The MCH Box that never changes

Does anyone else think that SE should somehow change the box on the MCH hip? Like The weapons look awesome but the stupid box on every MCH's hip is a eye sore. I kinda wish they would change with the weapon itself. It doesn't have to be a huge change or super extravagant box or whatever. Just a nice subtle change would be 100% welcome.

Yes. And while we're at it add books that don't have ridiculous covers/fold out bookmarks/pens in them.

the thing on the hip is easy to animate / skin, since it probably just uses the sch/smn book animations , when those are sheathed..

SE could maybe use the Ast and Pld animation (golbe or shield on the back), if they tried to turn the "hip" box into a "backpack" box...

I probably prefer a backpack over the hip box for Mch.., and when using the flamethrower (!) with a backoack, it could really look cool..

(and like mentioned, the animation change could be done easily thanx to the already existing Ast and Pld globe and shield skins / animations)

I wish they would get rid of the box and just let us dual wield guns. Having the box made sense for what Yoshida said they originally wanted to do with a variety of barrels and turrets. But it is just out of place for a simple gun class.

I assume it was something more like engineer from gw2 they were going for and when they couldn't make it work so they just reduced it to its bare minimum but didn't have time to replace all the animations or assets already created.

Shame too, something like gw2's engineer would make the job x10 more fun to play

guess SE likes to highlight the hips of players (so sexy.. or something)

still think a packpack would be cooler than just getting rid of it completely

If the aetherotransformer at least matched the gun, I wouldn't mind, but as is, it feels like an afterthought. Wish we could just hide it.

They can make time for unique sheaths for each katana, but can't make unique lunch boxes and Gauss Barrels for MCH. I even remember they had concept art of different attachments for the weapons.

Might be little too late at this point since it would likely take a lot of resources to greatly alter it. The least they could do however is let us hide some of these things and not just client side.

It's seems to have been a HW thing doesn't it. I mean AST has the clip-on pouch containing cards... which I never really understood because I thought the cards were taken from the rotating Astrometer. As for MCH, I imagine it contains turrets but even those seem to magically appear when you throw them.

Having secondary arms may not be the best idea, but maybe allowing the MCH to have a 2nd arm could allow you to customise it more and possibly even give it the ol' PLD Spirit Shield treatment and hide it.

I'd much rather see different gauss barrels before different hip-boxes, but both/either would be nice.

It would be lovely to have a matching set.

People wait for that since the release of the job. It should be cool to just remove the box, or the possibility of customizing it. Or at least, make it like the BRD for arrows : change it with the weapon.




And why can't we play synthetic music with the Box ? Making Eorzea a night club... The dream. /joke

i wish there was a way to hide it not so much MCH since alot of BRD/MCH gear doesnt really clip through the gear
but the ast Card holder clips like no tomorrow

Would just like text command to hide the hip lunchbox, like we had for gauss barrel, but make it so the change is shown to other players too. No reason to change my appearance if I'm the only person who can see it.

Mch is a new class, new in a lore sence too, the "luchbox" Aethotrainsmiter & Gauss barrel are new items to make the class work while using pre-existing firearms (u see non-MCH NPC's using guns every so often but all they do is the auto-attack with a few "tools" for other skills). Seriously ur Avi is like the 2nd MCH to ever exist & ur "senpi" is the gear-creator's assisant, the whole class is maybe a year old unlike all other classes which have been around for damn near forever.

Thats the reason "Lore-wise" both those things are always the same... I can't explain why its only dyeable when the gun is thou

Wait, HW has been released like 3 years ago...
If it's the lore the issue, we can make a little quest like "X thinks you're not very glammy" and there you are.
I just think they don't want to work on it. They have the time to make the BRD plays some music but not to allow MCH to change their lunchox or totally hide the Gauss Barrel...

The visible gun barrel that makes most guns ugly bothers me far more than the box.

The AST card sleeve is basically a Duel Disk from Yu-Gi-Oh!
