I have to say, I don't understand exactly what it means? Can you explain it to me?
This is mostly beneficial to those who don't log on as much. If you are logging on enough to already be leveling up your character superfast, you won't be getting much, if any, EXP bonus. So I don't see how this is a problem.
Well, from what I got out of the notes deals. You log out of your house and you get exp bonus for when you log back in. That's what I got from it.
Oh, you mean like rested xp in WoW? That seems like a decent idea.
We've come a long way (in a good way) from Surplus SP.
I know this will be good for keeping people in cities (not a particularly huge issue at the moment) and help out people who don't have a lot of time to play.
Shh don't say WoW! All the fanboys will instantly reject this idea, claiming it makes the game too easy and the new players won't be working as hard as they did to get all classes to 50.
Fanboy translation: Rested xp is a completely new and original idea that is coming to a FF-mmo near you! You'll now earnes a bonus to the exp you will ean while playing as a function of how long you've been logged out! So no more idling in town overnight bros! Logout in your residences instead :)

Actually that's another fair point -- it'll encourage (but not force!) people to log out instead of taking up server resources while they're out at work, school, or asleep, except for those people who already have a 50 everything (unless it boosts the rate of SB too, then it'd still have at least some use at 50.)
That's one of the primary meta-game reasons for encouraging you to log out. The rested bonus is the pat on the head and seeing it roll in is like the biscuit. Good dog, etc.

I'm willing to bet that XP rate will be degraded, with Rested XP bonus yielding a similar rate to current rate despite being called "bonus".

Lol as soon as I read we would be getting this I thought as soon as I opened general discussion I would see someone complaining about this.
It's great for you that you level super fast. Great, really, super (or not, you complain about it in every other post you make). This is something for the players who can't play all that often, for those playing all the time, they wont notice this as much as someone logged in all the time. Its nice to see this being added.

Its funny, we had surplus at the beginning and now we are able to get 800k EXP and more each hour xD not hard to get 50 these days..
I'm bracing myself for the complaints saying "why don't we get rested XP rates all the time?", etc. Just watch.

I've never liked this rested XP stuff because it throws parties off. You'll have someone leveling out of the optimal level range for an area faster than the others, thereby destroying the party.
Yep yep, also for a competition stand point, why would I want someone catch me up on levels that never plays? When I play all the time and grind the hard way.... It's really not fair, it just supports never logging in the game even more.
Cool, we're once again penalizing people that play more often and actually put effort into the game while rewarding those that put the smallest effort into the game.

They are abolishing Guardian's Aspect at the same time they implement this. Nothing is changing fundamentally. They are replacing getting bonus xp from popping guardian's with earning your guardians bonus in your mog house.
Guardian aspect was a joke anyways... at least for DOW when they redid the leves

I don't see anything wrong with this really. It will help the more casual players advance at a more encouraging pace, while the hardcore or regular daily players will continue to level normally, as they have so far.
Right now, you can be power-leveled to 30 in a couple of days, raptor party (or whatever) to 40 in a few more days, and 40 to 50 in a single day in stronghold. Provided you have friends/LS mates that want to help you. If you're new and/or don't have a static (plus there's a matter of many current players having a lot of their classes 50 already), or just want to play on you own for a while, it's bloody boring. I'm willing to argue that soloing DoW/DoM is far from fun/enjoyable/easy still (battlecraft leves/behest/GC leves - all the same tedious thing with a different name and the "quests" will only get you so far). Nothing spells 'demotivation' better than repetitiveness accompanied with slow progress (guardian aspect or not).
And since I already mentioned guardian aspect, how come no one QQing about having that, it's the bonus/free exp you get over time after all. Somehow, grinding to level 50 in under 10 days sounds more legit and hardcore. Virtual peeing contests at its best? /shrug
Because not everyone has the free time you or I might have? I dunno but the whole 'catching up to you' or 'effortless' arguments sound silly to me. . . So what if they catch up? If you're a good player and know how to play your class/job you'll be a good player regardless of how fast you reached your level 50.
It's as if someone said; "Oh, but I reached my level 50 while we had surplus and random EXP rewarded for each executed action and skill, so everyone else should go through the same" /confused
It should be fair >.> it should be a fair playing field, it's like me using bots while another person doesn't. It's an MMORPG it should be time consuming, if you don't have the time to play it's not for you, or just get the patients for it.
How am I clueless?
I believe if they decide to go through with this idea then the experience received from monsters currently needs to go down. 1-50 already takes a day or two tops. It shouldn't take one.
I don't know if this has been posted or this has been already noted by devs or not,
but I sincerely hope rested exp is not wasted on classes that are already maxed out. Nothing more fun than spirit bonding your rested exp away on a level 50 class <.<

Wondering if SE has countermeasures for if I don't want my rested exp depleted from playing on a class that I dont need exp. Also wondering if rested exp effects spiritbind.
OKOKOK people, I will compromise with ya, if they make the rested exp for the class you log out on. THOUGH if you change your class the exp bonus will go away!
