Louhi gender mistake?

Hello,
I was recently reading Louhi's FATE description and notice it refer to the voidsent with the male pronoun. In real world mythology and demonology Louhi is a wicked queen. While I know Final Fantasy creatures are loose representations of there real world mythological counterparts. I can't help but wonder if this is a translation error of some kind.

Its probably not a mistake. This Louhi was just named that way cause he was designed after a boss from Mystic Quest called Ice Golem. Or at least thats my depiction of the

Eh, FF games have always played it a bit fast and loose with mythological/religious figures and their gender. Look no further than Shiva.

I'm pretty sure Shiva isn't named after the Hindu god and is instead named cause how the japanese would say the english word "shiver"

Shiva is Shiva, the kana isn't anything but Shiva. It was never Shiver...

To add to that... many representations of Shiva in Buddhism portray him with blue skin. Shiva, the Final Fantasy summon, has blue as her predominant color scheme across the entire franchise.

Looks like a guy to me also louhi similar to louie a guys name

Tsukuyomi is also male in Shinto, so switching genders is nothing new.

Thank you, can't tell you how much this irked me in game. At least they reference the change in the TT card.

Thing is that in Louhi's other Final Fantasy appearance (Final Fantasy: 4 Heroes of Light) was a female and a queen like in the source material. Which is way it makes me wonder if this is a translation mistake.

You are correct that you, can't expect every English speaker to know hiragana and katakana, but I'm curious, what resource sites say this? It's not on the wiki, what others are there?

Its on the Final Fantasy wikia page for Shiva. Although the page has been updated since i last read it two years ago, it still mentions the "shiver" naming idea, as well as quite a few YouTube channels.
