Trump's 'Murica is Garlemald 100% lol
Hmm... Australia.
Likely Limsa or Gridania. Since we are girt by sea and everything in the wild tries to kill us?
Must likely be from Sharlayan or Garlemald.
Well, as a New Zealander, probably Gridania. All the trees here, and they breed Chocobos in gridania, and NZ used to have chocobo-like birds called the Moa :P
Kugane! XD
Ala Mhigo or Thavnair o/
Let me give you some baklava or moussaka, dear traveller!
Costa del Sol, of course.
... that would be the New Jersey equivalent, right? o.o
Not sure where I'd be geographically, but we'd probably practice a form of Sephirot worship, what with his Kabbalistic and Jewish themes.
Well, since I'm from the UK...
Garlemald. The Imperial accent is the closest thing to my own, we had the whole 'Empire' thing going on for a while and since the sun is a rarity here and I'm part Irish...I'm pale enough to pass for a Garlean!
Cold weather, slightly elitist, societal divide...
Hey, I know why I like Ishgard now, it feels like home!
The New World, if the regalia is anything to go by.

Otherwise, I guess this quote fits me too.
Based on the erroneous perception of where I live, it is Coerthas. The thing is, if you think of pre-calamity Coerthas, then it becomes accurate.
Irl, I live relatively close to Costa del Sol (I mean the real Costa del Sol from Spain, Europe, where I guess SE got the name and the inspiration from). So I guess...
But I want to be from Gridania (T^T)
Ishgard was inspired by german (and france) culture, right? So I think I belong to there :O
Considering how little I go out or socialize beyond the net, I might as well come straight out of some Allagan Research Facility >_>
I have to agree with you there (sorry Niqe!) - by all accounts Meracydia is Hydaelyn's Terra Australis Incognita. Having said that, Ala Mhigo definitely does fit some aspects of Australia though too (harsh environment, it's people with a reputation for being tough-as-nails and giving rise to more than a few talented soldiers, even it's national anthem does have more than a passing resemblance in musical structure to Australia's, as noted by more than a few people on the lore forum. ;)
Little wonder then as an Aussie I had Enki be Ala Mhigan by birth, as it just suited her perfectly. ;)
Also as an Australian, I honestly found Eastern Thanalan to be... nostalgic, I guess? It's only this zone that kinda feels 'homey' to me (visually... and excluding the aether crystal landmark, of course).
As a Swede, Give me a IKEA skin for my house.
Limsa Lomisa! And Ul'dah since it is historically just US politics with Arabian aesthetics to showcase historical similarities between pre -colonial ME and industrial America pre-moving towards the rise of unions and civil rights movements
Living in Munich i would say Garlemand would probably fit best.
Terrible politics, arrogant people, propaganda against refugees but all in one a very safe and comfy city.. it fits very well x)
Coming from the Middle East, I'd be from Thavnair... or Ala Mhigo.
I suppose somewhere in Coerthas now that it's frozen over.
Yanxia. Gramp's house and many others in the village look like the ones in Yanxia. Terrain is similar, too, paddy fields, granite quarries, bamboo trees, everything. No tigers though, just free range Silkies (chicken).
I'm both Hawaiian, Japanese and Chinese. So I would do either Pacific islander (first) and Asian (second).
If I'm going by Pacific Islander blood, then I'd be from Doma, being that the US overthrew our Monarchy in Hawaii and played similar to the Garleans in conquering our people.
If I'm going by Asian ethnicity, then I'd be from Kugane.
That's... hard. There is nothing really who symbolize Spain. Can be maybe the north of Thanalan, since Thanalan itself represent Africa. For some reason, Sabotenders have Spanish names. But.. that is near Mor Dhona, or even Dravania. Holy shit...
Limsa cannot be, since that represent more like Caribbean Sea, but some characteristics are similar to Spain.
Dad from Doma, Mom from Garlemald, and I'd be from Doma somewhere but end up becoming an adventurer-artist who now sells paintings in Idyllshire of places I've been.
Got banned from Ishgard because I like painting dragons too much, though maybe I'd get invited back by Aymeric after the war is over to paint more dragons.
Far west Texas
No idea, maybe somewhere in Thanalan because it's all desert out here
We Canadians would be most the obvious choice for Gridania and the Black Shroud. Lots of trees, people with French names and we are very diverse.
Garlemald would be Russia. Not America. If you want to be intellectually honest about it. Trump hasn't started any wars or taken over any territories, has he?
My father grew up on a farm in Minnesota so he would be from Ishgard/Coerthas. My mom and I were both born in San Diego, CA so inbetween Ul'dah and Limsa I think.
Of course in the story, my home is Ishgard.
I would be from Yanxia/Doma. Go figure.
Only one person mentioned the people from the Americas would be from the "New World"/ Western Continent. I don't think any other option fits for most of the United States outside Florida. So for NY/ NJ, I would say the "New World."
La Noscea also makes sense for those in certain parts of the Americas, such as the Caribbean but strangely enough Scandinavia also with it's sea warrior culture. It's an odd mix on paper, but it seems to work well enough.
Coerthas and the Black Shroud both seems to borrow heavily from Western and Central Europe for different reasons. You have the more developed Ishgard versus the more natural Gridania. Europe has plenty of forests that the Black Shroud could represent such as the Black Forest.
True, the New World is apparently the Americas...so that means everyone from the Americas is Mamool Ja XD
I'm British, but live in Norway. You tell me. XD
This is interesting. Since I live in Puerto Rico, one of the Caribbean islands, Limsa Lominsa fits just perfectly. It will be icing on the cake if we had structures similar to Limsa. And now that I think about it, another place that resembles Limsa is, correct me if I’m wrong, Santorini in Greece. There white buildings, which is characteristic of Santorini , is similar to the structures in Limsa like the Aftcastle and it’s avenues.
