Past Races In FFXIV

What is your favorite race from past final fantasy games that you would like to see in game?

I love the way they look in the first game. I also think they could work since they had a lot of unique helmets even in the ds games, and they could equip gear like in echoes of time. If they wanted to add more helmet options they could give them more bird/beak design

I think this race could really work in this game they are really cool looking.

But we already have Bangaa in-game. Unless you mean as a playable race. I'd much prefer XIV to have its own races, even if five of the present ones are sort of carryovers from XI.

I was disappointed the Roe aren't as much like Galka as I had expected. Where are their big tails!!! Bring them back!

Why most things suggested by small parts of the playerbase get flat out ignored/groaned at. It sounds like a 5th grade report.

I really want a Selkie or a Lilty.

Though honestly I'd be happy enough if they would just bring in some of the FFCC music and a chalice minion :) They bring in music from many games and FFCC's was simplistic, but beautiful in its own way.

With the current 24 man raids we have groundwork potentially for all the races shown in the FF tactics series as we have already seen Seeq and Bangaa. Moogles are in game already but are more traditional rather than the ivalician models that would probably stand about lalafell size. We could still see Viera, nu mou, and gria

Crystal chronicles had some unique playable races as well

Then we have various races scattered in past FF games from the main numeric line. Ronso, guado, burmecian, dwarf, theres more but I cant remember the actual names atm.

Some of the races I actually would like to see in ffxiv are actually beastmen in ffxi that didn't transition over such as Quadav, Yagudo, and Orc

I like the idea of new races, but I think anything that strays from the existing body shapes would be prohibitively taxing to create assets for.

Imagine all the gear that exists in the game. All of that would have to be reshaped for the new race. Possibly twice, depending on gender differences.

Japan is really in to playing their incredibly humanoid and "sexy" races. I think Galka and Roe are about the closest we're gonna get to a "beastly" race. All the "ugly" races are seen as Neutral / Evil for the most part :(.

We can already see that many of the ingame items are merely stretched by formula rather than individually reshaped... While this may be true for some pieces, I feel like, past a certain point in humanoid-ness, this point gets overstated.

Viera. Viera please.

I'd be fine with Bangaa too, but I wonder how they'd work the gear around them.

Cameos are fine. Hand-picking and shoehorning an entire foreign race from another game to playable status is just tasteless pandering at the expense of their own creativity.

A hypello would be pretty funny to play as XD

I would like to see a Shumi/Moomba beast tribe at some stage, The Shumi are pretty interesting, and Moomba's are pretty cute.

I'd love to see what the 14 staff can make on there own, I think they did a great job with the au ra (biased opinion) and I think they are more than capable of making another unique race.

If they went the route of pulling from past games I'd want Bangaa, I'd be more than willing to go Bangaa with heavy gear restrictions as well be it no head/hands/feet glams as that's the only way I'd see Bangaa working.

I miss the traditional elves and dwarves from Ff1 and 4
