Fun things in Eureka, some feedback

SE, please fix the flashy effects or change the default settings.


Time limit:
I hate the 180minutes limitation, people leaving party because they are running out of time. please remove it or make it an actual world map, not instance.


The map:
The map looks nice, there is a sense of danger & adventure, finally we got a real map (sadly it's an instance)
I like it, wish there are more like this in the openworld.
not just some theme park zones that no one cares.


The Grind：

I am LV7, got 393 crystals, the grind isn't hard really, NMs give plenty crystals.
Grind is not very fun, but at least, we are playing in a party, we chat sometimes,
at least it's better than the brain-dead FATEs in HW & the roulette with strangers.(I don't watch my monitor while I am in an old 24man dungeon)
Of course, there's plenty of room to improve, the content needs more variety. there are many ideas to take from XI?


The reward and the combat system:
It's a fundamental problem of XIV, I am not talking it here. I agree what he said:

Quest:

The LV3 quest you need to sneak through some lv7 mobs, or rush inside the house with your team.
It's a small detail, had some fun on this quest. please keep doing it.
In the lv5 quest, you need to find a quest item in a large area, I spent 15-20mins & found it, "search for something", I like this feeling.
not just a mark on the map & go there


NM FATEs:
The low lv NM fate is the boring zergfest, sure. after I reached LV6, things are changing.

Before: we got many people, we zerg the bear, and we died a lot

After: we dealt with the mechanics carefully, we took down the bear with just 18- 20 people., just 1-2 guys were dead.
the fight was quite fun, at least it's more fun than playing with the heavily scripted raid boss, with strangers in a roulette.

EXP system
I think there's some issue in the exp system, if you are 2 levels lower or higher than others, then you will screw up the party.


I didn't play any roulette today, just leveling in Eureka, I want to stay there, for some unknown reason.
yes, it need more contents to spice it up.
I hope there are more contents and more open world like this

I say leave the timer so bots don't come in and stay forever farming specific spots.

I don't care for the timer, but it is there since each instance does only hold 144 people. Removing it would allow whole instances to be filled full of farm bots...

I view the timer as a "if you've been in there that whole time, you probably need to take a break and walk around" indicator.

Or in the case of my static (who switched Savage to Eureka yesterday because you know...Release day :D), it was an indicator that we had played enough.

I never really cared for the game trying to tell me when I've had enough... I didn't care for it with 1.x's "no more exp for you today" system, I disliked Tera and Rift telling me every hour that I should take a break... I'm a grown adult and I know when i need to take a break, but I suppose that isn't everyone.

I wouldnt be surprised if people start just afk'ing and hoping that others would do their work to trigger NM's and just ninja some reward of them, while others did the work.
Just the same when people afk'd in Diadem 2.0 for the special FATE inside the crystal.
SE Logic at best.

Wouldn't recommend it without mounts and besides that was a timed RNG event while this requires some effort from players

Indeed, I'm enjoying it. Much better than fate | atma | light | dungeon grinding in my mind at this point, grown increasingly bored map farming as well. I've recently gotten into Hunts for something to do (along with leveling crafting) and spawning NMs in Eureka isn't all that different. I do wonder what kind of other stuff will be added later on, but for now I'm cool with the current setup.

Didn't notice that tbh lol but why link it anyway? Far as I'm concerned it's almost an entirely different thread to discuss.

I also like it a lot. The leveling isn't to bad and the timer is fine by me. I usually just leave and come back before the timer is up anyway. So the timer doesn't hurt. I also haven't seen any bots in eureka yet so that's another plus for it.

That can just happen in chat.
Guild Wars 1 would give you a message every hour 'You've been playing for 1 hour, please take a break' or 2 hours, etc. Don't need a fancy instance timer for that really.
Or (even better) you look at what time it is when you log in (I have my local time displayed above the minimap).

I actually like this version of relic. The others always involved tons of Gil if I recall and since I'm not a crafter, I could never afford keeping up with it. With this, all I have to do is invest time into it and I'll get what I want. I'm also having lots of fun, I mean, killing mobs is what we do in dungeons, raids and fates. Some are easy, some are hard, but killing mobs is the name of the game. I'd rather be killing mobs than crafting or gathering that's for sure.

The original relic involved gil in the form of the crafted item and materia melding. Anima was in buying the items to desynth or buying the crafted turn-ins. Beyond this, everything else was available through grinding and time.

The first step of the first relic required a crafted/melded item and the second to last step required desynth'd items. Of the Anima, only one step required crafted items, the 200-210 one.

And I'd not be sure that they don't shove crafting/gathering into this somehow too. It's still an early step after all.

exactly this. if people are complaining the instance isnt long enough, they need to take a break anyway. even 15 minutes to stand up and get some water and go right back in for 2-3 hours.

I've gotten into Eureka a bit but an issue I'm seeing is people who can't play much a day may get left behind. We had someone who joined our NM party who started praising us for letting him join because everyone else would kick him out of the party, since irl things made him start Eureka a day later.
I'm on Spring Break from my job this week (when college kids get a break so do I) but what happens when I go back and I can't play all the time? I know people will say that loot is loot and they will do the lower NMs still, but eh.
