i cant find anyone to team up with >< no 1 loves lonesome me >< lmao
I just wish the event wasn't so convoluted that I'm clicking every option trying to figure out what it wants me to do exactly.
same i'm hell confused ><
i think u need to get some1 in ur party talk to the person and do dear love there get them to use chocolate on u and then find out which char and grand company person u need to find and do the pure love thing as well in 3 items and that will get u 2/4 of the achiments no idea how to get the other 1
I know it doesn't matter to most people, but i for one am rather happy that the gender of your partner doesn't matter for valentiones, a welcome change from FFXI's version.
As for what to do, so far all i've figured out is you form a 2 person party with the person of your choosing, and pick the first love option, true (or was it pure?) love. doing so got me the paramours pendant. The other option, dear love, is where you try to find someone of the race and company affiliation they are asking for, which changes every earth day. Mine was an elezen of the maelstroms. talking to the lady with a nearby random elezen got me 3 special chocolates, which when used on a person lets you blow a kiss on them, granting a point toward (their) blessing. If you yourself collect 20 blessing points, (or maybe 20 total from both people, it wasn't terribly clear), you get a gift from that city-state.
Another gift is obtained by finding the person they ask for in each of the three city states. So I presume it's one for a pure love bond, another for getting dear love in all 3 city states, and a last from getting 20 points as a couple. Also, the couple with the highest points each earth day gets declared the most loving couple of the realm.
As far as I can tell, the event has 4 parts.
1) get in a duo with anyone and talk to the first NPC to declare a bond of pure love
Reward: Paramour Pendant, 3 chocolates, Acheivement
2) get in a duo with a character of a certain race & GC aligment to declare a bond of dear love in all 3 cities
Reward: Platinum Paramour Pendant, 3 Chocolates, Acheivement
(only get chocolates if you haven't obtained in that game day. You can declare your love at each city regardless of the day, but only get chocs once)
3) use a consecrated chocolate on a character to give them 1 "Glory of Love Points". Talk to 2nd NPC to get your love points evaluated. When you gather 20 points (not sure if this is individually or jointly) you get a reward
Reward: Band of Eternal Love, Acheivement (x2 if you get all 3 chokers)
4) people who accumulate the most amount of Glory of Love points in a day (resets 24 hrs) gets nominated Eorzea's most loving couple.
Reward: Lodestone History acheivement?
Notes:
¤ Couples can be any race and gender
¤ You can only declare love multiple times per day for either deep or pure, but can only get chocolates once per game day
¤ The specified character type changes each day
¤ 24 hour turover time is IN GAME CLOCK on real time.
¤ The specified character type is the same in each city, but the company bust be the city's company (e.g. Uldah had a Flames Elezen, Limsa had Maelstrom Elezen, Grid had Adder Elezen)
¤ Once you get your Glory of Love points recorded for the day they are reset (e.g. if you record @20 for the item, you will have to start over again if you want the max in one day - unless 20 will win you the maz)
¤ Glory of Love points will accumulate until you get them recorded. You can get them evaluated without them being set down and reset
¤ Each city has its own top couple standing (i.e. there can be 3 winners per game day, so try a deserted city)
Paramour's was Pure Love. Dear love is for the matching race they seek.
Also, its ironic that this event that went live today is not gender biased (Again, a welcome change from FFXI.) , given also that washington just passed the bill on gay marriage.
Happy valentiones day everyone.
Hmmm. For an event this is actually pretty entertaining. Good job developers are giving us some content ^^. To all the people lost about what to do...talk to the two npcs right in front of ya.
Lodestone History event for being most loving couple confirmed -> http://lodestone.finalfantasyxiv.com...cicuid=1815292
I for one are happy that this activities is more involved rather than just go to deep unknown place in the world and get items.
"Nothing, I'm incapable of love"
Instantly clicked this option when I saw it.

Is there any faster way to get chocolates? Or is 3 chocolates every game day the limit?
also is it just me or do those heart balloons look more like floating kidneys.
They look like floating forever alone faces to me.
now you mention it... they sorta do
Anyhow, I'm puzzled by the etiquette for this event. We are not granted any extra chocolates for helping out someone else to match the race & GC they need. So, if they blow you a kiss for a point, then I feel the need to return one back to them. Eventually though I would run out of chocolates to return back. And I would feel bad if they wasted a kiss point on me when I can't return one back.
*taps fingers together all evil-like*
Enjoy this time while it lasts, lovers of Eorzea.
For it will come to end sooner than you think. And then, the single people will rule once more!!!
Hehe.
Mwuhaha.
MWUHAHAHAHA~
My big congratulations to SE for: "Couples can be any race and gender"
:)
Happy Valentione's Day, everyone! Pictures courtesy of the wonderful, amazing Neko Kun. <3

So, if I'm reading this correctly, you cannot complete the event with your actual real life partner or friends? I guess I can understand that in terms of a MMO you have to do something that can include all players, but it's still a drag for me. My boyfriend and I made an effort to do every event in the game so far together, it's ironic that the only one we won't be able to is the valentine's day event. :p
Hi Kio,
No, you can. :) (at least most of it)
The Bond of Pure Love (Paramour Pendant, Chocolate, and Achievement) = With anyone you choose (your boy/girlfriend, etc.).
The Bond of Dear Love (Platinum Paramour, Choco and Achievement) = Finding the NPC declared "Race / Grand Company-affiliation of the Day" (random)
The Band of Eternal Love and Achievement = Getting up to 20 "Glory of Love" Points from getting Chocolates and using them on each other (you and your partner). :)
And as Magnesium said, you can even go after the "Most Loving Couple" Achievement with your partner (whoever you choose) by getting the most amount of Love Points per day.
So 3 of the 4 goals here are with whoever you choose. Enjoy! :)
am i the only one who kinda wanted this holiday's emote to be /kiss, instead of /blowkiss?
^^;;
(I understand the whole blowkiss idea though, makes it less awkward when pairing up with a friend or stranger :P )
I wanted mud ball. Nothing shows affection like a dirt ball to the face.
How does one get the red Valentione's Day background on their lodestone? I've completed all the achievements including the loving couple last night but I don't have it :/
Time to collect more chocolates and help others on the server get their Love Points!
I got mine with a mere 23 points. I submitted my couple for evaluation in Limsa Lominsa, there almost nobody at the time (the previous couple before us had 57 points, so we just waited for all of them to go away and submit our couple the next day. :D)
So, it's possible even if you don't want to farm the chocolate with a friend. :D
Twilie?! Log on so you and I can do it! ;)
Can anyone confirm that for the Glory of Love achievement whether it's 20 points per person in a couple (minimum 40 then), or if it's 20 added between the 2 people in the couple (e.g.: 10 me and 10 my partner)?
How many real life minutes/hours are in one in-game day? 1 hour? Just want to know how often I can check for the race requirement turnover.
Is the race requirement turnover in order? i.e. Will it always cycle from one race to another in a fixed other and not be random? Can't be arsed to camp the NPC and check every in-game day. :P
