A few EASY fixes I think could save Eureka

First I want to say, I am one of the rare players who actually likes the general design of eureka. I went hardcore and Leveled to 20 in about 2 days and had 2 upgraded weapons and a full set of upgraded gear; probably one of the fastest on my server. I'm not saying that too brag but to make a point;

Zergs have basically ruined eureka. For the first 2 days most people were chaining mobs akin to their leveling needs while trying to spawn NMs. Level 7-12 people were working on dino/callisto/number while lower level players were working on cactaur / bishop and any rare high levels at the time were working on Serket, owl, etc... If a NM spawned elsewhere there was plenty of time to go grab it; and there weren\\'t 110 people contributing to NOTHING. You would actually see more fates spawned than you do now; and have plenty of time to travel. Chain exp is great if you do it right.

Anyway my suggestions are too increase the Protean drop rate on chains by a factor of 5 and implimient a 3 minute wait times before NMs can be attacked so people who don't want to zerg have the option of playing eureka right without joining the zerg..

I had a really well written argument to support why this would be a great idea but these forums don't allow well written arguments with their 1000 character limit...

Tldr; if people want to chain mobs they risk missing the fates because 100 people are already standing there ready to drop it in 2 minutes or less... increase chain Protean drops and maybe exp to encourage chaining nm mobs in your level bracket and implement a 3 minute wait times on fresh NMs so chainers have time to travel to the zerg fates before they drop.

Chain mobs close to the NM train, best of both worlds.

Here's a better way, don't force it so that people have to do Eureka to get your relics. You force people to play what is considered as less desirable content in order to get their relics and they won't put in the effort to do so.

Fixes:
- Increase XP (especially at lower levels) and drops from normal mobs by a factor of about 5.
- Allow chains to continue indefinitely, but capping rewards / bonuses at the 30x level.
- Make most NMs spawn on a random timer, with a few minutes warning before they are attackable.
- Have 'special' (increased XP and loot) versions of normal mobs spawn after a certain number (random 20 to 50) of those mobs have been killed.
- Add leve style quests (i.e. max of 10, regen allowances at 3 per day) with good rewards.

Reasons:
- NMs should be a BONUS, not the be-all end-all of Eureka... currently, grinding mobs is not even close to the XP or items you can get per hour from chaining NMs (and takes far more effort; this is simply terrible design).
- From the feedback it seems that things start to open up around the mid-teens, so getting there should be quick (no more than 10 hours total) ... at the moment levelling feels like little more than a grind before you can begin the grind (and with such a slow pace of real progress, i.e. element points, is largely a negative, as it splits the player base for no reason other than ‘more numbers’).
- Nothing kills the joy (or motivation) of chaining mobs faster than having your chain drop from 30 to 0... having it continue would be a great continued reward for effort.
- With so many mob types in Eureka it's a shame that only a half dozen or so are useful (i.e. spawn an NM) ... all mobs should be able to spawn special versions, with NMs being something separate (and even more special).
- Eureka desperately needs more diverse content, and timely progress should be able to be made in just 1-2 hours per week (regardless of level / party size), without making it too quick for those with endless time to burn.

Relics always do that. I hated farming ARR fates for atma and I REALLY disliked having to do every dungeon and every primal in the heavensward steps. But alas forced to do it. I much prefer Eureka over fluff stuff like that

plus they're already done the same thing twice with the 2.0 and 3.0 relic. rehashing the same method for the 4.0 relic people would not like that.

The difference here is that ARR and HW incorporated the areas into the steps. Eureka literally ignores all of the areas of SB and makes you do it in a new area, making all of the old content completely irrelevant. At least in ARR and HW, they at least tried to make you revisit other areas to bring them back into the game and make people explore areas they might not have done otherwise. HW is an improvement over ARR's because it didn't require too many specifics, allowing you to have more freedom in the process of completing the relic. On the other hand, SB's feels like the completely opposite, completely forcing you into a single map and having to complete a single FATE (whatever Pazuzu's is).

Some changes are on the way. Wait and see but at least they do listen to all the fuss :D

I really like the recommendation that FATEs can't be started until a few minutes after they spawn. I am on an NQ data center, and despite sounding rude most of the NA players seem self entitled and ignorant, so currently if you are not with the train, you WILL not make it to the FATE in time. Numbers dies in under a minute now! So due to this fact I do not mind the loads of people doing nothing, other than lowering what I render and making healing harder cause of such, I'd rather them stay with the group and earn rewards than attempt to be considerate and spread out spawners because in such a case you will not make it.
Example, at level 20 I pulled 4 mobs to spawn numbers, within the time I killed them Callisto had spawned and was killed before I could make it there, I was right near it as is! Due to this happening multiple times I now always sit with the train.
Out of anything I have heard your idea to make a wait before pulling has been the best idea I have heard.

This is because most people are with the FATE when it spawns already. They're not going to wait for a single person across the map because most of the people are already there when it spawns.

To add to the suggestion that NMs should not be attackable for a few minutes after they spawn... what if NMs had random spawn locations (in a level appropriate area), gave a special shout every 30s seconds until discovered (i.e. targeted), and only appeared on the map once attackable?

Would this lead to greater communication between groups in 'hunting down' NMs for the few minutes after they spawned, and thus a more co-operative environment? Or is it better to just have them shown on the map immediately, so that anyone interested can simply make their way there with the minimum of fuss?

This would only make Eureka more tedious by extending the amount of time it takes to kill a NM. The rest would more or less remain the same. In order to make Eureka better, they need to add alternatives to farming NMs and so far, there's nothing like that.

In terms of NM farming, wouldn't change much. It would still rely on the few dedicated players to spawn the NMs while everyone else follows them around and waits. Tracking will give a small bonus to those who find the NMs, but I don't think it woul change much. This is what still happens with a lot of hunts. You need to do something to move people away from the NMs and right now, there is nothing to do that because of how ineffective normal monster farming is.
