet furniture so I could dish the Alpine Chair + Cabinet combo which takes up 2 furniture slots to imitate a toilet.

I use a medium fish tank as a TV with a koi in it. My friends joke I watch too much Food Network.

Can't tell if this is sarcasm or not but I would actually like these.
They already added a shower which means their is some kind of plumbing in our homes so having a toilet and working sinks is possible and would love to have one.
A fridge would also be nice with all the modern day stuff they're adding now. I think the devs stopped caring about the lore and what time period ff14 is suppose to be around when it comes to player housing furnish which is good thing imo.

It appears to be the Gold Saucer Senor Sabotender Trophy which is a Mogstation item (which in GS just flashes an image of a cactuar whenever a GATE is currently available) with the (original, non-changeable) Ul'dah Cityscape painting clipped over it.

I have no idea how they managed to do that though, as I'm surprised the screen can function as a wall (the painting is classed as 'wall mounted').

Yep! You just float trick the picture just barely behind the black "wall" within the trophy. That way, when you interact with it, removing this black wall, originally revealing the cactaur, you now show the picture frame instead. Whoever originally discovered this was really amazing.:3 I also used a display stand to hold and a glade lanturn inside it, to lighten it up a bit.

Does Eorzea have television networks?

The only way they would do it would involve the duty recorder, but then that's only limited to 2 duties being stored (so not much choice), and they get wiped every patch. Unfortunately, I don't see a way for this to work. The other ideas such as sinks and toilets however are much easier to implement, and we already have working showers as someone has pointed out.

It'd be cool if you could display the latest patch trailers on them maybe, kinda like that old Playstation 3 hangout thing you could watch various trailers for games on TVs all over the maps.

Let's just steal one of Omega's monitor drones after we kill it next patch.

Other than that, a television screen would look horribly out of place in the residences... I'm not trying to walk into PSN's Home or whatever.

The allagans had hologram projectors and display monitors, the garleans also have computers and displays, and our workshop has a hologram display for airships; I hardly think a TV is out of the scope of whats possible. Personally I'd like a monitor/projector built into the Unending Journey that can display a cutscene of your choice.

FINE, Allagan viewing screen whatever!

When in doubt, Allagans lol. Yeah, the recordings might be a bit more than the game can handle at this point, but I wouldn't mind an Allagan Cryo-container or some such. Classy bathroom features would be a huge plus as well.

This game is ludicrously antiquated, I'm still unable to forget all the tumult generated when I suggested SE to add a simple toilet, from detractors to plain idiots most players were against the idea because they don't think people inside the game need a clean way to defecate!...


I mean it's just something almost meaningless and yet there are those that oppose the idea saying the obviously lacking dev team should focus more on content creation which they won't anyway because they already have a fixed plan for the length of the expansion!...
