I would love to have the ability to "charm" NPC's in the play area. They could just do their usual attacks/spells and only certain NPC's could be charmed (nature based). I think this would fit very well into the lore of the shroud and being connected to nature.
Am i Crazy? Used to do this in other older mmo's and i miss it. They would just be temporary and if you forgot to keep them charmed they would go back to default npc status. This was a lot of fun!

This is a charm ability where as you charm an npc creature in the field and it becomes your ally for a period of 180 seconds or until it dies. It would cast level equivalent spells that are already in it's repertoire. We do share some similarities with the other magic classes already. So it would need to be designed to take on primal fights and raid bosses and such as well. Lastly... for helping out with DPS, well, that's what your chocobo companion is for. Yeah, ok, choco companion's only good spec is healing. Tank and DPS specs could definitely use some buffs. But it's a lot easier to ask SE to buff something that exists than it is to ask them to introduce a completely new but niche class... -

As far as helping with dps... I played most of the game as a WHM and I've never had any trouble with that really. You certainly put out less damage than an actual dps who knows what they're doing in those situations but when it comes to like instances story battles and stuff I don't think we need any help.
Also thematically this is just so unrelated to CNJ and WHM. There is nothing about controlling others or making others do the work for you. You use your connection to nature to use Stone and Aero, not to brainwash innocent people and make them fight for you.
The more I think about this the more it feels like a primal tempering people. I'm really opposed to it, I think it's the opposite of what WHM needs both thematically and gameplay-wise. -

Beastmaster was a thing in FFXI, and it was great too until it was decided that an entire alliance of BST is too stronk and a series of nerfs crushed the job into oblivion. A repeat of that could be fun, the spiral downward was pretty wild.
