With dyable AF gear, it's time to revisit the Glamour Plate limitations

One of the most anticipated changes to the glamour system was the ability to glamour different jobs within a role. It's one thing I think almost everyone has asked for at some point. We have these beautiful AF sets (crafting and gathering included) that barely anyone uses because the design of this game promotes playing multiple classes... multiple classes that share one glamour.

While the current system offers an extremely clunky solution (assign a macro to a gearset to manually change the glamour plate every time you switch jobs) this isn't ideal for controller players or people who don't want to clutter their UI with gearset macros. Also, of course this only works in main cities.

I've got my mains Eureka set for future BiS and stat purposes and I'd love to go farm the rest of the dyable AF but I don't want to have to choose one healer / one caster / one tank set when I play quite a few of them regularly :(

Honestly, I don't know enough about SE backend systems nor am I going to speculate on them in order to propose a viable solution.

People have suggest assigning glamour plates to job stones which sounds like a solution to me. OR give existing gear 2 or 3 glamour options.

Is anyone else as frustrated as I am wanting to farm the Eureka AF sets?

I would highly advise against turning those Anemos armor sets into glamour plates unless you want to regrind 3000 Protean Crystals plus 750 Anemos Crystals all over again when the next relic step comes around.

Basically this. That being said, they said they would look into adding more plates as time went on. That could be anywhere from the next patch to 4 years from now.

More plates would be nice sure, but its the limitation of not having plates assign to jobs that I'm posting about. All the healer sets are particularly pretty.

And they'll nerf those crystals, eventually. I'm in no rush.

Would would you throw your AF to your glam toilet? o.o

Not at this point where it still gets deleted. BUT if the plates could be used to have separate glamours for each job then I would definitely take the Glamour Toilet a lot more seriously as a usable system.

Well I want it to be craftable already so I can place it at home then perhaps I'll use it... I'm to lazy to walk to a inn.

What should be asked out of the devs is to enable the armoire to store the AF gear, much like lvl 50 set.

That way, not only can you use to edit glam plates but when the time comes to use it as part of the next relic quest, the gear can be safely removed.

Further edit: Idealistically, you'd just have this gargantuan sized armoire that lets you store a maximum of one piece of every gear that's in the game. Unfortunately, the limits just seem to catch up with the age of the game and it feels like its heading to a point where every QoL addition seems like a struggle for SE.

1. Need many more plates!!!
2. You should be able to add items you have to a plate without "glamourizing" them.
3. Why can I put my level 45/50 set in the armoire but not the recolored 50 set I get in the box form the level 50 job class?
4. The whole system is convoluted, take some hints from other games.

They've already stated they're currently looking at expanding different aspects of the Dresser, their last interaction about it was asking whether we'd like to use it in more places or have more plates.

Wish glam plates worked like wow's transmog
you bind the item to yourself- it gets saved to your glamours, no 200 limit.
save inventory space but still get the convenience of glam plates
and the item doesn't get deleted so you can have all the tiers of relic weapons and stuff :P

Yoshida said this is coming in a future update, they won't be tied to jobs, but rather Gearsets; instead of the gear itself. Meaning when you switch to a Job gearset, only that set will have the plate on it. When this will be implemented is anyone's guess, but it is a planned update for the system.

I'd like to see a glamour dresser object for houses. I also wouldn't mind more plates >_>

Because of this, they should let players use items from their and their retainer's inventory and armory chests when making glamour plates.

Ok, I'm not at the point where I know what specifically you are talking about (only 52) I'm guessing this is fairly current gear that is somewhat difficult to come by. I know enough about MMOs to know that todays hottest doodads are either destroyed/vended in the next expac or kept for fashion purposes.

Considering the systems that are in place, any "special" gear (Job specific, dungeon/raid sets, Holiday and achievement) should be made to go in the armoire. It should be a given that this is the stuff many people will want to keep and shouldn't have to be begging for it. The dresser should then be for the more common stuff (common crafted vendor stuff).

This is interesting, I've not read this. Do you have a source?

Eventually, I'm sure we will get "Replica" Relic Weapons that are specifically for glamouring. However, I would now like this to be extended to the Relic Armour. We will eventually need "Replica" Relic Armour to sate this need. :3

Not to beat a dead horse, but I worked hard for my dyeable AF and would like to be able to swap between it on glamour plates. The idea of glamour plates is great, but the execution has been less than ideal.
