They're stated that the Namazu quests coming in 4.3 will be focused on both crafting and gathering.
Also, the crafting Beast tribe has always been the last beast tribe per expansion. At least that's what has been happening so far.
The namazu will set up a camp with a new aetheryte in the Azim Steppe, on the plateau in the west.
Gonna be fun to spawn the S rank on top of all those unsuspecting crafters
Not to sound mean but they literally just announced it, like 3 days ago. Maybe you don't follow LL's
Do we really need another Crafting-Beast Tribe?
You also have much more options for your dps classes. While waiting in queue for dungeons and roulettes, you can run FATEs, beast tribes - 2 of which you already have for your 60+, daily hunts, side quests if you have it, and we'll soon have Heaven on High. And none of these options cost you anything other than some time, whereas for crafting you have to spend money (saving time, don't have gatherers leveled, you need a fish and rng is mean to you) or even more time to get the mats before you can even craft.
So just to clarify cus I've heard it referred to as a crafting and gathering beast tribe. Will we be able to lvl a gathering class through this?
While the leves may be faster, that bit of EXP(plus story if that's your thing) from the beast tribe definitely helps(heck, my 50-59 crafters are getting 300k-500k EXP - level dependant - from Moogle's, per quest). That...and I'm not much of a crafter right now...still working on that.
I don't know about A and S rank being a problem, as long as those people do their business at the tribe's area. The Namazu are going to be in an area of the Azim Steppe that's supposedly only accessible by flying and there will be an aetheryte to teleport there as well.
I normally do but I have been extremely busy this month due to personal issues needing to be dealt with.
Also, they did not show it in the trailer which was another reason why I was curious if they planned on it or not since they normally would show it in the trailer as well.
I notice this patch trailer seems to heavily focus on the DoW/DoM content this time only.
Ixal is for crafting up to level 50, Moogles for up to 60, Namazu for Level 70.
Though they're going to run out of beast tribes come next expansion. You can't keep repeating the same formula and expect people to be enthusiastic about repeating the same thing they did before.
Most likely they may introduce a new system to replace Beast tribes later on.
Maybe new Craft Daily with a story focus on rebuilding a destroyed town/village/section of a city.
It would be a ideal crafter daily storyline as well if the suspecion of WoL going to Garlemald in 5.0 is correct because the destruction of a good amount of the city and towns maybe devestating once the war is finally on the Garlean Empire's territory and the Garlean Empire unleash their best weapons to defeat the Alliance.
I don't agree with any of this. They obviously aren't going to literally run out, since they used three new beast tribes in Stormblood. But also, what do you want in their place? The beast tribe quests are basically a revised version of leves, and they do their job very well. Sure, they could do the same content without beast tribes, but then what are they going to do with the beast tribes? They'll likely want to feature them somehow. I also don't see how they can substantially change the nature of the quests. What exactly do you want them to do differently?
Consider that the Garlean Empire considers the beasts and Eorzeans to be "savages", they'd kill off any beast tribes in their areas AND any Eozeans they can't subjugate. If we're going to see an incursion into their territory, there will not be beast tribes. Rebels maybe, but they'd not operate out in the open like the Beast tribes do. So the kind of thing we've done with the Moogles and Ixal would not be happening.
No the only beast tribes left in the game that we haven't done the "good guy beast tribe" with are the Qiqirn.
From a purely crafting/gathering perspective, what makes sense is something like "hamlet defense" , and rewarding contribution and effectiveness. That would be the logical thing to come out of what we've been doing with the Moogles. Build a hamlet, tower-defense style, placements matter. (If you've played Dungeon Defenders, like that.) Even a party of DoL/DoH could do it.
But I'm not sure how many more "mini-games" FFXIV can justify having.
Lupine as a beast tribe? Unless added asap could be tricky fitting into SB
I'm amused you brought the Ixali up as an example because that particular group was caught between two hostile factions, Gridania and the Ixali of Xelphatol (three if we want to include Ishgard). A lot of the quests involved you utilizing that Lalafell's connections, a party whose ties to the beast tribe were unknown - in a sense, a spy. They're a prime example to how a beast tribe can work behind enemy lines.
Way too much assumption.
Even if the patch was focused on taking on the Garlean Empire, that doesn't mean all the new zone will be in Garlemad(?). And even in zones within, there's still the potential for helping BST tribes that have been in hiding.
Also Kojin, Anata and Namazu were added in SB, so I don't understand where this notion of "we'll run out of Beast tribes" is coming from. They can literally add whatever they want with each new expansion.
for SB they could've done Azim Steppe tribe quests and Hancock quests for crafting. the Ananta quests are basically the Resistance anyway, could've done it exactly the same without the main quest character being Ananta.
they didn't have to do anything with the Kojin outside of what's already in the MSQ.
