What made you think it was Holy?
...It might be something like the Ungarmax bug, but some elements here don't add up. New pvp stun or old pve stun, you can't be stunned that many times.
Next time... try to grab a video (if you have an nvidia card there's a built in recorder) so we can take a look. If they really did find a way to use holy in pvp, they can be reported (not on the basis of the video, but it will be in the battle logs so GMs can review it...)
Honestly, I didn't actually count how many times he stunned me. I was more marveling that he was using it to count (and, well, calling myself stupid for not using it myself.) At then it ended. It had the flash, that holy sound effect, and I was stunned. I dunno whatever to call it. Is there another spell a whm can use that looks just like a holy? I'll try to catch it on video/combat log next time I see it happening.
did you reported to the GM yet? its an exploit similar to ungarmax
The GM definitely can check the logs and the exploiter will get punished for it
In pvp, the closest thing WHM has to stun is fluid aura... which of course isn't an actual stun (instead it's knockback + bind), and looks and sounds completely different.
If you remember the exact day and time it happened, you can do as Mofafafa suggests and just report it. GMs can check it out and see.
edit: So I tested in the dueling area and Holy doesn't work there even with macro commands. So I think it's unlikely to be another Ungarmax-style exploit. In any case... do try to get it on video next time and we'll see if we can see what's really going on.
As the others have said, if you remember the players name or even the time of match, any information at all would help the GM's try to locate the logs for that particular instance. Holy isn't available, and the only "aoe" they have is the healing spell, Tetragammation - which can't stun. Definitely seems like an exploit, so thank you for bringing it up on the forums - hopefully it will get catched.
Are you sure ugarmax was usable at wolves den pier? When I heard about the ungarmax exploit I was curious if it was a pvp issue as well, so I went to wolves den pier and tried it. It didnt seem to work. Maybe I was doing something wrong? Never attempted it outside of that.
Alisi, if you're on PC there should be a log file under mydocument/mygames/ffxiv/(character ID)/logs/ . You have to figure out your character ID. Easiest way Ive found is by going through each folder and looking at the "last modified" date.
I'd be kind of surprised if something like this were possible. You'd think we'd have heard about it before now if it were the case, but stranger things have happened lol
Nope, I'm not. But I think the notion behind this is that it might have been similar in style... ability lockout not properly working, thus allowing use of unintended abilities in pvp. But this doesn't seem to be the case.
It could have also been something like the tank stunning the OP while a bunch of very bright visual effects were going off, giving the mistaken impression of holy or something. Or it might have been some sort of third party program exploit. etc. With nothing else to go on, we can't know.
There’s no way ppl can hack new skills into a mode, you can run faster or jump higher but add new skills into PvP?
Ppl who believe that might also believe Earth is the center of the universe
“Am I blind?”
Yes
Well it is old, but nevertheless

I’m not going to ask you things like
“Does 3.x Pvp have a completely separate skill system” or “Do you know what mean by inserting new skills in a mode”
I’m just going to say, yeah that thing looks like a new skill in every aspects
/pvpac “MinionEffect” <t>
/mk “Retarded” <t>
Inserted skill macro, there you go
it is possible to hack a game like that too add skills but requires certain software but the question if they can do that how much control of the game do they have exactly can they also give themselves godmode and best gear.
Not sure how you can be so certain of that, unless you have access to the servers source code. It should be checking to see if an attempted action is usable, and responding with a "nope" (server side checks were confirmed by yoshi-p's ungarmax response). I wouldn't say its impossible that someone found a way to defeat that check. Nothing is impossible... but... the biggest problem I see with that being the case is that if someone had found a way to do that, wouldnt they want to abuse it in more subtle and/or effective ways? like bypassing cooldowns or using limit break without a full bar?
It is entirely possible to use skills where they shouldn't be used, if just requires the correct (banned) software. It has been done in the past many times & is frequently used in PVP to do things like position hacking, speed hacking & other nefarious things. Of course, many people claim it doesn't & cannot happen... Even though it has been acknowledged by Yoshi P himself on several occasions (PoTD potions, speed hacking, the 'original' Ungarmax hack).
WHM's don't have a stun and in Feast I have been stunned regularly by warriors who like to linger and or DRK's. I just find it odd that no else would have noticed the Holy especially with it's distinct sound and visual effect.
I don't know what you even said because of the awful color. I wanted to throw my keyboard and mouse at the screen. Please refrain if you would like to be taken seriously.
