The art is nice but.. the illustrations are not by yoshida anymore? :/
I'm so excited for this event! I was looking through the auto-translate list, and saw /blowkiss on there! I am going to blow SO MANY kisses!

If you try to search for It, Kazuya Takahasi has actually done Early FFXIV Artworks, and I like his style as well as Akihiko Yoshida's (Actually, Tetsuya Nomura as well!)
This is done by him: http://i.imgur.com/g0GnK.jpg
So... FFXI flashback much with this quest? :D
(If anyone's interested, I wrote a little ode to this quest in my blog http://lodestone.finalfantasyxiv.com...cicuid=9425347)

Stats include Blind resist and Healing Potency.
It that because Love is Blind, and it is Hard to Heal a Broken Heart?
They only have the same name for the event. In the XI event there is no Arabelle de Valentione mentioned in the story.
Story from last year about the countess
http://lodestone.finalfantasyxiv.com...aa0ef7e9d2ddc0Quote:
History
Currently observed throughout Eorzea, Valentione's Day was originally established to pay tribute to Countess Arabelle de Valentione of Ishgard—a remarkable woman who exhibited unparalleled courage in her quest for true love. In present day, it has become an occasion on which people express feelings of love and gratitude to those most important in their lives. This is commonly done via the exchange of simple chocolate bon-bons crafted specially by the giver.
While in recent years there have been complaints that the true spirit of the day has been grossly perverted—now little more than a marketing ploy conjured up by the Culinarians' Guild and the Company of Eorzean Kukuru Growers to increase sales of their products—this does not take away from the fact that countless people across the realm use this tradition to bring happiness to others. And isn't that what the countess would have wanted?
SE and FFXI/XIV has a ton of artists who shift around doing artwork for things so pretty sure AY still does artwork and model/clothing designs.
For example, Jun Sumei did this artwork:
Yet Mitsuhiro Arita did this artwork:
So no worries, he'll still be doing artwork lol.
Thats odd, over here in Britland it's tradition for boys to give the gifts, and get rejected. ; ;

That's sweet! The little items for the event look fun and I love how Se is adding new emotes for the events now. Makes it a lot of fun.
Edit: Anyone know if there will be an achievement for this event?
oh! haha. Thanks Felis!
They have no noses.
Not even dots for nostrils.
Absolutely no noses whatsoever.
Otherwise I love the artwork.
I like the art for this. SE may have been going through some issues lately, but they still seem to have about the best artists in the business for this kind of thing.
As far as the event, I like doing this kind of pointless seasonal event, maybe moreso now that they're associated with achievements, so I can't wait.
Valentines day. that's the day that mom gets me those inedible chocolate things and i have to say thanks right?
There goes another precious 3 inventory slots.
