my last 56 days with FFXIV. I may come back at the end of SB. I feel like FFXIV is just to much of the same thing over and over. I am going to try another MMO for a while to see how it is. I wished SE changed up the formula.

Sorry I like there current system, ya it's much of the same but there is still new stuff every 100ish days.
Congratulations
No screenshots of the whole unsub process? I'm disappointed.
What is the point of this post? You looking for attention?
I care. Hugs for everyone.
Serious post though, the game is a LOT more fun when you take long breaks. So have a good one.
OP, the reason people aren't taking this thread seriously is because so many topics are created almost on a regular basis saying this exact same thing, that it's almost become a meme in here. People say this sort of stuff sarcastically.
I think the last one we saw was around a month ago, blaming Eureka.
Leaving the game for an optional app? That's... amusing to say the least.
Not to dig up old topics but the entire first page is what I called out in another thread and people were telling me I was wrong. Yet here we are. I told them so. I figured the only reason the last quitter had defenders was cause he shared the one opinion that he hated euerka. I called it.
@Rinuko Well it's a valid motive if you want to give a message, though not using it works just fine too, but this is not the case for the thread anyway
goodbye then?
It's more the increasing monetization creep that is the trigger rather than the app specifically, fwiw.
Doesn't surprise me. People said/did the same thing when jump potions were announced. I personally only unsubscribe from FFXIV if I'm just not having fun any more (thankfully I'm in a static and I enjoy the Savage raids with friends, so the desire to unsubscribe isn't there).
Instead of questioning the OP and feeling the urge to post that you don't care. Question yourselves why you want to post such things? Why does it irk you so? Perhaps you see these threads a lot? That may show you there's actual issues with the game or simply that you may be spending a lot more time on the forums than some. Not everyone is a forum regular.
This isn't aimed at any one person. More so the general players that, like I said, have the urge to react negatively to these types of threads. I see it as very silly behavior, a sort of, weird way of "defending" the game. "I don't care, I'm having a good time." - it's actually somewhat disgusting behavior. lol ('- ')
That may be true, but I think you get those replies is cause it happens all the time with pretty much every game. And the reasons can be serious to " I don't like sonic's eye color anymore." YES that's an actual complaint. YES people stopped playing sonic games cause of that.so I can see both sides. People just get sick of seeing it and ofcourse cause it's the net.. people will let you know it.
Please enjoy your time off. Hopefully the future will bring content you will be interested in once again. And, if not, congrats on saving ~15 bucks a month.
the sames things like the wow forum ......Go on an other mmo if you want but the patch model will be the same .
Helluuuuuuu
I'd say sorry but from what I gather I think you are doing exactly what Yoshi-p intended. Was his grand idea not that FFXIV be a game where people COULD take time off from it. Go away, detox and come back with new content (hopefully) It is what you make it, but it was never intended to be a soul sucking, grind fest that you had to be 100% hardcore and play from dusk till dawn (speaking generally here). If that is how you feel then that is how you made it, not because it was designed to be that. So go, take a break, come back in 2/3/4 months. Maybe you will find your enjoyment once more. I know once I finished the MSQ I was burnt out and took a month long break. I felt good upon returning.
Spoiler warning:
OP didn't unsub.
Well, seeing your post inspired me to announce my trivial two cents to the forums as well!
/s
But seriously. It's no personal spite against you. Everyone at some point needs a break from the game. Hell, I took a year off at one point. It's simply threads like this that boggle my mind. There's no actual constructive criticism on what you want changed--aside from the obscure, overused 'nothing changes' excuse. It gets old, and I'd encourage leaving something behind the DEVs can actually pick up on and respond to. It's like the making a thread about your distaste for hamburgers, but the only thing you write is 'they all taste the same'.
That's all. Enjoy your break!
Can I have all your things?
Thank you.
LOL 56 days. By then 4.3 will be out and the OP will probably resub by then.
"my last 56 days with FFXIV. "
"canceled my subscription"
lol
Don't you receive a mail in your inbox asking why you left, actually? I remember when I cancelled mine back in 3.1 I received a mail with a survey from SE.
He's smart. I've done that in 07/2017, and got back 02/2018, no remorse, it's the best thing I've done. I'v skiped all the bad things from SB launch, all the class balance. And I got to a time where I got tons of content. Do take a break.
Because there's no real context I'll just make my own assumption that Op is a sort of end game person who just does sigma stuff and whatever else there is there, if I'm right well... either you should look for other activity's or just drop MMorpg's in general they are all the same in this regard, add content milk it out for gear, rinse and repeat
To be fair, there really is no other activities if you're a raider. Eureka doesn't have a lot going for it (currently), no real reason to run dungeons if you capped (you can also just cap in Eureka, avoiding dungeons completely), etc.
Like, I can understand they want to play it safe. But it's been 4 years. I figured they'd break off from it, somewhat.
I hear you OP. Honestly, even since the start of SB, the story has become dull, trying new things (crafting or levelling another class) was dull, and honestly, hasn't been enjoyable. I have been subbed since before 2.5 and I LOVED ARR and HW. But, I do believe it's been more of the same and it's sad. I haven't unsubbed, but instead modded my Gamecube for HD compatibility and am diving into some old games. SE will be chasing others to play other games as well if something isn't done.
Yeah, my bad. I just checked my mail and I got the mail after cancelling my sub back in 2016 and then participating in the free login campaign afterwards. With that being said, they SHOULD AT LEAST send you a survey if you cancelled your subscription if they are that concerned about "the people that quit without saying anything".
