gathering achievements' requirements

recently i have been leveling my mining and just hit level 37 couple min ago.

so, i found out that every time when i almost hit level (8, 18, 28, 38), I get an achievement. if this is the case, it means I need to level my mining from level 1 to level 50 3times in order to get the reward.

what i want to ask is that, is there any info about SE remaking these achievements? since it only needs DoH to level up from 1 to 50 one time to get their reward, I think DoL should be the same too.

i'm not sure what you saying. Why, and foremost how you should level miner 3 times for achievment ?

so..what i noticed is that I get a mining achievement at these levels (8,18,28,38), and i guess i will get the one that require 4000 times of mining by level 48. so, all the way from level 1 to level 48 only complete one area's achievement. e.g. "A miner of life for me: Black Shroud"
However, In order to get the item reward, I need to complete La Noscea and Thanalan too. isnt this mean I need to level up 3 times ? (Black Shoud + Thanalan + La Noscea)

You don't need to "level", even at level 50 you just need to mine in that areas for the required amount of times in the various nodes

In short he means that the requirements for the Crafting Achievements compared to the Gathering ones are disproportionate and he's right. It takes about 3 times the effort/time to get a single Luminary tool for DoL than it does for DoH.

He doesn't literally mean level, he's just implying that the effort is equivalent to levelling the class 3 times.

I wouldn't want them to change it. But knowing SE and their prior habits they'll change it to make it much easier as soon as I get the Luminary tools!

Just be happy that you're gaining achievement points as you level up instead of having to start from scratch at lv50.

Its an achievement. Not a random crap you get while levelling. DoH needs ingredients to do their achievements, which probably will ends up spending about same amount of time if they were to gather the mats themselves.

I would say that the materials you've gathered from levels 1 through 50 as a gatherer will hardly be enough to get you from 1 to level X as a crafter. If you aren't doing crafting leves to level, you will probably end up mining three times longer to fuel your crafting expeditions, especially at the higher levels.

Where most gatherers will say, "Hey this place is giving low XP, time to move to a harder area."

The approach may be more appropriate is, "I still need more materials to catch my craft up. Let me switch regions that provide similar materials i.e. iron, and get the materials I need there."

You are actualy off in your calculations on DoH

it takes 1.5 -2 times what you would normaly need to go to 50 to get all their achievments, unless you go the "synth very low exp synths to 50" route which people do not do

since you add in leves, and manuals to most peoples leveling, it can almost be up to 3 times to 50 by that standard to get their achievment


and its not so bad....ive done 1, working on 2nd and 3rd at same time right now

and with gathering, less focus on the end result, more focus on the items you are gaining in mass to sell and use would be a better way to look at it.

Yeah I've gotten so much headway on these tools just by gathering for GC Supply and Provisioining quests. I think it's fine... but like I posted before, they'll probably make it easier later on.

nah, they wont
if anything they wont make the ones after so steep(4k for tier 5 will be maybe 5-6k for tier 6 instead of "doubling" it again for instance)

A pickaxe made of pure diamond comes to mind @ 99.

I wouldn't mind so much if the requirements were simply for that level range of nodes, not per zone as it is now. I was originally really interested in getting the achievements for gatherers as I consider it my primary role in the game, but alas now I know once I finally get one of the gold tools I'll be so utterly sick of gathering I will never want to do it again. Which makes the entire endeavor quite pointless.

Oh trust me you will probably be able to get all 3 rank 50 acheivments before hitting 50. You hit a massive SP curve around 40.

nope, you dont even come close

at its worse your getting around 160-170 exp per gather at 49, which is at 49.....which is 500 swings to gain your level

and that number goes lower and lower as you go down in levels as to how many you do


so in the end, while doing those 4000 swings in 1 area, you may earn upwards of over 1mil exp, which is more then enough to get to 50

The only people getting these tools are botters. I saw a dude with the golden pickaxe today and it didn't surprise me that it was one of the most known botters on the server. SE messed up.

DoH spends money to gain their achievements, DoL makes money while doing their achievement.

It's fair.

You have proof they bot IE Mine while AFK ? With no proof, your just another blow hard, on a witch hunt. As I mentioned in another thread, I (as many do) get on a DoL farming binge, or a crafting rush (I often craft near my retainer in the wards) and I constantly get tells "hello" or "are you there" and when I reply "Yes, Hello, How can I help you" my reply is ignored. I send more tells asking what they needed and I get crap like "oops was a misype" or "oh nevermind" because no one has the balls to say "oh I was just seeing if you were 'bot'ing".....Appearently though folks prefere to blindly and ignorantly assume people are botting, while having no proof, but worse many of you want to attept you push your assumption on others.

I could just as easily claim you "bot"ed your DoH, in an attept to negatively brand you. I mean, I have just as much proof that you "bot"ed , as you have provided that others have.

Looking at your sig you wanna complain about botters with all ur dow dom dol and just missing 1 doh at 50 either you bot yourself or you REALLY need to get out more

The luminary tools are essentially useless except for the aesthetic factor. My only hope is down the line they become useful for gathering rare materials/craft rare items.

P.S. : I've had the mining luminary tool for almost 3 weeks now. How does one bot mining?

Exactly

I have made back at least (if not more) 5 times what I have put into leatherworking and even more than that on weaving so far. And with all the mats I have on hand from lvling I am able to keep my retainers fully stocked so they are never not full of things on sale. Which keeps the money coming in. My miner/botany materials I stockpile the ones that are good for lvling gold/arm/black/carpenter in case I want to do them later on.

Just cause ppl choose to dump all their money into a craft and dont know how to turn it around into a profit doesnt mean we all are so wasteful.

That aside the DoL luminary tools I can never see myself attaining. They are way to time consuming for a tool that will be outdated the day of the first lvl cap increase
