◆FINAL FANTASY XIV HotFixes (Mar. 27, 2018)◆
■The following changes have been made to The Forbidden Land, Eureka.
・The Chain Bonus for chains 5/10/15/20/25/30 have been increased.
・The experience gained when defeating a monster with one or two players has been increased.
・The priority of displaying certain Notorious Monsters has been adjusted.
・The “Ensnare” ability used by some monsters has been changed to “Expell”.
■The rewards received from Anemos Lockboxes has been adjusted as follows.
・Eurekan Potions have been added as a reward.
・The drop rate of fireworks items have been decreased.
■The following items are no longer untradeable.
・Eurekan glamour items / Wicked Winds Whisper Orchestrion Roll / No Quarter Orchestrion Roll
■The following issues have been addressed.
・In The Forbidden Land, Eureka, the draw-in effect of the Predatorial Instinct ability used by the Notorious Monster Polyphemus would sometimes take a moment to register, making it impossible to avoid 10,000-tonze Swing.
・Under specific conditions, using the Eternity Ring would teleport the player outside the map.
・The potency listed on the help text for the Dreadwyrm Trance action was incorrect.
So there you go folks, the band-aid fixes have been applied and now the wound is all better right? Well, no. No matter how big the adjustment to chain exp is it still doesn't change that the train will destroy NM's before you can show up to them. No matter how large the adjustment to the exp gain of solo or duo players is it doesn't change the fact that as a level 20 I still cannot help a level 1 grind effectively. No matter how huge the adjustment to lockboxes are it doesn't change that we still get 100% useless items from them that flood our inventories and take days to open.
I'm calling it what it is, a band-aid, and while I welcome the change I know it won't have any impact. I for one am not sated in the slightest by the band-aids as the burn underneath still remains. Continue to voice your outrage and continue to suggest better alternatives, for no amount of band-aids are acceptable to remedy this awful game mode, only direct and critical change.
Please Devs, do not simply band-aid the heck out of Eureka, FIX IT.

Thanks SE NOT, for not making the few rare items I got from opening 1500 boxes NOT be sellable...the bandaid can go where the sun don't shine. They also cut the mount speed and it appeared the magica board recoup, not sure bout the board.

And no, i won't open one by one like SE wishes to do it.
I really expected a hotfix to sell/change stacks of crystals and lootboxes... -

Has anyone checked chain drop increases? Are there more protean drops? I'm particularly interested in data from the wraiths and the dragons in the same cave. Any mobs in between as well.
My hope is that chaining mobs will be a worthwhile amount of time for crystals. -

I do not understand why people complain about Eureka. I personally enjoy it and I am only level 15. It seems the people that are hating on it are the ones that got to level 20 within a couple days of it releasing. If it was easy/convenient everyone would have the Eureka 5-slot gear/weapon. I am happy I will be receiving less fireworks though!

03-28-2018, 05:31 PMBesameI don't hate it, I just think is was haphazardly put together with zero forethought. I like the fact it was easy for me to get relic stuff and mendacity tomes. I do not like the fact I cannot solo with my choco and I do not like the leeches that stand on rocks/branches/around corners and on mounts (this includes you L 17s+), while the rest of us kill for them. I do HATE it that you lose xp if you die and nobody can/will rez you. This is BS and a big reason ppl just stand around in safe areas during fights..Quote:

The Eurekan Gear Is by no means desirable as it is now as well, the ilvl is simply too low to be worthwhile and while the slots are nice that doesn't negate this fact. I use Eureka to fill in gear where I didn't have 360s yet. It is also a really easy way to get mendacity tomes. atm, I am using mendacity to fill right side gear that I crafted 350hq greens for so it works for me. I am just waiting for the next gear upgrade in Eureka and hope the grind is a little more fun.

No, if this is ever to be considered a 'good' relic step (regardless of length) then either there needs to be a way to make noteworthy progress over time in short bursts (e.g. daily / weekly quests), or materials need to be available in sufficient quantities outside of Eureka (e.g. purchasable with tomes and / or other currencies).
* And yes, I am partially referring to the ‘Unidentified X’ step of the HW relic, which obviously took far too long to complete, but in terms of how it could be completed, was one of the best steps yet.
As to the changes, Band-Aid is a good way of putting it, and a lot more is needed...

So yeah, it's a bit better at lower levels, but almost the same as it was by level 7, and I wouldn't be surprised if any increase in crystals drop rates (which they didn’t mention) was similar; i.e. still nowhere near what it needs to be for chaining mobs to be practical.
