Can we please consolidate our feedback more?

Okay folks... we like to talk about Eureka. That's cool. It's new. We have lots to say.

We also like to complain that the devs never listen to us, as compared to Japanese players. Okay, that's a thing. There's a language barrier, maybe our feedback doesn't get passed on, etc.

That said... we don't make it easy either. There is no need for us to split our feedback into 47 threads. We should make it easy for the devs to get our feedback by putting it all in as few places as possible. They should be able to say "I want Eureka feedback" and get directed to one thread that has all of it. The Japanese forum also happens to be significantly better at this, which is likely a factor in the perception that they get listened to more. They don't turn it into a hunt to find the best feedback thread.

If we want to be heard, make it as easy as possible for someone looking for the message to find it.

Did this really need its own thread? Couldnt you have consolidated?

I think it's down to how people generally don't read Most pages of threads. And then feel if they want there comment to be read it deserves its own topic where it's front page...

If a thread is say 20 pages long a lot of people might read the first 2 or 3 pages then jump to the last 2.

You often see it when someone basically brings up a question that has already been answered on page 12 or something for example

So, I have to disagree with this a bit. Individual discussions tend to get lost in a megathread.

Of course if it's the same things over and over it can go in one thread. But threads covering different topics/aspects, I think those are fine and I don't want to see those consolidated.

I also don't expect a person to be expected to read 85+ pages of comments that may be several paragraphs long each.

With the intention of not trying to sound rude (which I hope this doesn't come across as), it's the community reps that shuffle through these and pass it on to Yoshi-P and team. However, that community rep for the NA/EU community has been next to non-existent since Camate and whoever else left, hence why they may not be hearing our feedback, both good and bad.

Although, yeah I do agree that 47+ threads of the same thing can be an annoyance, in this case, it'll probably show them that this content isn't being well received by a large percentage of their audience since it's a hot topic on the forums. And in which they'll probably take and either combine them all or go with the most reliable and useful thread and take it from there. Again, that's assuming that there's a community rep there to speak on our behalf.

Maybe I'm just a forum purist, but that's kind of the point of a forum community, you catch up on the thread to join the discussion at hand.
This is probably one of the only communities I've been in where people are vehemently opposed to doing that.

I typically ignore duplicate threads. If less people comment on new threads covering a topic another has already begun then it'll be less of an issue. Furthermore, people tend to reply in those duplicate threads with more or less duplicate opinions they posted in a previous thread. Sure it gets cramped but it is still more or less the same feedback.

Compared to other issues, I actually think we did a decent job this time.
Sure there are a few stragglers, but most of the replies are in the

1) Impressions thread (which doesn't necessarily mean feedback as a lot of people bash without going into details on exactly what they don't like nor how to improve, but that's normal as it was an impression thread and not a feedback thread)

And there are a few other legitimate separate threads, like one on details on HOW to play, others regarding the data syncing bug, others are questions on things inside (like aggro works).

We weren't perfect, but I think overall we did better than usual.

It'd be nice if the mods made a sticky like they've done before with other major issues in the game like the server relocation.

It's easy to say "Consolidate your feedback.", but we've been doing that for years in the PvP forum, and get an SE post once every 6 months if we're lucky.

Would be nice to keep some variety in the front pages of the forums. Not just eureka complaints all over.

Could it be a thought process of "The more threads they see about this, the higher chance they'll actually do something about it"?

I think it has to do with SE's lack of response, so people feel they are not being listened to and simply trying to get heard. I guess the idea is, if enough threads are made, they will finally tell us something. The large number of threads, i am guessing is to show how many people are really displeased with Eureka.

Are you serious? Just on the front page (counting this thread) there are 12 threads about Eureka. There's another 12 on page 2. Going further back, to page 3, there's another 7 or 8 threads. That's at least 31 thread about Eureka. That's far, far too many.

I completely agree with Tridus. It's utterly ridiculous to continuously make new threads about the exact same subject as many other threads.

It's the whole I know there are 57 threads on this but I feel that my thoughts are more important than other people's so I HAVE to make a 58th thread about it. Along with but the I DON'T WANT MY thoughts lost on page 96 of the mega thread thing. Then there is the I didn't bother to try to search to see if there is a thread about this. Although sometimes the search spits out threads that have nothing to do with what you want to discuss. That and the NA side of things at least seem to have a disliking to necro bumping things.

The JP forum's mods also lock repeat threads, move them to the oldest/most popular threads, and leave a link in the locked thread to redirect people. :B

What's the difference between 10 threads with 100 pages or 1 with 1000. not like they all get read anyway

I don't think we have a way to know how they get feedback. If we compare it to other feedback topics which have varying degrees of complexity: PVP is usually complaining that even when they get replies, we don't have an eta, timeline, road map or anything. It's all a "plz look fwd 2 it" or "we're looking in 2 it".

The community around DRK had to mobilize and like all DRK comments in the QA thread to overpower many of the "menial by comparison" inquiries because at least there, we know that the most liked get brought up, we still don't have an eta, timeline, road map or anything. It's still "plz look fwd 2 it" or "we're looking in 2 it".

There's plenty of requests that get lost in the sea of other similar topics. But at the same time, I don't think the community reps can do much but pass things along. 47 threads are all likely condensed in the general stuff or they have a tool to see a world cloud of the most common words, idk. But instead of asking for consolidation, we should ask for BETTER VENUES to provide said feedback, rather than a forum post with a standardized reply.
