If Eureka is based on FFXI, what elements from Vana'diel would you like to see?

For me:

1: Party level sync

2: Skill chains/ magic burst

3: An area that has the feel of Gusgen Mines (At the start of FFXI, Gusgen Mines was a terrifying place; the random background noises that would make you think you've drawn agro, sound of small children laughing or other creepy sounds. Also the half visible ghost that wander around or hang from the ceilings, not to mention the siren....) Gusgen Mines definitely gave that feeling you could die at any moment, at least way back when the majority of players would still drawn agro in there.

A dedicated Bonecraft guild.

We need an annoying young elezen girl and three more annoying lalafell brats to hector us every step of the way.

great use of the word "hector".

In terms of FFXI elements id like to see in a new iteration of Eureka, id really like to see them make travel restrictions linked to magicite so that you cant just corpsewalk your way to the fate train and join in on the ride. I dont mind the fate train at all, and i dont mind the afkers at all, its just literally the only way to do it, starting at level 1

• Customization via merit points

A certain Yagudo NM.

I'll echo the Windhurst mage. I'll also add in a certain invisible NM for Eureka that arggos to magic cast. Also a certain NM from a certain temple that drops some mitts for SMN.

- New party roles (as support).
- Increased party size.

3½ hour camps for HNMs.

RMT having a stranglehold on NMs like Serket, Simurgh, Aries, Ullikummi and many others, so you wind up with watered down Rare/EX versions of gear (Octave Club).

They can't do magic bursts or skill chains because much of the combat system is still from 1.23.

I still remember the dread I felt when I was trying to get my Teleport-Holla quest done. I got cornered and lost until a kind high-level JP player guided and protected me. In a weird way, I kind of miss feeling that type of helplessness.

I want XIVs take on Skillchains and Magic Bursts.

I think everyone who played FF11 will say skill chain and the magic burst.
This is the crucial element of FF11 that FF14 is missing.

Sadly the game isn't really built for that. I wouldn't really trust them to make it fit, honestly, because it'd be pretty hard.

More party areas and levels with the addition of fields of valor. This may not be what the vast majority of players want, but I do believe there is an audience for it.

If its just in Eureka I think it *might* be possible, SE sometimes surprises us with what they can do. Another option that might be cool is Limit Break skillchains, or maybe add a small chance if 2 or more parties uses the Limit Break at the same time when the target is under 20%HP could trigger an Active Time Maneuver that finishes it.

They could put the adrenaline rush system in Eureka, and create skill chains between them depending on the jobs, especially considering your rush could have an elemental affinity thanks to your wheel.

This would also shift the meta away from "everybody goes RDM" if other casters bring a Rush that bursts better with the other jobs in the party.
It would also give more depth to the wheel as you'd want to shift if for how you'll open the skillchain, to ensure that the hypohethic magic burst targets the proper elemental weakness.

That's actually a pretty good idea, the elemental wheel itself could probably house the gauge, activate the ability using the R3 button

Dynamis would be pretty easy to get, add gloom weather and tougher mobs

1.) Sneak/invisible potions.

2.) Level Sync.

3.) The original Elemental Wheel, rather than the two triangular relationships we currently have.

4.) More varied monster density. It's very difficult to get a sense of risk in Eureka for me, because I'm either relatively safe, or I'm already resigned to committing suicide. Lower the monster density in certain ways so that as a level 1, if I'm careful and skilled, I can reasonably explore the entire island, despite feeling like death is around any potential corner.

5.) NM spawn tiers. FFXIV's content always seems flat; at most, there's 'kill a lot of X type of monster to spawn Y', which is what we see in Eureka. Bring back farming pop items for low-tier NMs, which in turn drop spawn items for the next tier up, etc. A good mix of force-spawned NMs and randomly spawning ones would be appreciated, too (the randomly-spawning ones can be FATEs; the force-spawned ones should work like Leves in that non-party members can't assist).

Remember AV originally took 18hrs to beat, then there was Pandemonium Warden that took equally as long. FFXI was all about tough challenges.

Where's the light and darkness elements like FFXI anyway?

Actual endgame, where you ran through a zone and had to complete dangerous objectives as well as bosses and the fodder mobs were actually worthwhile because they had a chance to drop something you needed. Also elements from all aspects of endgame being needed for things like mythic weapons. Having a "mythic" that was time consuming, difficult to obtain and not handed out like candy, that required you to complete various tasks from all expansions (not fates), instead of these lolrelics would be wonderful.

These scripted, 1 and done boss fights that constitute XIV "endgame" are boring. Even the dungeons are just a series of bosses with some trash in between. I stopped doing endgame after the first Alex set do to the redundancy and lack of worth. Also why I don't bother trying to cap tomes anymore. Gear is so worthless and outdates so fast, there is no reason to stay on top of it.

They had them in V1, they disappeared in the calamity

This trash content is nothing at all based or like FFXI. Eureka is nothing more than another FFXIV piece of content that will become obselete in the near future anyway. Eureka is nothing more than a glorified FATE farm for mindless grinding for crap that will become outdated come the next patch or so. Eureka, nor this game in general could never capture what FFXI had.

I'd like to see party syncs to help lvl fresh lvl 1 friends(always felt weird entering eureka with a friend just to drop them off at the squibs and sit and watch them struggle till they get the crystal)

Also I'd like mobs to stop being so blind, I feel no sense of danger even alone because mobs only agro off sight.

I'd like to see high lvl boss monsters that are less announced and more like a hidden fate(think ixion/Odin/exc) maybe with a spawn requirement like kill a certain amount of these types of mobs or kill this NM.

2 Hour personal limit breaks.

Besieged or campaign battles

Absolute Virtue

More FFXI glamour throwbacks

The ability to do a 300+ mob EXP chain

Merrow mobs that use an attack that makes ppl naked... >.>

All I want is a Brigandine.

I'd like the XP earned in Eureka parties to actually apply to the jobs you're on, not just your Eureka-job level. I always liked the XI style of XPing, and I would totally drag my lower characters in there if I could level them that way. May not be the quickest, but it's a nice change of pace.
